  • I am so absolutely impressed by this. Teach me, please !

  • as you are? do for a long time that I do not see more a video of his sculptures that happened?

  • @tamir1979 I'm not sure what you are trying to say. Do you mean that since I've been here a long time you would think there would be more sculpture videos but you're not seing any?

  • @JimSweet do excuse my bad English, it bothers me not seeing more his videos, you are well? I made enough progress in my sculptures, eh you are an inspiration

  • dude pls tell me how u sculpted a chest like the 6 pack and all pls.

  • @Liang32080 You're lying.

  • I gave you a thumbs up! Whoever gave thumbs down are just jealous or completely stupid.

  • @Villantic Thanks man. I don't care about the rating thing. I guess if it gets a good rating more poeple will see it or something. The rating to me means people should rate the videos, so I agree that the video itself isn't too good. Plus some people are just curious what the video is and they click on it and don't like the video, the Hulk or sculpture so they probably just click thumbs down for the hell of it. It means nothing anyway. I should just disable that feature.

  • @JimSweet Do you sell your sculptures? Not that I have the money I was just curious. That is the best Hulk sculpture I've ever seen!

  • @Villantic I’ve made a couple of sculptures for another person who paid me for those. I haven't really sold any of the ones I made for myself and I haven’t sold any castings of my own stuff yet except for some bad castings of a Horngirl statue and see, hear and speak no evil gargoyles. I need to learn what resins to use and how to make a good mold. I’m working on a Kirk head right now and I’m going to see how I can sell it and try to make copies of that one.

  • My goodness this is incredible! Don't pardon the pun.

  • @Villantic Thanks for this other comment too.

  • 4:12 schwarzenegger ???

  • @JimSweet Lastly, this video is great and hitting well. If you take another with a better camera and camera work and with a little simple editing and well lit and with more colour, you will probably double or at least get 50% more than this one. Cheers.

  • i bet you was looking at jay cutler to craft the mass

  • de que estan hechos los pantalones? de tela o de super sculpey?

  • THIS IS ABSOLUTE SHIT...WOW A SCULPTURE OF THE HULK,,EXCUSE ME WHILE I GO FOR A WANK COS I`M SO IMPRESSED...

  • @lestheo I can't tell if this means you like it or you don't.

  • @JimSweet Jim, That's dead funny, your response. 11/10 for leaving his comment up.

From one Artist to another, this is amazing. I come back to it every few months, to get that hit, that only something as good as this, can deliver. Regards.

  • @JimSweet And I forgot (I also said it about a year ago) I see Bertil Fox in the arms. Tell me I'm wrong!

  • @lestheo Thank you. I'm glad you're impressed. Takes a while to sit and sculpt anything, so I appreciate your compliment.

  • How on Earth, HOW ON EARTH!! can any one thumb this down ??? Jesus, what do some people want? Look at this long and hard from any angle you like and it just gets better and better and better. I am an Artist and some people call me gifted, so trust me, this is sculpted be a very rare talent indeed.

  • Man all I can say is that you're like a modern day Rodin. The videos of your sculptures are astounding and inspiring. The realism of your pieces, damn!, is just awesome. He looks like he could breathe and man those teeth look so real. What type of armature do you use ? Wire or pipe?

  • esta hecho con arcilla?

  • el mejor!!! muy bien hecho!

  • @tamir1979 Hombre de gracias. Lo aprecio.

  • Comment removed

  • I love the classic look of the whole pice it is excellent and has that great feel of power and aggression in that classic hulk way.

    Great and admirable work.

  • ABSOLUTELY AWESOME JIM! I made a hulk sculpture too. Yours blows mine outta the water though! check out my channel for my latest sculpt I did. thanks! Keep up the great work!

  • @morbidious You only have one video on there but I like the sculpt. I remember those types of monter hot rod drawings when I was a kid. Put the hulk on there I'd like to see it.

  • @JimSweet Just go look at my myspace page. I am called skullptor on there. look in my pics section and you'll see my hulk sculpt along with all my other sculpts too.

