Through a form line with Hawk Wing (and taking into account it should never have won the Guineas if Hawk Wing had been ridden properly) it was never the horse that the British Media wanted it to be. The defeats the horse had proved its limitations, and to be fair it only got the hype in the UK because a Govan Hun was meant to be a part owner. Alas it emerged his stake in the horse was as fragile as a lepor's grip.

Rock of Gibraltar: definitely the best miler of this decade.

Goldikova seems to have a lot of class, and her acceleration in the BC Mile was really impressive, but in my opinion we need to see more of her in the future as to know how good she is

Zarkava era una gran yegua, pero yo creo que sus victorias en la milla no fueron contra caballos adultos de la calidad de Landseer o Sahara Desert. Si es cierto que ella enfrentó a Goldikova, pero en mi opinión sus carreras en la milla fueron muy pocas para compararse con Rock Of Gibraltar. Si fue una mejor yegua en general, pero para mi no fue mejor millera.

Rock Of Gibraltar won every race that he ran in Europe after the 2,000 Guineas with such ease it was incredible. I think he was underrated because he was never asked to go clear of his rivals as a three year old. For me his best performance was in America because it was on that day that Mick Kinane really asked him to go and he produced an amazing turn of foot to make a huge amount of ground from an impossible position.
