I saw this when released in '85, it wasn't deleted. What happened was they made two versions of the film, one with lots of gore and special effects, one with more sex and flesh , and a variety of scenes were cut from the two versions.

One of a few deleted scenes that definitely should've remained in the final cut. This scene in particular explains EVERYTHING. OH HEY IT WAS MIND-CONTROL YOU GUYS. Jesus.
And then there's the scene with Dan enabling West's reagent addiction, which is...words can not express. And Herbert made traumatized!Dan a sandwich. WHY WAS THIS CUT
This film keeps coming out on DVD with more and more extras...why not just have an edition with the R and unrated versions both on it? The deleted and extended scenes do not do the R-rated version justice and they are not even complete!
This part wasn't cut! It was on the VHS, but on the dvd they cut down the parts and put it in Extended scenes not deleted; personally they probably thought it too long and this part has been shown on the scifi channel alot.