  • Jim, this is great. I used to train with Bertil Fox years ago before he went to the States. I know his physique well and i swear when I view your statue, I see his arms, especially in the triceps. I see his back too although your Hulk's is more flared. This is a vey very good sculpture, and I know what I'm talking about. But hey, you know that already. Regards, Roman.

  • Omg u made that???O.O super awesome

  • Hi jim.....i love action figures! im 38yrs old and still like a little kid. I have a friend who has thousands of figurines but i can't afford it :-(.... even tho this has nothing to do with sculpting i can't draw to save myself so would that hinder me being able to make them?

  • You've really done a top job on oversizing the muscularity !, the body is great !. He looks ridiculously strong !. just the way he should be !.

  • Jesus christ, you've got the camera shoved so far up the incredible green ass!

  • Hello Jim Sweet. Is there a book out there that more or less teaches you this extreme clay work. I have several but none like this.

    Thanks

    J

  • I'm pretty sure there are almost step by step processes on the internet somewhere. All you need is to put an armature underneath and what ever you make is up to whatever talent you have.

  • You'd need polymere clay, some wire for an armature, some sculpting tools and some paint. If you search for things relating to sculpting figures or models you'll find more info on it.

  • Cool he actually has the original incredible hulk eyes. How long did it take you to do this and how did you learn?

  • About six months to finish the whole thing. I learned by doing.

  • What are the things needed to do this. I think it is amazing, I can draw but I always wanted to turn my characters into models.

  • Wow the musculature is incredible! Amazing piece or work dude!

  • I WANT THAT HULK!!!!

  • chek out my batman of course thats a wip ( not finish )

  • I would really like to learn how to sculpt from you..

  • Can that be classified as Reproduction Art?

  • I guess it can be call anything since words and everything is just made up. I just stick to the basic made up words. A statue I made.

  • ya you sculpted it- too bad you can't use it

betta get a lic. these farts are getting real picky even if it's just for "creativity"- really odd actually - so where do you work?

  • I use it all the time. It's on my self being used as a statue. I will always make what I want anytime I want. The only they if I sell it it's a different story. I don't work for an employer doing sculptures if that what you want to know about what I do for work.

  • Jim, I really like how you did this Hulk.

I like how you added a bits of old school 'SMASH!" Hulk, as well as unmistakeable traits from the Ferigno/ Bixby Hulk, too.

extra brownie points for the music selection... LOL

  • wo0w nice jeans !! what is size&trade mark name?

  • Danm.. I had to pose for hours for them to sculpt this statue by using my body!

  • very good work congrats!!

  • wow dude that more incredible than the hulk him self

just fix ure camera skills and youll be best ever

  • AMAZING!!!! you are my idol! jk

    but great work!!

  • Oh crap, i just wrote a longer post. But apparently it didn't make it through. To sum it up: AWESOME CUSTOM! Really love the anatomy on this one.

Instead of selling the whole thing, have you thought about "dismembering" the custom, creating molds, and casting some blank assembly parts of it that you can sell? Just from fan to fan, not officially. In total this will definitely earn you more money than just selling the whole original thing. :)

  • Oh and by blank assembly parts i mean, something that the buyers would be able to custom paint at home (after glueing the whole statue together). Less work for seller. I see these kind of 'from-fans-for-fans'-projects happen on message boards. This way gifted artists can distribute their amazing scultping works among fans and still earn a nice little extra money, without loosing the original.

  • I really never get tired to see this amazing work. :)

  • Would it be copyright infringement if you sell it? I'm curious because I want to do what you are doing, but I'm afraid it would be a bit too risky. They couldn't trace you anyway, could they?

  • Not really your not a major corporation selling in mass quantity you can always say it was just one that was for an example or a customer request they don't really go after small guys I see people selling custom starwars pieces all the time keyword being custom. Not really sure about when you start getting noticed though. They also have something called (sub licensing agreements)look into that:)

  • dude...... u cold become VERY RICH man.........

