  • I remember watching that on mtv...i was 10 years old ..still loving it

  • Despite the colourfulness of this video, I cannot help but feel nostalgic everytime I hear this song...

  • Well written, well executed and well produced..... does it get better?

  • For some reason I want this to be a wedding song. We may be trash to everyone else, but we've got each other.

  • @frodokat or back when kids used to really listen their favourite bands and favourite albums and not have a new "omg! best song/band ever!" every week.

  • 100x better than Oasis...

  • @slikkar I'd raise that by a power of ten...oasis never wrote a song worth listening to, and all those dreary beatles references in the lyrics and titles... ho hum... did they really think they were the next Beatles????

  • @chh5555 I wuold just like to kick liam galagher in the ass...what an idiot he is....Suede is so much better.....I don't like Oasis at all....

  • @slikkar cant be compared

  • @wizotch who's murphy??

  • @chh5555 peter murphy ov bauhaus.

  • @chh5555 Ah yes of course! thnx Absolutely love Bela Lagossi's Dead.

  • OMG Nirvana.....you must be kidding me:/ Who listens to them I always ask myself...ok pretty cool songs plus the snazzy death of Kurt Cobain =great commercial . sounds to my like lady gaga of their times but I guess dying at the age of twenty something became cool. Suede rocks!

  • awww its been 13 years

  • I know suede bret is my friend and my dads friend

  • seems to have an air of bowie about him?

  • Best. Song. Ever. And I'm a yank.

  • @yankbastard your right its clasic brit pop , you shuld listen to jesus jones who when why and international bright young thing .

  • I fell in love with this song when I was 9 years old. Couldn´t have the album then, my sis said it´s not good for me to listen to stuff like this. :D I didnt think so.. Few years later I finally bought it and I still love that album, this song and this band as much as 14 years ago, when I heard it for the first time. And I will love it till the day I die. Love love LOVE Suede forever!! <3

  • suede are still one of those 90's britpop bands i still listen to, super furry animals and radiohead aswell. i was mad on oasis back in the day and i respect noel gallagher coz if it wasn't for him going on about other bands like the smiths, jam, stone roses etc i probably wouldn't of gone out of my way and listened to them until i got a bit older, but i just don't really listen to oasis anymore and i have come to realise even though they had good tunes there is much better stuff out there.

  • Strange! Very strange music- but I don't know. I love it

  • love, love, love anything by suede, thanks for posting

  • oasis are the best, lol blur are a boy band with guitars like the jonas brothers, only gayer.

  • great band. what a crap video - all the models posturing and shit. great bands deserve great videos...tut

  • i've been wondering since '97, there is an american version of this video with clips from a movie- does anyone remember this?

  • I'm lucky to have spent the time that this song came out overseas or I would've never heard of this song. Us yanks are so cut off from the world in terms of other songs and cultures. Thank God I heard this song. It brings back so many memories.

  • @yankbastard me too man. I lived in England when all of this stuff broke: Oasis, "Coming Up", "Different Class", "Parklife". And, um, the Spice Girls... It was a great time to be there right in the thick of it all.

  • 90's <3

  • I Love this song!!!!

  • you with me....

  • College years! We were all claiming to be Trash when this was released! Truly classic!

  • Brings back the memories... Great track. Thanks for sharing. :)

  • 96 kabataan!

  • that line "aaah you and me yeah".. gosh... just gives me a shiver down the spine. ah, 90's....

  • @sonicadv27 ME TOO! HAIRS ON MY NECK STAND UP! SUCH A CLASSIC FORGOTTON SONG FROM 14 YEARS AGO! SCARY!!!

  • @sonicadv27 I was 2 years out of High School by the Brit Pop invasion. I would of loved that.

  • oh, and it's freaking huge. many people might not know who is singing it, but anyone who used to listen to the radio in the 90's will start 'humming' along if you play it on your stereo. hopefully people will remember it for many years to come, it's one of the best songs ever made, by one of the best bands ever.

it's an anthem for the outsiders, people who like to be different, be original! People who like to be the "trash" of society and don't give a damn. the song is about those people...

