I went out with my glock 19 gen 4 and tried to get it to jam. I shot 300 rounds holding so soft I was truly worried about it slipping out of my hands and the only fail I was able to get was one stove pipe due to low powered ammo. I was using a glock 33 round mag with 115g FMJ reloads.

I know this is an old video, but I had a Taurus Millenium Pro in .40 and every time I pulled the trigger, the magazine fell out. The only way to prevent it was to keep my left palm on the bottom of the magazine. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, and traded it for my G23.

If you're looking for a CCW, Glock 26. It's so much easier to control the recoil on the 26. Ultimately, you should go to the range with both and see how they feel in your hand though.

nutnfancy and hickok45 sold me on this...just bought and fire one of these (Gen 4)...love this gun! It's plastic, yes (Ruger revolver guy here!), but it's got a solid feel to it: this is not a Tupperware gun. First 105 rounds, no problem. My groups are not as tight as I would like, but I got way better toward the end of my first shoot. This will be my CC gun once I get good with it, muscle-memory-wise. @SNIPER12431243 Google it? haha...that's funny. Glocks will feed anything. I got a box of mixed 9mm ammo for my 19. Every bullet fed into the mag was different and guess what, they all shot great. Glocks are well known for their durability and the fact that you can feed them any ammo.

i find it difficult to shoot accurately at distances of 50 yards or more with out gripping very lightly. thus i have experienced many fail to feeds with my glock 23 but i do love the gun and i dont see it being problem in a self defence situation
nutnfancy: Check out the GEN4 version of the M26. I traded off mine several years ago for something I thought I wanted more....wrong move! Now need to get another and will get the new GEN4 for backup/off-duty carry.. Nice thing is I can use the mags for my M19 with it. Carry small mag in wpn with at least 1 larger mag depending on circumstances. With the old one I never had any ammo probs whether I used std 9mmP or +P+ except some increased muzzle flash and some recoil.

Great point on security! I took my 700 7mm to my buddies house this past weekend. He racked the bolt and pulled the trigger, nothing happened. Later in the afternoon I showed him how to remove the bolt and wtf there were 3 rounds in the internal mag well. I have no idea why one didn't seat when he was originally messing around, but there they were. Little tap and the spring gave way and one was chambered.

Awesome video, as are all of your vids-thank you! But I'm curious, in a nutnshell, why step down to a 9mm (from a 40), especially in a firearm like this where the two weapons are virtually the same? I can understand not stepping all the way up to a 45, as follow-up shots might suffer. BUT...that's not too much of an issue with this firearm in 40, as it has proven to be very manageable. Even most law enforcement agencies these days see benefit of 40 vs 9. Your thoughts?

I'm still thinking the XD9 subcompact is a better deal. The grip safety and the substantially greater ammo capacity makes up for the slightly bigger size, even for concealed carry.

Glock simply the best pistol for the money around. You can get a G26 for less than $500 and it is just as if nt more reliable than an M1911 and more accurate too.

I used to be a Glock basher. Then one day do to circumstance, I needed to re-qualify on short notice. So I borrowed (gasp) a Glock. And that was it, I was hooked. Now I will always have my Kimber Combat's...but now the Glock 26 is my EDC. - I also use a G 20 as my woods gun.
I have never owned a Glock and I don't own a 9mm. Everything I have read is that Glock is proven on the 9mm platform. I don't see much long term test data on the other calibers. I would want one for conceal carry. I was looking at the Glock 19. In size it is between a Glock 26 and Glock 17.

My opinion: I think limp wristing applies to all pistols (not revolvers). ALL pistols need a firm grip for the slide to react against.

Lastly, the "curse" Glocks seem to had with the .40 stems from earlier barrels being so unsupported at 6' O'clock during the 90s but stock barrels are now manufactured with more support(Google for pictures if you'd like)

@SNIPER12431243 Google it? haha...that's funny. Glocks will feed anything. I got a box of mixed 9mm ammo for my 19. Every bullet fed into the mag was different and guess what, they all shot great. Glocks are well known for their durability and the fact that you can feed them any ammo.

i find it difficult to shoot accurately at distances of 50 yards or more with out gripping very lightly. thus i have experienced many fail to feeds with my glock 23 but i do love the gun and i dont see it being problem in a self defence situation

nutnfancy: Check out the GEN4 version of the M26. I traded off mine several years ago for something I thought I wanted more....wrong move! Now need to get another and will get the new GEN4 for backup/off-duty carry.. Nice thing is I can use the mags for my M19 with it. Carry small mag in wpn with at least 1 larger mag depending on circumstances. With the old one I never had any ammo probs whether I used std 9mmP or +P+ except some increased muzzle flash and some recoil.

Great point on security! I took my 700 7mm to my buddies house this past weekend. He racked the bolt and pulled the trigger, nothing happened. Later in the afternoon I showed him how to remove the bolt and wtf there were 3 rounds in the internal mag well. I have no idea why one didn't seat when he was originally messing around, but there they were. Little tap and the spring gave way and one was chambered.

Awesome video, as are all of your vids-thank you! But I'm curious, in a nutnshell, why step down to a 9mm (from a 40), especially in a firearm like this where the two weapons are virtually the same? I can understand not stepping all the way up to a 45, as follow-up shots might suffer. BUT...that's not too much of an issue with this firearm in 40, as it has proven to be very manageable. Even most law enforcement agencies these days see benefit of 40 vs 9. Your thoughts?

I'm still thinking the XD9 subcompact is a better deal. The grip safety and the substantially greater ammo capacity makes up for the slightly bigger size, even for concealed carry.

I used to be a Glock basher. Then one day do to circumstance, I needed to re-qualify on short notice. So I borrowed (gasp) a Glock. And that was it, I was hooked. Now I will always have my Kimber Combat's...but now the Glock 26 is my EDC. - I also use a G 20 as my woods gun.

I have never owned a Glock and I don't own a 9mm. Everything I have read is that Glock is proven on the 9mm platform. I don't see much long term test data on the other calibers. I would want one for conceal carry. I was looking at the Glock 19. In size it is between a Glock 26 and Glock 17.
Any Opinions on the Glock 19?
My opinion: I think limp wristing applies to all pistols (not revolvers). ALL pistols need a firm grip for the slide to react against.

@dedred5 Today, "Kabooms" are typically attributed to either the using of lead bullets in the stock barrel or over-charged reloads; some stories, such as with the Glock 21, tell of factory loads being either over or under charged which means it could've happened to any gun. Lastly, the "curse" Glocks seem to had with the .40 stems from earlier barrels being so unsupported at 6' O'clock during the 90s but stock barrels are now manufactured with more support(Google for pictures if you'd like)
