I was there in 2003. The 'situation' was volatile between India and Pakistan, and I was warned to not go. But, OMG, it was the MOST amazing experience of my life! I was traveling with my (then) 6 year old daughter. As such, we were ALWAYS considered family...given the BEST room, ate with families in their quarters, while the youngish single groups of adults were kept in separate quarters. We had the BEST experience EVER! REALLY got to know the culture! Have kids? Then YOU are IN!