  • how the fuck do manage to do something like that...wow.. i dont beleive u... its tooo nice and detailed... like really... wow... if its really u.. great job.. wow

  • just imagine the blood, sweat, and tears that went into that thang there! pretty sweet! don't ever sell! if they want it that bad they can have a dupe.

  • WOW Skillfull my friend, easily the best Hulk statue I have seen. The effect of the pants ripping is fantastic

  • Go get it massproduced for toystores, etc., this one is original and will look the best and be of highest value anyways. Artists like you come handy in Hollywood, contact them.

  • offering $2500

  • That's not a bad offer. Best one so far.

  • are you interested

  • loooooooooooool

  • wow... amazing. I'm a big fan of the hulk and this is pretty much the best version of seen outside the comics.

  • nice

  • He looks perfect! I love it.

  • 配樂很有才!

  • Soundtrack is only? I don't understand what you mean by this. This video does have the original TV show soundtrack in it, yes. Not only that but it has video of a sculpture I made to go along with the audio of the soundtrack.

  • SORRY

My English always not very good

I want to say you video clips and background music integration of good!

    very good!

    Chinese:

    對不起!

    我英語一直不好

    我想說你得拍攝的短片和背景音樂融合得不錯!

  • No problem. I tried to translate it but maybe the translation wasn't to good either. at least you speak two languages, I only speak one and not very good.

  • Dude, you are a genius. Congratulations for this beautiful work. I study sculpture and it is the best hulk figure that i have seen. A perfect balance, the notion of movement and power. Amazing. Or Incredible! :)

  • Well I'm glad you think I'm a genius. Thanks about the sculpture too. The studying sculpture comment throws me a little though. Are you studying the materials needed to make sculpture or studying other people's work and how they use forms, emotion and so on? Because I can see studying how to make and what is needed to make sculptures but I can't see studying sculptures. I would think it's better to study all real objects so you can sculpt them if you want. Post some stuff if you make some.

  • no action

  • I don't get what you mean.

  • Don't worry about him bro, the statue is cool. I got the Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman statue myself. It's a nice one too. I've always had a thing for her, and I always dug the Hulk's musice. Classic stuff, from a great time to be a kid :D

  • I wasn't worried I just don't know what he means. Because you'd think that if people don't get the video that they would look for more info some where on the page like in the description if they know there's a description. So I have to assume he doesn't know about it and his comment is so vague I assume he means the statue doesn't move or video doesn't have an action scene or something. I should have just wrote read the description if you want to know why "no action".

  • Anyway it's a waste thinking about it. Yeah the TV Show is still the best Hulk live action right now.

  • DAMN!Your good.

  • Thanks. I'm glad you think that. I think so too but I'd rather have someone else say it. haha

  • that look amazing! combined with the music it reminds me so much of the tv show, it has a great scale

  • Thanks. I think if the movie used this design it could have the feel of the TV show but with just a little more then Lou painted green.

  • Excellent! Have you ever approached anyone to get this manufactured as a limited ed statue? I think you should. Can you give me a few tips in modelling sculpey? Any books you might recommend; how you made the armeture for this. etc.

  • Thanks. I talked to Marvel very little about it. They didn't seem to have any info to give me at the time. There's so much to cover about making a statue and using sculpey that it would be easier for you to google tips on it then for me to give them to you. I know there's a lot of basic info out there on te web that can get you started. Sometime I'll give more info of how I do things I just don't have the time right now.

  • Absolutely menacing, your statue manages to convey the hulk's rage-like disposition and form--his muscularity, symetry, and also a sense of movement. Perhaps your next sculpture of the hulk will have him adopting a more flat expression as he effortlessly demonstrates his immense strangth (maybe you can make him arm wrestling with the juggernaut).

  • Thank you. I plan to make another sometime.

  • thats a great hulk sculpture

  • Thanks. I'm glad other people like it too.

