@SlaineOz Oh boy, I am literally in tears of laughter. The scary thing is you actually believe what you are writing. Have you read Mein Kampf? Hitler uses God as a means of justification for his attrocities so many times its scary. I really can't take you seriously man, I have no idea what your information sources are but they are wrong on so many levels. The amount of war that has been justified by God is exponentially greater than war justified by territory or resources alone. cont'd..
@SlaineOz to your credit, you do seem like a person who requires a certain amount of logic and rational justification for things, so I predict it wont be long before you look seriously at your faith and realise its absolute absurdity. You are trying so hard to justify yourself to me now, when shouldn't this almighty God's power justify itself? Who are you trying to prove your perspective to? Me or you? Even if the God of the bible is real, I would never serve that malevolent massachistic shit.
@klmblog Do u actually read history? If u do then u will discover the verifiable (& often indisputable) nature of the facts re 20thC regimes that pursued secular ideologoes, which I've mentiond to u. All u've really done is reply with mockery & on the whole with disrespct. Most illuminating is ur comment "Even if the God of the bible is real, I would never serve that malevolent massachistic shit": you've shown ur true positn - it's not based on fact but hatred of God.
@SlaineOz Ah, Slaine. I'm sure you would agree that youtube comments are a terrible forum to discuss these types of issues. It would take 100 comments at least to truely encapsulate my knowledge and beliefs on this issue. Therefore I try to be as succinct as I can. I used to be a Jesus muncher like you back in the day, I used to have a justification for everything, but there were still many peices of the puzzle that did not fit. I seriously wish there was no word limit on these bloody comments.
@klmblog I do agree that there's not nearly enough space on these bloody comment boxes. But here's something to think about: "Nature herself has imprinted on the minds of all the idea of God." Marcus Tullius Cicero.
@SlaineOz Okay this is my last post, mostly because I can't be fucked replying to your shit anymore. Your factual discrepancies are beyond ridiculous and your oppressive beliefs are beyond backward. The only thing Christians are good at is gathering together and helping out the needy (with a hint of conversion), so I suggest you stick to that instead of 'explaining to me' your 'historical facts'. Oh, and my position is based on years of objective study, analysis and philosophical discussion, dh.
@klmblog I too have grown tired of replying to u, & will do so no more after this. You claim "factual discrepancies" on my part, but have yet to challenge my statements re hsy & even current events with details that can be verified. Thus, it's led me to think that u can't challenge what I've said, & simply aren't honest enough to say so ... & reinforces ur earlier statemnt which I quoted above. You know, there's no one more bitter than a God-hater who used to believe. Dare I say, but God bless!
@klmblog ... spawnd have caused the "Brave New World" promised by modernity to resemble nothing of the Heavenly sunlit Utopia it sought to bring, but rather the dark Hell it accused the religious pre-Modern society of being. Quite ironic really. But it shows the mirage for what it is that u atheists have been running towards. I wonder though if u have the courage to answer the questns I've put to u, and/or admit to what I've said. However, given the chauvanism you've alrdy displayed, I doubt it.
The part that really made me happy was that few second bit at the end, why can't we forget about it, like the stonings and the slavery. Good job people keep up the good work. Kindest Regards, A progressive christian
@ReadThere And I wish you well in that campaign. I won't be hating. If people start mistreating you about it, I might even make a video in support. Congratulations on finding true love.
I work in an Adult store. Today a homophobic man stood at the gay section of DVDs for at least 10 minutes shaking his head and exclaiming how disgusting anal sex was between 2 men. He bought a DVD from the anal section. It was hetero sexual but i still felt it was hypocritical and just plain weird. If you don't like something, don't go out of your way to pay attention/ridicule it. =]
i'm undecided about the ads. but doesn't this response video kind of reinforce the stereotype?
I think the comment below 'all the people in this vid are homos lol' kinda captured it all. if what you are after is for tolerence then the bitterness has to be toned down. Try using actors who doesn't have a chip on their shoulders - it comes through even tho they are 'acting'.
That said. I agree with the sentiment that 'love thy neighbour' should stand above all else. Leave the judging to God.
@GryphonRider23 Unfortunately, you just need to read all of the complaints that were posted. 16 or so were copied from a template (admittedly) supplied by the ACL. @1.17 is a direct quote from 16 lodged complaints which were created from the ACL template (except the "I am not affiliated with the ACL" part which is there to make it obvious what we're talking about).
Also, I'm pretty sure Jesus would allow homosexuals to be Christians He made them that way. Else, when did you choose to be straight?
If you actually read ACL's response about this, you'd know this whole thing had nothing to do with homosexuality. It's about sexual messages being forced upon everyone (including children) in public places. If it featured a scantily-clad heterosexual couple ACL's actions would be exactly the same. Note that I am a Christian, and I have no problem with homosexuals living however they want (so long as they don't also claim to be Christians). It's about having a G-rated outdoors!
