Yes, it is too bad they didnt have access to bibles, and what i was trying to say was that the "evidence" was that Jesus had already died for our sins so they didnt need go on ahead and torcher themselves, not that the actual cure was written in the bible. But i understand that those were desperate times and since constant prayer and confession of sins seemed to be having little effect on the death toll, people decided to go to extremes. Kthanksbye.