  • WOW, I didn't read the discription before my first comment. YOU MADE THAT, man that is fucking cool. You rock!

  • See... you found the description. Thanks.

  • i have a way beder one of this 1

  • Oh yeah..well my dad has more tools then your dad and they are the beddyest kynds ewe kan got. Why do I feel like Joe Bauers in the movie Idiocracy.

  • :-D

  • Thanks for lookin.

  • I 1st "found" this on yor myspace page. #1. Don't part with yor original 4 any money. Just cast some good copies. #2.U made it perfectly, but I kno an artist can be his own worst critic. #3. I've seen some awesome work on Hulk sculptures, professional or otherwise. Yorz iz the tightest so far. #4. Ur the 1st person that felt the exact sentiment as i about the movie version. It was OK but their Hulk just wasn't "grotesque" enuf. Anyway, you yet another great inspiration 2 an aspiring artist!

  • Thanks man. I probably won't make any copies now since it's painted and I don't want poeple messing with it when they have to rip off the rubber mold. I probably won't sell it either but I bet it will break sometime, someway like most things I make. Thanks for looking and the comments. Check out my Terminator sculpture too I just put it up the other day.

  • you made this...great job

  • Yup..Thanks and thanks for reading the description too.

  • LoL! I remember they used to jam this music on the show. It always made me feel both happy and sad, simultaneously. It's like the feeling that there's satisfying retribution taking over the spirit.

  • I know what you mean. I was listening to a soundtrack from the old Frankenstein movie someone let me borrow once and I think the composer lifted a small peice of that for the Hulk score. The piano at the end of the show though was really sad sounding.

  • I think that would be cool if they worked them into the movie even if they changed them a little. The show is still better then the first movie. I hope the new one uses a lot of the show style or idea.

  • it's not hulk 2 statue, it's 1 because 2nd one, his hair became longer.

  • It's neither one. It's just my version of the Hulk. I explain it all in the description.

  • oh sorry because i dont read the description

  • No problem. I don't either.

  • Nice model.

    You're right about the movie.

Hulk did not look MONSTER enough.

He actually looked too handsome. I heard they did that purposely to attract a larger female audience!!!! Can you believe that?

Your vision is much more in line with the old Jack Kirby style from the early 60's.

Do you do custom commission work?

    Are these resin models?

  • That's such a stupid reason. Like females are going to say to themselves. "Oh the HULK is so hot." I also saw in the making of the movie that they tried to keep Eric Bana's face in the Hulk somewhat too. I don't know why they think like that.

  • Oh yeah. I do like the older style of him better where he's cavemanish. I'm thinking about doing some custom work. Like some more one of a kind things and selling them. I don't make resin models though. I made a Marv statue for someone who reproduced it and got paid for the sculpt but not the knockoff's. Why, where you thinking of having something done?

  • sweet doll

  • Thanks. I like to use my Barbie's and Hulk together.

  • ++first i thougth wtf what is the point in this but the music was good then i read the description and that is a freaking goood sculpture its nice u are goood at this i hope u can get paid someday for your sculptures great work ;)

  • Thanks man. I know, people probably think I'm just videoing a statue I bought and putting it to Hulk music which would be what the fuck.

  • man, that sculpture is so damn good, when you see the close up of the feet your really feel the weight of the character. Good job, i dont know if the sculptor posted this but its still AWESOME

  • Thanks. I'm glad you checked ou tthe video. I'm sure people are thinking it's just a figure you buy at the store with music going along with it and they open it and close it fast. I am the the guy how sculpted it too. check out my other stuff on my myspace link in the desciption if you want.

  • awesome...but take some stills of it and re post a vid...i need my motion sickness pills for this one! would love to see in more detail. thanks!

  • I replied to this before but I guess it didn't work. I'll try to do that. There are some still pics on my sculpture page. Click the link in the discription and then go to Jim Sweet Sculpture. There's a few stills there.

  • NICE!!! Thanks for the description too! One thing for the future, maybe hold the camera steady and rotate the model instead of the other way around. Outstanding...

