@FindingMyWayHome11 I think you need medication. However, I agree that this is an incredibly sad song...and actually is beautiful. The paradox of all this, is that a satanic band, created one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. The satanic lyrics are a bad thing, though. Well, this is only my opinion.
@SonoftheMorning666 I can understand and respect you like dark things. But dude, the fact that me and the rest of the people preferer the light, the sun, the fuckin' beach, doesn't have anything to do with being fake or not. You don't have many friends because you only look for people like you. Hopefully, there are not many of them. Man, I hate all this satanic shit, but I'm only interested in the music of it, not the lyrics, and this is a beautiful song, wether you believe in God or not.
these are the lyrics: Our hate shall win Our evil shall grow To fix itself in young souls The final war shall we win And the blood of the good shall fall as rain Their short souls shall be gathered together We shall reign over chaos and everlasting night. We shall forget the womanly weak small mother And end all A kingdom shall raise itself In the ash of burned homeland There is only one master ruler We pay tribute to you Satan the king of the strong Your time is has come
This is in fact an incredibly sad song.. just listen to the depression and anguish and remorsefull hate of these artists... so lost and forgotten they believe the darkness will strengthen them... that the darkness is their strength.. it is only familiar... we cling to what is familiar to us and when all is lost and we know not our way... we cling to the darkness that has gotten us there.. just like people clinging for life on the gov. believe it will protect them when it will only enslave you.
if you like this then check out NEFEARA here on youtube.. type in nefearametal (1 word) in the search bar and give us a listen.. we just got our of the studio and will have a new track up in a week or so... check out our facebook too!
This is amazing.. It's 3:30 AM and I'm listening to this fairly loud watching the storm and rain.. This is truely spiritual. It amplifies the image and leaves an artistic image of darkness and comfort. Truely refreshingly spiritual.
All my life I've loved darker things. While everyone else reached for the light, god, jesus, the sun, summertime, the beach, etc...i hated it. I preferred winter, autumn, cold mountains and desolate places with just me and nature. Most people suck, because they are fake, always trying to fit in or please people...I've never had many friends, not because i was an asshole, but because everyone got on my nerves. The few friends i have i cherish, it's quality not quantity. This music is my soul.
@Helioanthrop Same here, mate! I've always loved dark things and being different, but I would honestly prefer a summer night in front of a beach where the full moon is reflected upon the sea OR a deep forest near Dracula's castle as the mountain breeze blows behind you. It's truly an amazing feeling. Stay true to the dark side, my friend! \m/
@SonoftheMorning666 Mate I've lived in Norway my entire life, and whilve you would be one of the few BM fans compared to the vast majority of my country you wouldn't feel more at home anywhere else.
@SonoftheMorning666 very true man, more touching while reading along to the song haha. Fuck people, they will never be fortunate enough to understand the aesthetics of solace.
@SonoftheMorning666 I'm exactly like that, too. And I don't have many friends either. And the ones I have have little in common with me though. I'm just a solitary soul. Only nature makes me strong and helps me cope with the loneliness. I know what you're talking about.
Winter, mountains, snow.......that's my home. Unfortunately, I live close to the sea, and people don't understand me. Nature and music are the things that keep me alive. And other interests I have, too
@SonoftheMorning666 That is because you live in reality! BM shows the real side of the life... Everyone that you "hate" are just lame actors that want to play in a fairytale! :) Take care dude and stay alive!
@SonoftheMorning666 Ah,i see.We are many then! It's because you are a ''fan'' of romanticism. You know, romanticism was a whole artistic, and literary movement at 1750-1900,and in music started with Wagner. These bands, some of them exist in black metal, are not classical, but they compose in romatic style, the influences are romantics.
@SonoftheMorning666 So,it seems to me,that because you listen to this music a lot of hours, you have been already inducted to romanticism. That's shy you love cold, dark mountains! And you dislike ''fake'' people and their behaviours.Hail,my friend, hail romanticism!!
@DarlingWicked99 hey yeah, their first 3 album, in sorte diaboli, puritanical and spiritual black dimensions are amazing, yeah abrahadabra sucks big time, but those elitists should try to listen some of their newer albums as they are very good too
I cant understand your comment, are you saying the first three albums are in sorte diaboli, PEM, and, SBD because if so my friend you are gravely mistaken.
if you guys realise, bands suddenly suck in sound and image after signing with nuclear blast records, they always overproduce the sounding of an album. stupid record company assholes.
Ok, bands maybe have to change or whatever, but For all tid and Spiritual black dimension are my best albums from Dimmu borgir (it's only my taste) and new albums don't have that soul, that feeling.. I have listened this song when i was going fishing on a lake many years ago on my casette..
I first listened to this while playing Saga Frontier in my basement. Made for good times and memories. A good soundtrack for the game. lol Also good music to relax and think about things.
ehr. Great upload and all. but i wondered something. Did you read the lyrics at all? this is not sad at all. It's probably the most infernal speech ever.
I love to listen to this song, and Inn I Evighetens Morke, and I love to headbang on Progenies, on Puritania, and on their new album. Dimmu were melodic black metal, I do not care, they were, are and will be good music. Forever and ever.
@tempion1- I agree, HOW DID THEY SELL OUT? i dont get how evolving and making higher quality music makes them sell outs? if they make a shirt for you to buy its a sell out, a belt buckle is selling out, rings are selling out, concerts are selling out. music is an industry and industries are about business and making money. to make money you must sell product and to sell product you must appeal to a crowd. apparently if you dislike the current DB album then you are not the crowd.
