@cjsiracuse listen to the sorceress by return to forever. that is an example of jazz rock fusion. after thirty years rock music became extremely watered down, and when bands started making cool experimental music again people labeled it "math rock" or whatever else.... theyre largely ignoring all the other people who played stuff like this before them.... for good math check tera melos american football and the old fall of troy hahaha and for post punk listen to early at the drive in haha peace

@cjsiracuse math rock uses commonly different time signatures, but it can still be in 4/4 it just needs to have more interesting rhythms, a lot of math uses double hand tapping. post rock is ambient, categorically quite slow but can be heavy and generally its all pretty epic. toe are one of those bands who combines the two, ambient mathy stuff.

While this is categorized as post rock, it /can/ correctly be entered as math due to its' odd signature timings and aberrant rhythmic structures. Now, I like both post and math equally, and I can't seem to sum up Toe into just one category because they are too awesome. :-)

They appear in my MP3 player under Genre "Post-Rock / Math Rock". The best of both worlds, if you ask me!
