This is one beautiful car Jack. When I was in high school in the 50's I worked at a local car dealership and they had a 49 yellow Plymouth convertible that I got to drive home for a summer. It was outstanding.
@bimjales Hey, Jim! I envy you that ride! One of my schoolmate's had a 49 Plymouth four door sedan...she'd give us rides in that machine! It was 7 years old, but cool nonetheless! Thanks! :) Jack
@brians09challenger Hey, Brian! They sure were conservative! And reliable! I remember my aunt's 48 Plymouth! She didn't exactly do a lot of preventive maintenance..but she kept on running! Thanks! :) Jack
Headlight finder, Jack? LOL! ... It's a very beautiful car, I absolutely love that dash it's a work of art :) You really can't beat spotless originality like this, Beautiful!
I don't suppose you happened to video that Trans Am in the back ground at around 2.20 by any chance did you, Jack?
@drewerz01 Hey, Mike! Yeah, I get easily confused! LOL! You always need to be able to find your headlights! :D Unfortunately I didn't film that Trans Am...I think I do have some nice Trans Am videos up on the channel...Anyway, I'll film the next nice one I see! Thanks! :) Jack
Some real nice extras on this car. Wide white walls, back-up light, fog lights, custom radio, trim rings, sun visor. Chrome, paint and interior look very good and the body is straight. I would have been tempted to bid on it. 25 years ago I bought two 49 Plymouths (one was a donor car). I kept for 15 years until I moved. They are very nice driving cars.
@cheddyrod Hey, Chester! My aunt had a 48 Special Deluxe 4 door, which she ran for years! Glad to know there were a couple of these in your background! These certainly were dependable cars...and I remember the steering to be very light for a car of its size! Thanks! :) Jack
Plymouth was aimed at the entry level with Ford and Chevy, but even at entry level they still had style and they looked great, its just amazing to look at these cars, the dashes are real pieces of art work, so much style and quality materials went into these cars, it was real dark days in the 1980s and 1990s, but like I've said before, i have noticed some car companies spending much more time on interiors, which is a great thing, as people spend most of there time inside the car! ;)
@BRENTHENRY1989 Hey, Brent! Yeah, Plymouth was entry level Chrysler Corporation...and was a good value, and quite dependable. I think it was a particular favorite with salesmen, just because of that. I welcome the new attention to interiors..what's missing is COLOR in the dang things! Please bring back COLOR, besides charcoal and tan! Thanks! :) Jack
@wardawg07 Hey, Warren! I agree...at this point cars were just starting to become really colorful...two tone paint jobs were not yet widely available..and this color is really nice. Thanks! :) Jack