@myusernamesucks222 Idiot. You dont need any corporation behind you to make money in the music industry. Real musicians make money on effects and live gigs! Not on how the album is produced.
I cant belive this, this song..this song is totally magic.. when im listening this song,i feel like im in other world, world where everything is fine,no bad things at all..
I don't consider making a certain type of art, then getting rich off of it "selling-out". Saying you wont change your style or you wont do a certain thing for money then doing it for money is "selling-out" Just because Cradle and Dimmu make Black Metal and then, without changing or compromising themselves they made money from it don't make them "sell-outs". It makes them successful. They hustled, they got paid, they got theirs.
Det Nye Riket, or The New Kingdom, even tho spoken in clean by Shagrath, it is a good song. I wish Dimmu Borgir stuck to their guns and stayed under ground... But that is their wish
not only wish, but it is necesary to find a thing for eat, for sleep, i call it a job. Alwaysat the end of capitalism wil be necesary that in big quants.
I wonder if there are any bands out there that do this kind of stuff all the time, what i mean is, this song is kind of a one off on this album because it is a BLACK METAL album. so what im asking is what bands are out there that hold the same dark and beautiful theme or atmospheare as old style Melodic black metal but with out the actual Black metal,.. or without the metal i should say.
I think Dimmus were really great in For All Tid and Stormblast.
EDT is anyway an awesome album imho even if they lost their "true norwegian black metal" (who fu**ing cares) sound compared to the old cds.
PEM is a good album, there are great songs, but just nothing more.
Then I quite stopped to listen them because they totally lost their sound...I think they are now a sort of..."Symphonic Blackened Death Metal"...too much far from black metal.
@Drummerdrok666 checking the lyrics , yes , but if one doesn't know Norwegian , then they'd be fooled by the melody and think it's some sad song about pagans whining over the fact that Christians took over their lands and wish for revenge
and wait a minute , isn't the first lyric from the For All Tid song say : Evrey tear is frozen (Hver en tåre er frosset) ?
that just made me think that Det Nye Riket and For All Tid (the song) are somehow connected XD
I recon they've changed over the years, indeed they recognize it, but that doesn't mean old masterpieces like this will desappear for that. I love both "old and new" Dimmu Borgir and all their work can feature in our shelves, if we want to and can afford it!
sadly, ive only gotten to listen to Dimmu Borgir for around 2 months now. i love both new Dimmu, and i love this old, magical, pure old Dimmu, I think they should go back to this sound, i know i would buy it. sadly that Vortex and Mustis is out. and Shagrath is busy right now with Ov Hell.
i seriously don't understand why people don't like there symphonic sound, i mean i know it's completely different from the old dimmu but still, it's a whole new level....all that aside, its a great song
Dimmu is pretty much done, Shagrath started OV Hell with King which is like Old Dimmu mixed with Gorgoroth good stuff but I have to say RIP Dimmu after the parting unless they go back to this sound xD
hey why the thumbs down?? Thats true, Dimmu doesnt need vortex, black metal is not about clean vocals, fuck you guys. The best Dimmu songs are the ones vortex keeps his mouth shut ;)
@xissburg they don't need him. they were good with and without him, but i will miss his clean vocals. they brought something interesting to the black metal table.
@sllugg Sounds like a good idea but in practice it's near impossible to pull off. Come to think of it the mona lisa is pretty good but her hair needs be more modernized. or Bethoven's music needs lyrics could you work on those two things please.
@xissburg I could agree, but at the same time he is my all time favorite vocalist, when I heard him open his mouth it created such a feeling within me of awe and appriciation I couldn't help but stare and look to the distance within myself and say, "what is this magic?" What is this unmistakable beauty of a voice? Why does this haunt me so?
Even though I hate the new Dimmu, I still have to respect Shagrath, Silenoz, and Tjodalv. The first 3 albums are proof that they truly are creative people. They just succumbed to popularity, thats all. Hails to the old Dimmu Borgir.
The new Dimmu is preety much gone now. Mustis and Vortex were fired, sad thing since these 2 are great musicians, but maybe it might have a good effect in the end. Dimmu might revert to their very old style and Vortex might remake Arcturus.
From what I heard it was anymosity between them for some time, and rights on the written materials of Mustis, who according to the other members also made some mistakes at concerts. Don't know to much on why Vortex was fired, he maybe sided Mustis.
It's most likely a matter of money between them too.
@darkdanu89 For me it's the question: are they going to use another clean vocalist who will sing Vortex' parts or will they skip it. I'm looking forward how they will compensate it ^^
That's a good question. For now they don't have any shows planned as far as I know, and are currently writing their new album. I'm too curious on their move on this problem.
I hope their new material will be something with so much atmosphere and beauty in it that the music itself can be considered like something that will outstand for the rest. I really like all their albums, so I guess they don't gonna disappoint us^^
I bet they will come up with something that shows the bands true inside. I hope.. But I guess it will be awesome as always^^
I'd get the original...the remastered version has some kind of weird effect on the beginning of this same song which kinda ruins the feel/ambiance of it...for me at least.
@Slayedjudas666 - I will never, ever understand this - HOW did they sell out?? HOW? They started to play pop music? They are playing with Britney Spears?
@Slayedjudas666 Maybe it would be better that they just play their music inside their heads or inside a concret fortification thousands of kilometers away from civilization.............
@Slayedjudas666 They didn't sellout, they just went commercial, where does everyone get this idea that there sellouts? A sellout is someone who does something they don't believe in for money..... But I do agree with you, there older stuff was way better.
guys dis is gr8.... silenoz chanting.... getting goosebumps.......... bt where cn i get remasterd version of dis song????