  • Thanks. Yeah I kinda made it on the fly. I had to hold the light and the camera at the same time. I'll try using a rotating base next time but I kinda like the messy video better.

  • This needs to be put into production!!! I'd love to buy this one!! This statue is just as cool as the Sideshow collectables one that came out about a year ago! In fact in some ways, this one is better!!! Great work man!

  • Thanks. I'm planning on making another one in a different position. Maybe I can sell to the highest bidder.

  • I am not easy to impress, but this is very good. Nice job.

  • Thanks a lot.

  • did you seriously do that? WOW thats awesome

  • Yes and thanks.

  • wow nice ACTION FIGURE!!

  • Thanks. Not as nice as my Star Wars action figures though. I just played with them yesterday under my bed sheets with my flash light so my mom couldn't see me.

  • this is a great statue!!!! like the old show music also!!1

  • Thanks.

  • That is bad ass beyond belief.

  • I like to hear that (or read that I guess). Thanks.

  • The BEST Hulk statue I've seen. You did this in 1998? Beautiful! There is, and has been nothing that would come close to the quality of your sculpture of this Hulk. Your understanding of muscle, and proportion is exactly how Hulk should be.

I am a fan of Dale Keown' take of the Hulk, and now a fan of your sculpting talent. Absolutely fantastic! Thank you for your description on this sculpture as-well.

  • Thanks. Yes in 1998 and I still don't like the way he looks in the new movie trailer. I think I know muscles pretty good and if I have trouble I use a good reference. I'm not sure what they use to make there model. Looks like they use the action figures for reference.

  • That is really cool.Really authentic job Jim.I like the rip down the side of the trousers too.

  • Thank you. Yeah I figured his pants would rip more at the seams instead of being all frayed at the waist and bottoms of the legs like that comic book.

  • you got talent pal.

  • Thanks.

  • man ur somthing else...AMAZING...wish u think about (GUTS) BERSERK STATUE

  • Thanks. I had no idea who that was until I looked it up. Not realy interested in making him though.

  • OMG THATS AMAZING

  • Thanks. I'm glad you think so.

  • Dude you have some serious talent. awesome work.

  • Thanks man.

  • Dude!!! that this is bad ass!!!! Holy crap!!! love it!!!! How much do you want for it!?

  • Thanks man. Coming from a big collector like you that means a lot. I don't think I'll sell it. Because what could I get for a one of a kind statue when the other sculpting co. pay $4000 to $5000 for the statues they use to make knock offs?

  • Man! it just kick so much ass!!! I love Andys Sculpt very Kerby but yours! its so original! and bad ass!!! My hulk collection is never going to fill complete!!!lol!! But Great Work man!! amazing. Im guessing you sculpt for a leaving?

  • Haha. Thanks again. I made a bust too but I need to redo it. I don't like the eyes and hair to much. It just needs to be redone. I'll post it on here sometime. I have a none painted version on my myspace page. The link is in the description. Check out my Terminator bust there too. You have to go to the sculptures section. I don't sculpt for a living. I work at UPS part time nights laoding boxes into trucks. It's the stupidest job ever.

  • lol! Dude! WTF!!! you kick ass at sculpting!!! Im sure! you can get some freelance somewhere!!Man i wish you worked for sideshow! that would rule! Im sure you would do some amazing stuff!!

  • I replied to this but I guess it didn't take. Like I told kymeracomics, that's seems to be one of my problems I guess they'd call it. I like the Hulk so it was good to work on him. Working on things that I'm not really into is to much like a job and it becomes just as bad and toturous as any other job. I'd rather do a mindless job and save my creative energy for things I really want to see. Would like to make a Bill Bixby(Banner) statue to go with a Lou Ferrigno(Hulk)bust or statue sometime.

