i got a friend-black nigerian and she had her front hair just below her arm-pit but her nape just cut all d time= same as urs... d hair all over our head is a diffrent texture n curl size.. just take a look a black babies n u will c wat im talking about... dey got this very distinct hair pattern... its just how it is. no worries. lotof us adults still got baby hair in the back..

It really does work...I grew out about 2-2.5 in. in a month or less. on the other hand if i didnt dilute it with something I got major headaches and that wasnt normal for me..and once I stopped using it my hair started shedding like crazy I used Optimum's anti breakage and left Monistat alone 4 good

@nchollywood ...If monistat worked for suicidesEve it should work for you too. Just pay close attention to your scalp, dilute it to avoid headaches and enjoy your growth!

Can you tell me what your experience with the product Megatek is? How do you like it, how are you using it on a daily basis? I heard you can get breakage, because of the protein, how do you keep it from breaking, and keep it soft?

@mygodisable2 ...I only used 1 bottle of Megatek because of the cost. I had no breakage, Its been a while since I used it but I remember co-washing in the morning, applying Megatek as my leave-in. So it basically got washed out daily. I used it in the beginning of my journey when I wore back to back cornrows under lace and home made wigs.

i have always had long hair all of my life and now im trying to grow it out since i damaged it to the point of breaking off, but even when my hair was past my chest lenght the nape of my neck never was longer than 3 inches.. are you sure that the nape is even supposed to grow out ?

I've learned to keep the thinner parts of my hair braided across instead of straight to the front or back. I think this keeps the tension down. Anyhoo, I've seen a few inches of growth/increased thickness in that area (top of head covered by wigs) especially after i began applying castor/coconut oil mix. I hope this helps you and I will definitely try the monistat.

@realdealfoxyblaq ...for a while after I did this challenge I didnt notice that my night cap was coming up in the back and my nape was rubbing against my pillow and covers the whole night...I guess I was sleeping hard..idk

@Godismines ...I did not have any problems with my cream, I mixed it with an oil and didint over do it so it worked just fine. Now after I used it I failed to keep moisture on my nape so it broke back off like dry hair tends to do.

So you used monistat on your nape area for about a month or a year? I am in the same boat as you. I have been natural for a year and some months and my nape area is just not responding to anything at all. Although I am still kind of worried about using a topical cream on my hair though, but it is worth a try. I hope by the time I am two years natural, my nape will have made some progress. Whaty type monistat did you use?

I've been doing the ghe since Aug 24, 2011- Present. Everyday!! I oil my scalp w/ either castor oil or olive oil. Plus I add moisture to my hair(basically, in a 4oz bottle I mix water, oil of choice and megatek & I spray it onto my hair.) Next, I twist my hair in a protective style. I put on my plastic hair bags (sometimes TWO plastic bags). After, I tie my hair. AND I SAW NO RESULTS CONCERNING GROWTH!! :( Bummer! :( However, I notice my hair doesnt break as much!b :) But that's it.

@sweetiepie9411 ...Some people have reported headaches when its not mixed with enough oil/water. I personally read that long term use can cause cancer. I would do some research on it. Its been over a year since I used it so I don't remember anything else right now as far as potential problems.

@cocomodiva ...I used to in the beginning of my journey until I realized that I was trimming off all my new growth and I didnt have any split ends. So now I do not trim nor sweep unless needed, I check my ends weekly and they have been doing good since I dont use heat right now and limit my chemicals.

@damphatty ...When I didn't use enough oil, I experienced slight headaches. Other than that no problems.