I wonder if there are any bands out there that do this kind of stuff all the time, what i mean is, this song is kind of a one off on this album because it is a BLACK METAL album. so what im asking is what bands are out there that hold the same dark and beautiful theme or atmospheare as old style Melodic black metal but with out the actual Black metal,.. or without the metal i should say.

@wintersun234 True, probably some Slipknot wannabe fag or a rap-rap-rapper of some kind.

This song is amazing. Just PURE ART, imho.

Is Silenoz singing this?
KapaH8sU 1 year ago
@KapaH8sU No, this is Shagrath's voice.
Silenoz did the lead vocals on this album.

this is not "sad" it is fuckin hate full. makes me wanna kill every christian scum in Norway.......
Drummerdrok666 1 year ago 4
@Drummerdrok666 checking the lyrics , yes , but if one doesn't know Norwegian , then they'd be fooled by the melody and think it's some sad song about pagans whining over the fact that Christians took over their lands and wish for revenge
and wait a minute , isn't the first lyric from the For All Tid song say : Evrey tear is frozen (Hver en tåre er frosset) ?
that just made me think that Det Nye Riket and For All Tid (the song) are somehow connected XD

Defiantly one of the best Dimmu Borgir songs.

VI HYLLER DEG SATAN, DE STERKES KONGE!!!!! holy shit how epic
Drummerdrok666 1 year ago
I recon they've changed over the years, indeed they recognize it, but that doesn't mean old masterpieces like this will desappear for that. I love both "old and new" Dimmu Borgir and all their work can feature in our shelves, if we want to and can afford it!

so this is the old version?

I am a new Dimmu fan and I thought the old Dimmu wouldn't be as good as the new, but I was wrong! This is just as good if not better! \m/

If you think this song is good, try Alt Lys Er Svunnet Hen or Under Korpens Vinger.

sadly, ive only gotten to listen to Dimmu Borgir for around 2 months now. i love both new Dimmu, and i love this old, magical, pure old Dimmu, I think they should go back to this sound, i know i would buy it. sadly that Vortex and Mustis is out. and Shagrath is busy right now with Ov Hell.
Hail Dimmu Borgir
TheSvperstar 2 years ago
i seriously don't understand why people don't like there symphonic sound, i mean i know it's completely different from the old dimmu but still, it's a whole new level....all that aside, its a great song