@GryphonRider23 I'm pretty sure that is a G-Rated outdoors, since it is the parents' decisions if they are going to tell their children the truth or a lie, just as if your child becomes upset about Disney's Bambi, as a parent it is your choice to explain death there and then or to cover it up. Also, people can follow Jesus, no matter if they are homo or heterosexual. Christianity is not a single religion, but a type, and you do not have a right to say who can and cannot be one.
@hobsquabble There is a difference between selling products by using sex in advertising, and public health campaigns. Does Wendy advocate ceasing all discussion of safe sex in the media even if its g rated and an intelligent discussion, or banning condoms because she might encounter them in a shop with a child? Wendy says any reference to sex is unacceptable, but, apart from taking the disastrous decision to end all safe sex campaigns, how do you have a safe sex message without referring to sex?
@thatcher88 I don't understand why you replied to me or what your point is. I don't think the campaign was using sex to the point of overly exposing children to it. Indeed, Hannah Montana and several aimed at children shows and toys contain situations that I would deem more offensive than the photo of two people in a committed relationship loving each other. Anyhow, offense is received not given and everyone is offended by something, it's just some can't move on and want things their way.
@thatcher88 O well then, I raise you this. :) and that Wendy would prefer safe sex campaigns to stop because then the "sinfully promiscuous" would die and go to hell, or suffer for the rest of their human life, and since she doesn't respect anyone apart from other ACL members, she is glad that the work is done for her there. Then she and her party members can continue to make Australia look even more the fool by stalling R18+ for games again.
There is not much hope in changing the minds of the religiously incurable. They’re completely controlled by that conversation in their heads that begins the moment they awaken in the morning and continues unceasingly until they fall asleep. They are the pawns of their own constant chatter. But there are some who are beginning to see thru the programming and realizing there exists a spiritual world beyond dogma.
What irritates me most about this is that people are saying the posters will promote promiscuity and fornication and adultery, blah blah blah.
But the men seem to be married (the guy in the back has a ring on his left ring finger). And even if they AREN'T, they seem to be in a loving relationship.
All this is promoting is safe sex, not some "deviant lifestyle".
And the guy in the front? A cross necklace, Christian people!
To the esteemed Lady/Gentleman who made this funny yet uncomfortably familiar video:
Wow, no doubt you have ALSO met your share of conservative jerkoffs who don't like that which is different (EG. Muslims, Chinese People, Buddhists, Black People) even walking past their children, because you portary their hatred and stupidity with such realism that it brings back vomit-inducting memories of being called Ching Chong Chinaman.
Well done! Love it! 'I know that I'd have seen it when I was growing up, I'd be gay'!! Love it, was that part of the original letter quoted? Please tell me it was, that was HI-LA-RI-OUS!!
I hide my children's eyes from the sight of two people holding hands. You don't want them to go into a mad sexual frenzy where they might hump a tree or something.
i don't that sort of ad - regardless of the sexual orientation conveyed in it - should be displayed so publically... the 1:55 statement is only slammed because it involves a "homophobic" perspective... quite honestly if i had kids in that situation i wouldn't want them to be exposed to something like that - whether it was heterosexual or homosexual - in such a public place, there's enough of that in the media these days.
@rextrek i love how you slam others for being 'homophobic' or close-minded, yet when someone wants to make a reasonable comment, you call them an idiot. yes it certainly is astounding... i'm saying i'm pretty sure a 7 year old child for example doesn't need to be bombarded with that imagery in a public place. that's my opinion, take it or leave it.
0:30 I half expect this guy to hold up a bible and chant `Jesus is lord`
0:50 that cow probably doesnt get ANY sex XD `What? Gays dont exist, what cho mean?` .. Her face is one fat statistic. And un-hygienic. And certainly not normal.
1:00 Being a bigot prick isnt normal human behavior...
Hilarious! Hit the spot :) Especially the ending - I'm gonna start a Christian Group rallying against the cutting of hair, it'd be on the same basis as the Anti-Gay argument after all...
In "The Celluloid Closet" Quentin Crisp makes the observation that heterosexual people who don't like homosexuality actually fixate on the act of gay intercourse far more than actual real gay people do (who are basically too busy, y'know, being regular healthy human beings to think about bum-fucking 24/7)... some of the homophobic comments about this (non)issue would seem to confirm that, haha. Nice work chaps.
@TomFallon Yeah I totally agree. This society is just ignorant. I have a sister and I love her. Sometimes of course we have sex and sometimes our mother joins us. I totally love my sister and want to merry her, but the government doesn't allow it. Thats discrimination and totally unfair. Our love is mutual and society doesn't want to accept it. We need to organize a protest against discrimination of incest and equal marriage rights in the family.
@ReadThere Apart from birth defects, an incestual relationship is an exploitation of an important non-sexual relationship which often involves abuse and trauma. To compare homosexual relationships to heterosexual relationships is utterly offensive. Like heterosexual relationships, gay relationships involve unrelated people finding love. Incestual sex does not exist in these relationships, and therefore gay relationships are comparable only to heterosexual, not incestual relaitonships.

