  • What is that u have at the bridge? A sponge or foam?  Why?

  • @shooz4u It's a strip of bath foam. What it does is to take out some of the sustain and treble from the sound of the string, and make it a lot 'thuddier.' The original fender basses had a big bell cover on, and that cover had a strip of foam underneath it which did the same thing. It's a great effect....costs about $1!