Dimmu is pretty much done, Shagrath started OV Hell with King which is like Old Dimmu mixed with Gorgoroth good stuff but I have to say RIP Dimmu after the parting unless they go back to this sound xD

by the way..Great song here.
love the old skool Dimmu.
Hail.
sha6kin6la6ree 2 years ago
sort of sad the parting of Vortex and Mustis...loved the Dimmu line-up with them included.
hope they can find some equally talented musicians to replace them, if not better.
especially so for Vortex and his unique singing.
sha6kin6la6ree 2 years ago 3
@sha6kin6la6ree Dimmu Borgir doesnt need Vortex...
xissburg 2 years ago
@xissburg
I could agree with you there, but some songs may need him.
They did well without him, but he's great still
KapaH8sU 2 years ago
hey why the thumbs down?? Thats true, Dimmu doesnt need vortex, black metal is not about clean vocals, fuck you guys. The best Dimmu songs are the ones vortex keeps his mouth shut ;)
xissburg 2 years ago
@xissburg they don't need him. they were good with and without him, but i will miss his clean vocals. they brought something interesting to the black metal table.
beaumino 2 years ago
@xissburg what's wrong with trying something new? It may not sound good but at least they try to do different things
sllugg 1 year ago
@sllugg Sounds like a good idea but in practice it's near impossible to pull off. Come to think of it the mona lisa is pretty good but her hair needs be more modernized. or Bethoven's music needs lyrics could you work on those two things please.
heretherenothing 1 year ago
@xissburg I could agree, but at the same time he is my all time favorite vocalist, when I heard him open his mouth it created such a feeling within me of awe and appriciation I couldn't help but stare and look to the distance within myself and say, "what is this magic?" What is this unmistakable beauty of a voice? Why does this haunt me so?

This song is so sad. I think on my old times with Dimmu Borgir. :(
Ilharess84 2 years ago
There's a statement on their homepage about the split. Maybe they'll return to that subtle-melodic black metal style again =)

Hate to say it, but that's just wishful thinking.

sebas379 2 years ago
Even though I hate the new Dimmu, I still have to respect Shagrath, Silenoz, and Tjodalv. The first 3 albums are proof that they truly are creative people. They just succumbed to popularity, thats all. Hails to the old Dimmu Borgir.
igotwoodhaha 2 years ago 2
The new Dimmu is preety much gone now. Mustis and Vortex were fired, sad thing since these 2 are great musicians, but maybe it might have a good effect in the end. Dimmu might revert to their very old style and Vortex might remake Arcturus.
darkdanu89 2 years ago 3
why where they fired?
Blackheartded 2 years ago
From what I heard it was anymosity between them for some time, and rights on the written materials of Mustis, who according to the other members also made some mistakes at concerts. Don't know to much on why Vortex was fired, he maybe sided Mustis.
It's most likely a matter of money between them too.
darkdanu89 2 years ago
okay cool thanks ;-P
Blackheartded 2 years ago
@darkdanu89 For me it's the question: are they going to use another clean vocalist who will sing Vortex' parts or will they skip it. I'm looking forward how they will compensate it ^^
Tommeke11 2 years ago
That's a good question. For now they don't have any shows planned as far as I know, and are currently writing their new album. I'm too curious on their move on this problem.
darkdanu89 2 years ago
@darkdanu89 Yeah me too!:D

Which version should i buy? the original 1994 version or the re-release 1997 version? is thier any diffrences?
gam3rman 2 years ago
i don't komw of there's any diffrence, but i 'd a;ways go for the original
cos its the original
lomion200 2 years ago 2
I'd get the original...the remastered version has some kind of weird effect on the beginning of this same song which kinda ruins the feel/ambiance of it...for me at least.
KornMaggot881 2 years ago
the original absolutely. No question about it... The difference is the sound and the feeling.

@Slayedjudas666 What do you mean by Dimmu selling out?
Kalmah954 1 year ago
@Slayedjudas666 - I will never, ever understand this - HOW did they sell out?? HOW? They started to play pop music? They are playing with Britney Spears?
tempion1 1 year ago
@Slayedjudas666 Maybe it would be better that they just play their music inside their heads or inside a concret fortification thousands of kilometers away from civilization.............
MsPocketMonsters 1 year ago
@Slayedjudas666 They didn't sellout, they just went commercial, where does everyone get this idea that there sellouts? A sellout is someone who does something they don't believe in for money..... But I do agree with you, there older stuff was way better.