  • brett's voice is nasal as hell, which makes the word "Trash" just explode in your ears in the beginning of the chorus. that guitar track on the chorus is also top notch, it goes really well with the chorus, you can almost smell that 90's feeling of it..

the beat is strong, and danceable, it's a shamelessly pop tune, a happy clappy song, for the crowds to sing, for Karaokes, and all that stuff. that's good pop music... this was a time when being pop was far from being a bad thing...

  • god, i still love this song as much as i used to when i first listened to it. and it's a joy when i see this video on VH1, it means people haven't forgot Suede.

The song is just perfect. the lyrics represents Suede as band and its fans and what values they stand for, what makes them different from all other people. it can also be seen as a straightfoward love song, a very beautiful one.

The chorus is the best chorus i have EVER heard. that "Traaaaaash" just echoes in your head, it' so powerful

  • I love Brett!!

    i love Neil!!!

    I love this song!!

  • I LIKE IT!

  • Bring it on again SUEDE..please

  • oh, Britpop, where are you now ? come back plis ...

  • so rite Jimbo..nice 1 ..saw em in manchesta n glasto 95 wot a nite..n prodigy followed stayed up till sun came up !! lmao..tha sights i saw n people OMG

  • Great comeback single and one of my favourite Suede songs, yet again against the odds, Suede could still deliver on a musical front, whilst holding the respect of the critics. Seen them in Manchester in March and can't wait for the O2 gig in December.

  • me costó años! encontrar esta cancion! ahora estoy tan feliz :D

  • cool song :)

  • man does this bring me back

  • I didn't know Suede were classed as Britpop. I always used to equate them with Muse; first Muse I noticed was Stockholm Syndrome and I just thought of them as a pair. Funny really, because I see them as very different now, I suppose it's odd what your unbiased impression can be sometimes. I love Suede, love the fact that seem a bit damaged, very English of them! Incidentally Muse blow me away.

  • their best song! so 90s....

  • I remember getting to Reading Fest (1997) on the Wednesday morning.

to hear Suede doing an acoustic sound test of Trash as our group walked in, Think it was the best Reading Fest EVER! Such a good song!

  • que buenas canciones hace este flaco ojala vuelva de nuevo a peru

  • Suede rule,Brett Anderson ftw

  • ...and when I said below, I meant above.

  • Yeah, I think there is definitely a place for them now. The UK needs more great bands like Suede again. Don't get me wrong there are some great bands about today like the maccabees. My band are influenced by amongst others Suede and we are being picked up, so there must be people crying out for decent, honest music out there. I think it's a question of can they move with the times? Shamless plug and pun "coming up". Here's an attached vid of one our songs in the video responses below.

  • Suede is love! :)

  • how bout Teenage Fanclub? Verve are top though. Hard to get better than Pulp. Oasis are true kings all in all, hands down

  • Stone Roses stared britpop.

  • RADIOHEAD

  • gracias por la cancion, arriba suede!!

  • Suede, Ocean Colour Scene, Supergrass...they were the real brit pop

  • amazing song. thumbs up!

  • awesome

  • I meant guilty pleasure but canot edit my post lol.

  • One of the best brit albums of the 90s with the stone roses second coming.

Iam into rock but this album was one of my guily pleasures for sure.

  • @uggla03 I have both .... second coming is ok but for me dog man star is a lot better than this album coming up........And vauxhall and I by Morrisey beats this album hands down......... And if you want maybe even some Manic Street Preacher albums are as good or better than this one...... I also like it thought. Best album of the decade IM particular opinion is Priest Aura by the church

  • cant help but feel just a little bit suicidal when i hear this song yet theres something in there that makes you feel really warm and infinite inside good song to end a really good era..the 80s

  • i cant help feeling just a little bit suicidal when i listen to this song but because of the naivity and the innocence that goes into brett andersons voice i cant help but also feel just a little bit warm inside..a good anthem to the end of an amazing decade..the 80s