The amount of war that has been justified by God is exponentially greater than war justified by territory or resources alone. cont'd..
klmblog 8 months ago

@klmblog ... if u truly read Hitler's Mein Kampf & examined his words & actions until '45, then u would understand that despite Hitler's public claim to Catholicism, his "God" was never the God of the Bible, but rather a Deist "providence" that rubber stampd the actions of the strong & ruthless; u would learn that his 2nd plannd war was to be aimd at the Christn Church which resisted Nazism despite compromise on the part of some.Nazism was never Christn, but initially tried to cloak its ... I seriously wish there was no word limit on these bloody comments.
klmblog 8 months ago
@klmblog I do agree that there's not nearly enough space on these bloody comment boxes. But here's something to think about: "Nature herself has imprinted on the minds of all the idea of God." Marcus Tullius Cicero.
SlaineOz 8 months ago
@SlaineOz Okay this is my last post, mostly because I can't be fucked replying to your shit anymore. Your factual discrepancies are beyond ridiculous and your oppressive beliefs are beyond backward. The only thing Christians are good at is gathering together and helping out the needy (with a hint of conversion), so I suggest you stick to that instead of 'explaining to me' your 'historical facts'. Oh, and my position is based on years of objective study, analysis and philosophical discussion, dh.
klmblog 8 months ago

ImPaulAyre 9 months ago
@GryphonRider23 Unfortunately, you just need to read all of the complaints that were posted. 16 or so were copied from a template (admittedly) supplied by the ACL. @1.17 is a direct quote from 16 lodged complaints which were created from the ACL template (except the "I am not affiliated with the ACL" part which is there to make it obvious what we're talking about).
Also, I'm pretty sure Jesus would allow homosexuals to be Christians He made them that way. Else, when did you choose to be straight?
ImPaulAyre 9 months ago 2
If you actually read ACL's response about this, you'd know this whole thing had nothing to do with homosexuality. It's about sexual messages being forced upon everyone (including children) in public places. If it featured a scantily-clad heterosexual couple ACL's actions would be exactly the same. Note that I am a Christian, and I have no problem with homosexuals living however they want (so long as they don't also claim to be Christians). It's about having a G-rated outdoors!
GryphonRider23 9 months ago
@GryphonRider23
Pardon me for being so immature, but are you really that fucking stupid?
TrencherE72 9 months ago 3
@GryphonRider23 I'm pretty sure that is a G-Rated outdoors, since it is the parents' decisions if they are going to tell their children the truth or a lie, just as if your child becomes upset about Disney's Bambi, as a parent it is your choice to explain death there and then or to cover it up. Also, people can follow Jesus, no matter if they are homo or heterosexual. Christianity is not a single religion, but a type, and you do not have a right to say who can and cannot be one.
hobsquabble 9 months ago
@hobsquabble There is a difference between selling products by using sex in advertising, and public health campaigns. Does Wendy advocate ceasing all discussion of safe sex in the media even if its g rated and an intelligent discussion, or banning condoms because she might encounter them in a shop with a child? Wendy says any reference to sex is unacceptable, but, apart from taking the disastrous decision to end all safe sex campaigns, how do you have a safe sex message without referring to sex?
thatcher88 9 months ago
@thatcher88 I don't understand why you replied to me or what your point is. I don't think the campaign was using sex to the point of overly exposing children to it. Indeed, Hannah Montana and several aimed at children shows and toys contain situations that I would deem more offensive than the photo of two people in a committed relationship loving each other. Anyhow, offense is received not given and everyone is offended by something, it's just some can't move on and want things their way.
hobsquabble 9 months ago
@hobsquabble I was in agreement with you :)...
thatcher88 9 months ago
@thatcher88 O well then, I raise you this. :) and that Wendy would prefer safe sex campaigns to stop because then the "sinfully promiscuous" would die and go to hell, or suffer for the rest of their human life, and since she doesn't respect anyone apart from other ACL members, she is glad that the work is done for her there. Then she and her party members can continue to make Australia look even more the fool by stalling R18+ for games again.
hobsquabble 9 months ago
@hobsquabble I suspect she actually wants to ban condoms and anything rated above G. A ban on sex is being discussed. :)

Every complaint about homosexuality can be applied to heterosexual relationships in some way.
You don't like a poster of two men hugging? Well I hate seeing straight couples showing public displays of affection. And I'M straight.
Children need both a man and a woman to raise them? Then divorce and single parenting should be outlawed.
All these 'reasons' against homosexuality are double-standards.

I totally love my sister and want to merry her, but the government doesn't allow it. Thats discrimination and totally unfair. Our love is mutual and society doesn't want to accept it. We need to organize a protest against discrimination of incest and equal marriage rights in the family.

@ImPaulAyre Of course not! Homosexual relations results in no children whatsoever - but it still doesn't mean that they're any better.
SlaineOz 8 months ago
@ReadThere Apart from birth defects, an incestual relationship is an exploitation of an important non-sexual relationship which often involves abuse and trauma. To compare homosexual relationships to heterosexual relationships is utterly offensive. Like heterosexual relationships, gay relationships involve unrelated people finding love. Incestual sex does not exist in these relationships, and therefore gay relationships are comparable only to heterosexual, not incestual relaitonships.
