  • Quick questions:

    1) What if you are creating a product/service that entertains (like a game) how would you illustrate as something that's solving a problem? I'm sure we can think of stuff like "helps people chill out" but can the answers be really that simple, or do investors usually look for something sophisticated?

    2) What if you're a one man team at the very beginning (but you're highly talented) and you're raising money TO build a team? How would you illustrate that in the "team" slide?

  • Thank you, this video has been very helpful -I've had to watch it a few times while putting together my slides! awesome tips - we'll see what happens... I do have one question for you, I will send you a message. Thanks

  • How much funding has your pitch raised using this format and approach?

  • @finwerkz This is the outline I use for a Series A pitch, so I've successfully raised money for 3 companies using this A-round format. A bit more than $15M total across those three.

  • thank you...very useful man!

  • very good job

  • 1. Who are some of the biggest venture capitalist firms you've ever pitched? 2. What made you go after them?

    3. Did any of the VC's seek you out?

    4. If I pitch you would you share your honest opinion with me? 5. Did someone have to refer you to the company?

  • @Kupawater I've pretty much pitched all the technology/software/IT focused firms at this point. When raising money, it's best to try and pitch them all. Last time I had 100 firms exactly in my target list that I reached out to, and gave this formatted pitch to about 30 of them. VCs will seek you out, yes - if they know about you. That doesn't necessarily get you anything more than an opportunity to pitch them though. Referrals are great, but you can always cold call them and that works too

  • @mcstartup Thanks for the response it's greatly appreciated hopefully we can talk at some point.

  • This is great and full of sound advice including the importance of establishing the problem and why it matters before getting into product details.