  • just love this song

  • i have left some comments on other videos but none have ever had such a positive reaction as to the 1 i made here a month ago and im so happy that people agree with me. I would like to know if people are starting to hear more of suede in the last couple of months? Since my comment ive heard them popping up here and there and have just heard a reunion rumour? Is this a good thing? with the loss of oasis and supergrass in the re-immergance of blur is there a gap for suede??? let me no what u think

  • Musically Suede got nothin' in common with David Bowie...David Bowie is sort of a baritone singer, Brett Anderson isn't; (Early) Suede is strongly guitar-oriented, while David Bowie isn't...

  • @emsctwzt Really there are several Suede songs very bowiesque like new generation....... And Suede were very original and good ,even bret admitted to be a bowie fan . Bowie had a long career and he has produced a lot of different stuff....... if you talk about guitar songs........He has many .

  • jimbob982 - what about Supergrass, Elastica - they made some good songs too!

  • Good times the 90's were.

  • British music never disappoints me.

  • Is it just me or does the lead singer remind anyone of mark owen from take that? Not a take that fan btw lol!

  • Greatest Brit pop band has to be the Manics, so underated especially there early stuff. Which sounds like Nirvana and Guns N Roses, so much different to A design for life. But i'm really into Suede at the moment. Manics, Suede, and Blur are the best Brit Pop band. Oasis just the best Beatles cover band.

  • @1234legend1234 Oasis aren't bad. Oasis can't be a cover band of a band they obviously beat. The Beatles are the most overrated band in the history of music. If you notice, only people from their time really like them.

anyways, Suede were surely the best britpop band along with Pulp, maybe, And the Manics were great too. The war was between Oasis and Blur, but there was a lot more going on at the time.

  • @sonicadv27 I agree that The Beatles are overrated (i still think they are good tho). I agree that so much more was going on at the time other than Blur and Oasis, such as Echobelly, and Elastica. 90's was a great era for rock music, sadly it was the era that made Boy bands massive thus making pop massive and meaning pop would take over during the 'noughties.' Yeah the Manics are great and still going strong, i saw them last year, and they were amazing!!!

  • @the best brit pop band for me has to be SUEDE ( the suede of the first two records ) Second - probably PULP . The MAncs are incredible but they were not as infkluential as suede ........ suede was so so influential. The best pop band ever are the smiths without discussion , none will ever come close to them IMHO .

  • If it wasn't for Suede, britpop wouldn't have emerged. And thus it is gospel

  • Pure Class. I have to say that in spite of acts of the likes of Blur, Oasis, Pulp, Shed Seven OCS and so... Suede were the true voice of the 90s. One of the things I've ever laughed more at was... remember the infamous Britpop War? It was just in the middle of this Britpop War, when Blur and Oasis were more interested in challenging the other then here suddenly appears 'Coming Up' which is such a brilliant album by far bestthan so many other Classic Albums blah blah blah. Simply brilliant.

  • @TheFactoryOfLight Yeah!

    The best band!

  • @TheFactoryOfLight "Coming Up" ROCKS!

  • @TheFactoryOfLight True voice of the 90's? You're kinda forgetting Nirvana there, they were prtty influencial?

  • @mrtictac94 I didn't forget Nirvana, I deliberately omitted it- ok, from across the pond you say Nirvana- why not Smashing Pumkins then?

  • @TheFactoryOfLight Across the pond? I live in Buckingham! I don't say Smashing Pumpkins as they didn't make such a big impact as Nirvana, and I say Nirvana as they were a very large and influencial band in the 90's, and I think they deserve to be in the runnings for true sound of the 90's.

  • @mrtictac94 Alright, you might be right tictac :). I guess in the end it's just a matter of opinion, isn't it? And by the way, sorry Bucks for assuming you were american, lol. But then again, I think it's quite difficult to measure the influence of a band upon the other acts, agree?

