He is having a drug as amphetamine. If you want to understand this, please watch "Maiden Rose - Hyakujitsu no Bara 3rd Vol. October 2008 " at 2:50.

In Maiden Rose comic Volume2, he said to Dr.Suguri about his past.When he was in his mother country as a pilot, he needed to use drugs against his fear in the battlefield. Taki hates such a habit so Klaus tries to hide this fact, only Dr.Suguri knows it.

Ok so he used to take drugs for his fear of the battlefield; when I read the previous chapters I thought his shoulder was really hurting; so he took them as much as he can so can join the battle on the train; but in reality he took them to overcome his fear; that is the case right?

I think he used drugs also to stop his pain. However he needs drugs now. Your idea must be more realistic because he had once stopped drugs after coming to Taki's country until he made a sally to stop the train from Eurote. Anyway, he is injured every time, so we cannot see whether it is his habit or to kill his pain.

I can say only one thing that Klaus would take a risk of his body to protect Taki. It is his love to Taki.

Q1.For Taki, his sword as Japanese Katana is a symbol of his position and condition now, so when his Katana will be broken, it will be the time of his death.From these words, he ordered to Klaus as "Do not die before me".

Q2.I do not know I am afraid.I have nor read a new chapter yet so I cannot answer you right now. Sorry.

Thank you for translating this. This chapter is awesome, my favorite part was when Taki cried because he was hurt by Klaus' deceit. He's so sensitive behind his warrior stance, which is incredibly cute ^__^
