Sounds like lifters. The easiest way to tell if its a spun bearing is gold flakes in your oil. So if you are unsure or rather want to make absolutely sure, drain your oil and look to see if it has flakes. If its clean (well dirty from normal usage) of flakes, you are fine.
A new set of Ross Sport lash adjusters seem to have cured it.

@talon4wd Thanks buddy, oil appeared okay, no flakes or anything suspicious. I'll order some new lash adjusters then.
