  • best live instrumental band ever

  • ovation viper

  • HEY GUYS! give us a listen and let us know what you think!

  • @OfficialSilverDream well i would like to give you listen if there was anything to listen too but there isn't sooo i guess not?

  • is that jazzmaster and telecaster on the video?

  • @aryabame one's a telecaster. the other looks like a gibson marauder

  • フォーフォーうるせえよ

  • Gotta say a couple things

if your offended by my opinion, enough to defend yourself/ thoughts/ beliefs

than you have validated my poking fun at the ridiculousness of caring what music is called.

smorgy no fucking duh we have genres for a reason

jazz, funk, hip hop, these are the last true american music forms

not math rock, emo core, and post punk

because they all fall under a rock category, its really up to the listener to determine what its called.

    suck it kid

to the rest keep on movin

  • @epilepsieful,I can imagine you not understanding cool, what with stroking out all the time.

  • dont you guys have anything better to do than decide what to call this music, so that you can say you like _____ genre of music on your facebook you fags?

  • @epilepsieful you sir come off as a prick. not just for lumping three entirely different bands that have separate audiences into one. but what fascist system of rock do you accept that says you cant wear your own band tee? if the guy loves his band that much and hes that adept at his instrument let him. i like RtF, mostly because of Stanley Clarke, but this music is something else. you have to admit that 70's stuff had a lot of instrument wanking to it. this is just subtle and more ambient.

  • @aspoonfulofslurry i am a prick. if that means one who has unpopular opinions and wants to present them

I am a part of those three seperate audiences

have fun tryin to get laid wearin your bands t shirt

i wouldnt really call mick jagger an adept musician, sorry

instrumental wanking? you mean technically proficiency??

anyone could argue that this song is instrumental wanking couldnt they?

subtle and ambient arent the right words

sorry i'm such a prick, nice screenname tera melos 4eva haha

  • @epilepsieful you are making yourself appear to be a pretentious douche. maybe just enjoy the music instead of insulting everybody else?

  • @12108713

    i am a pretentious douche

    i'm enjoying the music.

i'm also enjoying the fact that math rock is definately trendy right now and if youre sitting here arguing genres

then you are probably a trendy fuckass who likes whatever new subgenre of rock is popular at the time.

go learn how to tap the songs on maps and atlases first lp you lame os

this song is a prog rock/ post punk/ math rock/ anthem in my world so fuck off you genre pondering wastoids

    one love yall

  • @epilepsieful Cool story bro.

  • @epilepsieful

I don't know if I should respect or hate the fact that you called yourself a douche.. : /

  • @TylerHyperFace

By showing self depreciation or admitting that i am somewhat wrong there is more of a chance that i will come off as personable, or not so snobby

the only reason i got offensive here, is because all of these peeps are trying to rigidly classify this type of music....

i just think thats a waste of time.. music one of the least rigid and therefore hardest artforms to classify..

shouldnt you be out looking for more music you like, instead of deciding what to call this genre?

  • @jakatak yes you have, Mick Jagger.

  • @aragornkid you just failed dude, mick jagger is not cool. and noone should wear their own band t shirt haha

  • I've never seen anyone wearing their own band's t-shirt look cool before.

  • never seen a drummer so content before lol

  • "Math" genres generally refer to complex and off-beat harmonies and melodies.

  • 18 wanna listen the same music since 1980...

  • they're done some post rock stuff, but this track is definitely math

  • @notcomedinewithmeguy What is post rock and math rock? I was told this band is math rock but I don't know what makes em that.

  • @cjsiracuse listen to the sorceress by return to forever. that is an example of jazz rock fusion. after thirty years rock music became extremely watered down, and when bands started making cool experimental music again people labeled it "math rock" or whatever else.... theyre largely ignoring all the other people who played stuff like this before them.... for good math check tera melos american football and the old fall of troy hahaha and for post punk listen to early at the drive in haha peace

  • @epilepsieful calling american football math is a stretch. they are a great band though. also at the drive in would be post hardcore. post punk is bands like magazine, new order, orange juice.

  • @Smorgyg you should probably spend less time trying to generalize art, since its all up to the interpreter... honestly theres no such thing as math rock, because lets face it, anyone can call anything whatever they want

  • @epilepsieful youre just saying that because you grossly misclassified a couple bands. youre the one using genres to describe bands to begin with and doing it wrong. at least if youre going to recommend bands in certain genres use the right bands. sorry i was a radio dj, sorry it was for an underground non mainstream radio station, sorry we had genre shows. genres are there for some reasons, and i cant call justin beiber math rock just because i think it is.

  • @cjsiracuse math rock uses commonly different time signatures, but it can still be in 4/4 it just needs to have more interesting rhythms, a lot of math uses double hand tapping. post rock is ambient, categorically quite slow but can be heavy and generally its all pretty epic. toe are one of those bands who combines the two, ambient mathy stuff.

  • lo mejor

  • 初めて聴いたけど一発で惚れた。

    TSUTAYAでさっそくCD探してくる!!

  • @umiique

    ツタヤにあるかな

    もう廃盤だし

  • @mamemame12

    3枚ほどアルバムがあったので、全部借りてきたー。:)

  • I want that drummer. like a small one to play music on my bookshelf.

