epic sketch......would be a lot better if he'd gotten john cleese to play elton john. there are 2 reasons for that:

1. Elton John did crack up a bit and was not able to deliver the comedic punch required.

2. This is a classic John Cleese recipe, there's dozens of similar sketches in Monty Python.

Just watch the sketch called "Bee Keeping" with Atkinson and Cleese.....it makes my point rather well.

There's a certain kind of comedy like what you have with Atkinson, Laurie and Fry, Dudley Moore and Peter Cook, Cleese and Python etc, that only the Brits know how to do properly.

So many of these talents are just wasted on American TV shows. Even genuinely funny people like Izzard and Ferguson have had to change and compromise their style of humor once they get to America.

Whenever I want to have a REALLY good laugh, I end up having to turn to classic clips like these on Youtube.