  • one of the best sculptures and concepts Ive ever seen fron the 2 seconds of a glance at the other comments I think I agree the best hulk concept Ive ever seen exactly what it should look like!!! ...awsome

  • Hey thanks jungle man Jim. I really appreciate that. Makes me feel like doing more stuff and that my ideas are worth something or there is potential for other people to have an interest in them.

  • I agree I think this is exactly what the hulk should look like.

Unfortunately it'll take a TON of top notch CGI teams to articulate just how exaggerated this hulk looks, though.

I bet Jackson & Weta could pull it off. I bet you 20 bucks.

(but we already know they aren't doing the new movie)

  • I'm glad you like it. I bet they could do it too. They did King Kong right? If that's who Weta is then I'm sure they'd have no problem making him look real or real enough. So I can't take the bet because I agree. So far to me King Kong is the best CGI looking character along with Gollum.

  • Agreed. It's been a while since I've seen a movie 3 times in the theatre, but I kept going back b/c of how masterfully done it was.

I must say- I highly respect your work. Where are you based? Any advice for an aspiring Frazetta? (aside from introducing myself to Frank Frazetta. Already in the works)

  • Thanks. I'm rooted in Millbury Massachusetts. Are you making a Frazetta sculputer? My advice is just to get some good reference material.

  • Jim, it is excellent for what you intended it to be, i too take pics of figures ive got that look cool, diff angles. MY Puppet vid of my EDDY that 'sings'Someday isnt fully understood neither, but was fun shooting it

  • OOOO

  • The musik is good but tere need to be action in yur movie(ore comedi)

  • Well the video itself is not suppose to be an entertaining story or anything. It's was simply made purely just to show the statue I made in all views. I don't know about you but I like to see more then a still photograph of something so I made this video to offer more to whom are interested in see my statue more then in just a still photo.

  • Also my movies don't need action or comedy. They are my movies and they need exactly what I put in them. You meant to say you need to see movies with action or comedy.

  • This video suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I new e good movie!Look the hulk klik This week en look for the movie whit text cool video i made him mayself plz vote so go look!

  • Wow you talk just like the Hulk. Where do you want me to look? I agree, the video does suck.

  • the video dos'nt suck its just so cool and he cant deal with that so he say that it sucks

  • Thanks man. But I know what he meant but he just didn't bother reading the discription. I kinda like the way the video looks too in it's hand held style.

  • So will you accept £20 for it??

  • Sold.

  • It's an absolutely beautiful piece! I'd love to have it on my shelves. :)

With a talent like yours, you could work for Bowen Design, Art Asylum or any other producer of busts and statues.

  • Thanks. Yeah that's seems to be one of my problems I guess they'd call it. I like the Hulk so it was good to work on him. Working on things that I'm not really into is to much like a job and it becomes just as bad and toturous as any other job. I'd rather do a mindless job and save my creative energy for things I really want to see.

  • Maybe if I was supplied with good reference material for other things i wouldn't mind as much because I've tried to do other things with limited references and it's such a pain in my ass. Even when I was asked to intern for three months at Hasbro. They supplied you with crap for reference. Makes it so miserable to do a job. That's why making things up is much better to me.

  • And it's a bit late to work on the Hulk movie now. ;)

  • Yeah never know. Before Ed Norton decided to make the Hulk I was hoping different directors would want to show there version of the Hulk. So since Ed is doing it maybe other poeple will do it and They'd ask me to do the Hulk design. Yeah that will happen. haha.

  • Can draw, can sculpt, can uh I dunno what else... but you are a man of many talents and that is admirable. This is coming from a recluse who can't separate his ass from the computer chair. What do you mean by you baked the teeth, eyes, fingers etc etc? to harden them I guess? just seems like the same process would apply to the whole thing. But I might of missed something. Peace.

  • Yeah I have trouble getting away from the computer myself. Maybe someday I'll figure out a way to make money using my talents in a way that I can do my own things or things I like and not just pump out crap other people want me to do. Poeple are always saying, "You draw? I know what I could have you do. You can draw my Niece." Yeah that's why I draw, hoping to draw your Niece someday.