  • @TheFactoryOfLight True, agreed, it's all just preferance really :)

  • @TheFactoryOfLight

Smashing Pumpkins have nothing on Nirvana, a good band but I doubt they will have any significant following in 20 years...I am guessing you are one of those people who support bands until they become hugely successful. Nirvana and Oasis were great bands even if every retard on the planet has them on their iPods.

  • @TheFactoryOfLight

    Don't forget Placebo...

  • I think Pulp were def overated.... Suede and Oasis were awesome.....

    blur were okay i guess............

  • una joya

  • well, thats my opinion. i know it has been very popular band, but to me its just sad david bowie imitation. if david bowie didnt excist, i would possibly like suede.

  • @thatsmydaw.. i've never noticed any similarity until now.

  • @ogfunk187 good that you noticed it now.

  • see those non-English comments? well, it's Japanese and Chinese.

suede is big in east asia, too. maybe bigger than blur and pulp~

in my opinon, suede is the best. (p.s.oasis just copycat)

  • suede is the TOP of britpop, oasis and all those bands are failed copycats, well, to me

  • @LmichSviciousD Lol Pulp were around well before Suede though, sure they crossed over to mainstream around the same time, but failed copycats, i think not :)

  • @thejam216 Yeah I love when people don't realize Pulp were around since 83.

  • スウェードはやっぱり大好き。

  • cute silang lahat lalo na yung vocalist.

  • 非常喜歡山羊皮,我認為他們的第二張專輯《Dog Man Star》是搖滾史上的經典專輯。

  • traaaash you and me ...

  • huge :)

  • terrible. so lame. fucking horrible david bowie (not successful) imitation. hate it.

  • @thatsmydaw, You're completely wrong pal, isolated by fans and critics. Not one critic has said anything negative about Trash, maybe Coming Up, however not this song. Your opinion is very lame and eschews from the bigger picture that Suede were the 90's greatest band.

  • i love suede!!!!!!

i hope they would have a reunion world tour concert!!!!!!

    I miss the 90's!!!!!!!

  • from london to orlando hearing trash by suede!!!

    damn good choice mate!!!

    cheers!!!

  • Brett Anderson is so sexy!!!!!

  • Well said!

  • no sabia q esta rola era de ellos waa!!

  • For me this song is not about "we are trash" but rather about we are allowing ourselves to be Trash / to be The Beautiful ones / to be In Fashion - to explore all these different identities - and there is nothing the Other can do about it !

  • love this song. It reminds me of being 24.

    unfortunately im now 36. Booo.

London was actually quite nice then. shame about how sh*te its become under labour in the last 11 years

  • @JJmacd

NYC has changed for the lame as well :(

  • @bonogun are you kidding mate. I was in NY last November. its frikkin AMAZING place. count yourself lucky

  • if you guys like this you should check out some other similar bands like insane clown posse or linkin park

  • Well, his voice is the distincitve sound of band, soo.... yeah. No Anderson = no musical legacy and lingering memory

  • This band has or had it all but the lead singer's voice is not quite good enough. I mean the androgynous sound is fine with me and he sounds like Bowie, etc. but I don't want to hear his voice a lot. And I like singers with mediocre voices usually .. maybe I'm wrong. I apologize to everyone.

  • @11xzxzxz you don't need to apologize. I for one double every thing you say. His voice AND the music(on the debut and on part of dog man star)worked for a while but it just got annoying from coming up and on.

  • @pinheadsen Thanks. You know how you doubled my critique well I am going to quadrupedal that. Very annoying and now I realize the song goes on too long. Almost seeks like Musak at times. No punch or rawness.

  • @11xzxzxz Almost "Seems" not Seeks" .

  • @11xzxzxz I remember Bernard Butler bullied about Blur doing a reunion last summer calling it sell-out etc. No he is doing THE SAME THING only a few month later, what's going on???...can this band s(t)ink any deeper?

  • @pinheadsen Oh and what you wrote to me is unknown to me .. this is the first and only song I ever heard .. The lead singer is doing a little Oasis vocals and Peter Murphy's voice and writing is better.