  • TOE

  • @TheAnalogsoul Post-Rock actually. It's all in how the strings sound. Although I fucking love Math Rock.

  • @McYellowfish I was told this is Math Rock. What makes a band Post Rock or Math Rock?

  • @cjsiracuse

While this is categorized as post rock, it /can/ correctly be entered as math due to its' odd signature timings and aberrant rhythmic structures. Now, I like both post and math equally, and I can't seem to sum up Toe into just one category because they are too awesome. :-)

They appear in my MP3 player under Genre "Post-Rock / Math Rock". The best of both worlds, if you ask me!

  • @McYellowfish i would definitely say this is math rock. different time signatures that change often, complicated riffs. post rock is more in the realm or explosions in the sky, mogwai etc with powerful movements

  • @adims654 the passage wich stars at 2:10 is very "post-rock like", but the rest is kind of math mixed with some post rock elements so i'm agree with you in a way.

  • it reminds me of red room cinema

  • ahhhhhhhh.. pure beauty...

  • Awesome man!

  • kakkoyosugi!!!!!!

  • 2:19

    \o/

  • Toe is my second favorite artist from Japan next to Maria Ozawa ;-)

  • @h8h8hate NICE hahahahah

  • @h8h8hate she does get some nice bukkakes.

  • @h8h8hate hahahahahahaha!!!

  • どうやったら柏倉みたいに叩けるのか教えてくれよ

  • THE USA NEEDS TO EXPERIENCE THIS

  • @lamochila66 def Bro...To see a person like justin bieber get famous.. you can tell ..not too many people know about Toe..which is a sad thing

  • oh man, that outro...

  • Math Rock!

  • The sound's groovy, but I get the feeling all their songs sound like this. I'd probably want more variation before I became a fan.

  • @skykid Listen to their songs "past and language" and "goodbye".

  • caraaaaalhoooooo ;p

  • nice

  • When you are at 0:01 and you already know that you are going to love the song.. this is like one of those . so epic.

  • Wow, I just recently heard this group for the first time less than a week ago. Well filmed, beautifully recorded, stellar instrumental music from the other side of the planet thanks to You Tube. I probably won't see this band live, but this clip is a pleasure to check out.

  • This is so good that it almost makes me physically ill.

  • 「te' 」と似た印象。

    こっちの方がフックがあってはまりやすそう。

  • profundo ao extremo!

  • godlike

  • This is powerful stuff that I can't help but bob my head too and close my eyes and get lost for a moment in time, good stuff.

My band and I are influenced by these guys, so if you want to hear more stuff like this, please support my band Art of Sound :) We're currently auditioning for a spot in the Music Speaks 2010 charity concert, so if you guys could provide feedback that'd be awesome! Get more of this music out in the public and help a cause! The vid is on my channel under "Music Speaks 2010 Audition", thanks, we'd appreciate it!

  • @n3ster

I can hear sea and cake in this song for sure.

  • drugs makes music better

  • The drummer is the most crazy! So distinct. He is almost the singer of the band, kinda.

If your listening any song and you hear that drums, "Ah!, Thats TOE!"

  • they have a ridiculous amount of rhythm collectively.

  • They play with so much hearth! That's truly splendid!!

  • なんていうか、心臓というか感性、感覚のど真ん中をすーっと持っていかれる感じ。うまく言えないけどさw

  • They're so passionate it's unbelievable.

  • If you like math awesomeness then it's worth checking out "Suffer Like G Did".

Their EP is on youtube and they're up and coming lads from London Town. I saw them supporting This Town Needs Guns, they got on the line-up last minute and holy fuck, I've never seen a band command the audiences attention that well.

  • @Aspartamebraintumor I totally agree, they sound awsome in live

  • guapisiiiiiimo!!!

    5/5

  • So what youre saying is people shouldn't listen to them because they haven't heard of them before and no one knows them?

..You sound fucking stupid, stop hating.

  • @xDeadmauZx

    Wrong !

This is the type of band that people like cuz its totally awesome !

  • I reckon I'm to the point that it'd actually kill to get their album here in the UK. I can't find it anywhere :(

Always loved the drummer. An absolute beast of a player!

  • love the drumming.

    @gyaagin: no.

  • The album version of this song is good, but this version is downright amazing.

  • these guys are the shit

  • Anyone else think this music would sound great with ambient talking/singing in the background? Maybe similar to the way Saetia does it where the voice is, if even, just barely the volume of the instruments?

  • There is ambient singing in the background! It could sound great with many other things added on, but it's already perfect.

  • Math Rock forever : D

  • im trying to download these guys from somewhere, can anyone help?

  • @constono

    Mediafire.

  • They sound really awesome. Pretty fast rolls too for a dude holding his sticks as high as he does.

  • honest to god some of the best music ive ever listened to. instrumental music has the best dynamics i can think of and its so hard for them to not become boring, but these guys...these guys...

  • try Do Make Say Think.

  • ehh they r only decent. toe is way way better

  • Does anyone know where I can download a studio version of this?

  • if you google the names of the albums their alll online
