@KingLizard107 No effort at all, yet if the little guys like us went away there would be no one watching the big guys.. I don't want all the attention, but some help and recognition is nice.. thanks for the comment!
Dude, I am a partner. We don't make that much money, i dont have very many subs, i know you are upset from seeing this video, but seriously, small time partners like me need help too. i am a nobody partner, hope that makes you feel better =)
Well now they started this monetized option to get paid for your videos, instead of the randomization selection due to high amount of views within a specific time frame, which happened to me on my pore strips video. Yeah I agree Jared.. they need to do something.
@GedaXen I made this just before you made partner, and when I said I know people who deserve it I had you in mind too, so I am happy you got it. But the general feeling about Youtube is that is spends too much time on the Big Guys and not on the people who make them.
just found this guy (not really my kind of channel so I didn't sub, but if you like it give him a sub) his username is 'breakingnc' In his video he talks about losing his Partner status (its' nearer the end of the video) anywho, i was shocked to see that he only has about 650 subs and his videos only average about 150 views each. How did he get partner?? His channel name is very close to Breaking NYC, ray william johnsons vlog. Did he get partner on a typo? Hmmm
@pykespeek I have heard of him, there are a few "breaking" channels out there, there are partners out there with less than 600, I dont get how it works and my guess is that we never will... But yeah, Youtube needs to figure something out and not spend time adding useless stuff to my home page
Hey buddy, I totally agree with you. I also get that youtube needs to make money and this is a business. They really do need to find a balance tho when it comes to promoting videos. I think the spot light thing is one way of doing that. I would also like to see them give us some part of the decision making. Maybe every month from all the submissions they get for Partner of the ones that have smaller subs they could let us vote and pick one that gets to be a partner. Heck thats only 12 year...
....and appreciate each other for the hard work we do in our videos, and you my friend have a great channel….. and create amazing funny videos…..you sir……are validated!
...Of youtube partnership. YouTube will NEVER promote the “little-guy” because why should they you are nothing but nothing to them… it’s the corporate world… cold and hard. I agreed with all of what you said, the good thing is us nobodies can form the Losers club and relish in our own talent...
....they hold the viewership power, if you get into the teenage community group, that is where the power IS, that is why people like shawn dawson and fred are so popular, their age group hold the Keys to the throne…
....Mainstream today is FUCKED UP, and I say this because people do not know how to appreciate ART or freaking Talent anymore. It’s all sensationalism, and the truth is the majority of people on youtube are teenagers,...
...NO, but YouTube’s sponsors can market their products on their channels, so YouTube values them. It’s the same for all the BIG youtubers whatever they produce on their channels youtube’s sponsors can market through them.....
..and I’ve read online that they will not give you partnership. For example, there are really boring cute girls who do make up channels, getting to become youtube partner almost overnight, why because the majority of the viewership online want to see cute hot chicks talk about makeup, are they talented?...
...if what the person is producing (on their channel) is NOT in alignment with what they can make MONEY off you, than you can hope until the cows comes home and it will never happen. Maybe by chance you may get a lot of Subscribers but if you are not what will bring them money, it won’t matter....
It’s like the saying, “the poor get poor and the rich get rich that’s how it goes, and everybody knows!” – At the end of the day WHO IS most marketable to the consumer, is the only mindset of YouTube/Google and its partnership program. It has NOTHING to do with the person, or how artistic or creative they may be… they may be extremely talented…video wise or acting wise or whatever they do…. BUT…
Everything about this site is about who you know. Almost all the "famous" partners know each other and promote each other. Its hard to even get noticed anymore. You have to very.. veeeery lucky to catch the eye of someone but since there is billions of videos on this site its hard. Every once in a while I'll get someone to watch and subscribe because my video was in the suggestions of a partners video. Nowadays its about who you know and how much marketing skills you have.
@SirTAD Well said. If we don't promote ourselves between us then who will? (being lucky that on a shout out I will gain at most 4 subscibers) Big Partners are too busy enjoying the fame and glory, but they forget who made them partners. We did. And as for Youtube, well big bucks are their only interest and if I with a small 350 subs can't add to their profit then why waste time on me. I mean we are only running their site. I guess until we change we just have to deal with it or quit.. .sad times
I am going to do a shoutout video soon , and it seems like right now that's the only way to get other people to see other youtubers. I also share stuff on the old FB. I hate how the people who own this site and partners pretty much have all the power. It's frustrating.
@FillingtheVoidRevues True dat! I used to do shout outs in a lot of videos, at least a mention with a link. There seems to be no other way to gain audience, but if you fall into a good group the viewers are shared (like you, geda, blaine, tony, ben and I have some viewers in common). But its hard and at times feels like a pointless hobby, a thankless waste of time. Youtube is run by us yet we are hidden in the shadows..
@FillingtheVoidRevues I sent this to Youtube, it wil not be seen I am sure. And Spotlight was on my mind but couldnt remember what it was. THAT is what needs to come back. Although there is the option to PAY to get your videos appear as featured. It's disgusting.
I hear ya man. I'v e been tempted to do the featured thing, but I don't think it is worth it. I just don't watch partner videos anymore. I hope Youtube loses money over the next few years. They pretty much just put a limit on what videos are now going to be partnered and fuck everyone else. I never watch anything by any of the big youtubers (shaycarl, shane dawson, rwj), which isn't hard because their videos pretty much suck anyway. I hope youtube's shares plummet.
@FillingtheVoidRevues Same here, I don't watch big youtubers just because I dont like them, wheezy waiter is one that I migth watch at times... otherwise I don't see how these guys are so big, unless its because they started when there wasnt any competition... But yeah youtube is on a high, but what goes up must come down
this is true ... Youtube should help more ... they never loose if they post ads on your channel they only pay what other people see if its low people they give low money but is still some.. and that little can motivate people to post more and greater videos =)
Ad money is delicious. There should be a system. I think the notoriety would be more beneficial than the partnership. TN's a partner, and the google money is basically nothing. It's amazing that the higherups can live off of YT. Also, kinda disgusting how the front page has several instances of the same video in different sections. Bums me out.
It's bs that we can't get the good views.

Youtube used to use the spotlight thing for complete unknown youtubers. I was on it once, and my video got 60,000+ views (this was my old channel).
They need to bring that back and stop promoting partners and shitty bands that are on the site.
I agree, the moderators should actually look at content. I was rejected because I wasn't popular enough.
Nice viddie man. I totally agree with you, but the YT admins/owners don't really seem to give a shit at all.