  • Really nice, love his voice :O

  • im amazed how many people forget about suede when they think back to britpop, people just go for Oasis, Blur, Pulp and its a shame because suede were brilliant

p.s. i bet this comment sparks people telling me other britpop bands apart from Oasis, Blur and Pulp :)

  • @jimbob982 , its coz he was ugly

  • hahahaha suppose that is a valid point, but looking back there were a lot of ugly 90's icons, wat a weird decade that was, i mean Timmy Mallet and Noel Edmonds, what were we all thinking?????

  • @jimbob982 Yes Suede are definitely my favourite bamd of the 90s. Blur were also brilliant and they will be long remembered. It is my opinion Oasis are vastly over-rated and will not be remembered by future generations

  • @jimbob982

Suede kind of proudly disconnected themselves from Britpop once We Are The Pigs came out. Good for them!

  • @jimbob982 couldn't agree more mate, love suede

  • @jimbob982

i was about 4 when they were on the scene and i think they are fucking brilliant!

  • @jimbob982 Totallt agreed! Suede is my favourite britpop band. Pulp on a second. Blur and Oasis are good, but overrated.

  • @jimbob982 You were right. Remember Skunk Anansie? Another class 90's act.

  • @jimbob982

All great bands, but you're right people do forget Suede. They were a fantastic band and more than did their bit to influence the British music scene. I was only 5 when they were in their prime but can still appreciate their greatness!

  • @jimbob982

Suede never wanted to be associated with Britpop. Brett considered the term formidable.

  • @MiaoPurrington but it's a fact: they were. I think Suede don't get the Britpop movement, that's why they don't understand it. They see it as a bad thing, which obviously isn't.

  • @jimbob982 Hey, completely agree. Suede's songs were just as good as Blur and Oasis. Strange they're hardly ever played these days. Oh, and you can't forget Supergrass :)

  • @rvic11 I thought blur where complete shite tbh suede where far better songwriters and musicians.

and brett pissed all over damon as a singer.

  • @jimbob982 oddly anoth suede arnt that forgotten, apprently they were huge in America and are rember more then the smiths over there but I dont know for sure I just read that in a mag

  • @jimbob982 I love Pulp, but they were/are much more than a Britpop band :-)

  • @jimbob982

Kula shaker, ocean colour scene, the verve, manic street preachers! I agree it's a shame most people seem to think britpop = oasis + blur :)

  • @jimbob982 ad. Of course I cam think of more if I think about it a few seconds longer. But the six that immediately spring to mind are: blur, suede, pulp, elastica, supergrass, and oasis. Out of those I think blur and suede are tied for the best band of the whole britpop era. Both are brilliant bands (much better than Oasis at least xD) and those are the two that started it all! It's sad that more people dont listen to suede, they were just about the first real britpop band. Along with blur.

  • @YaSoshlaSUma95 wrong, stone roses started the movement.

  • @jimbob982 Radiohead

  • @jimbob982 how about starsailor?

  • @jimbob982 or maybe devlins?

  • @jimbob982 Elastica? Echobelly? The La's?

but Oasis was are and will be the best! ;)

  • Amazing song

  • Most aficionados will always sneer at Suede post-Butler, but this is a fine song.

  • Though not classic 1993-1994 suede, it's still a cracking tune!!

  • the whole Suede's album is great but brett's solo albums are very wonderful.

  • im the trash you and me are the litter in the bridge GENIUS

  • but we're trash, you and me

we're the litter on the breeze

we're the lovers on the street

KNOW IT, DON'T BLOW IT! ;)

  • Seen then at Reading Fest WAY back and on the Wednesday or the Thursday you could see Suede doing the acoustic sound check of Trash as you went in to the site...one of the best weekends of my life!!

  • I know that's what I said... I like Suede just not this song.

  • oh my.. i was about 14 ...i grew up with this song .. those were the days..the good ol late 90's

  • Muy buena rola

  • Cool song

  • I like the music in this one!
