Just curious, but does anybody know who sings the bass vocals in the live versions of the song such as this? I can't figure out if it's Tim or Rob. I know Tom Adams did on the record and Rob sang baritone, but I'm not sure who it is now with Tim back in the arrangement.
Neither. Jason Burleson (banjo) sings the bass parts . Tim sings baritone while Rob sings low tenor. Jason isn't typically in this song. I guess they arranged it without a bass part. He sings the bass in "Some Day" and some other songs. How these guys have never won the IBMA Vocal Group of the Year, I will never know.
I hear you, it seems like a real rip-off to me. Anyways, thanks for the info. I was just curious - I have a video of this song that I took when I saw them at Gettysburg BG Festival in 2007 and it just seems like it's Rob singing the bass parts. I know he took bass for "Mountain of the Lord" on their "Still Climbing Mountains" album.
I don't think I've ever seen Rob sing on a song when Jason didn't. I know one of the reasons they brought Jason back to the band (he didn't play on one CD) is for "his growling bass" according to the CD liner.
