It isn't a bad music, but I would surely like an electronic only version of this theme, and it would alternaly play at this dungeon every time you entered it. (*_*)
I also like the Fanatic's Tower Theme, and the Floating Continent Theme. Purely Epic! (*_*)
Best Final Fantasy Final Dungeons: 10 - FF13 - Orphan's Cradle 9 - FF1 - Chaos's Shrine 8 - FF8 - Ultimecia's Castle 7 - FF12 - Sky Fortress Bahamut 6 - FF3 - The World of Darkness 5 - FF5 - Interdimensional Rift 4 - FF7 - The Northern Crater 3 - FF9 - Memoria/Crystal World 2 - FF6 - Kefka's Tower 1 - FF4 - The Lunar Core IMO Numbers 2 and 1 are quite close and this is just mah opinion anyway.
There all good to me all the music from FF1-9 are all equally good, 10 is good but descends a little bit and then 12, and 13 music well why there ok and good in its own right. The music just didn't feel like older FF games. I can tell you why because Uematsu didn't compose FF11 and over!
@xKazolas A lot of Nobuo's final dungeon songs have been Marches. FF 5, 6, 7 come to mind for me. FF4 I guess it would've been the 2nd to last dungeon lol
seph will always command a cool factor for simple reasons such as his weapon of choice. no one can deny a great sword user even one as plain as cloud, and i bet that we compare most of final fantasy's villains against him for good reason.
BUT
Kefka was such a loveable, believeable, endearing, well-rounded asshole. He was the Joker of Final Fantasy. Sephiroth was just a bad ass, and a 2d one at that.
I just wanna say ths before a big flame war starts, Kefka was insane and a great villian but so was Sephiroth, Sephiroth just filled more of a "too cool for school" way of doing things while Kefka was insane with power. They're both great and while I prefer kefka, i can at least admit that they're both awesome villians
funny thing about kefka's tower...I noticed it kinda looks like a twisted version of the vector castle and the part where you see him finally looks like the esper gate.
@Zarathustra799 well...that does explain it..as for the remains of the esper gate that kefka can be seen on prior to the final battle..im sure kefka recyled the parts of the floating continent to form the tower.. thanks
I'm still waiting for someone to make an orchestrated version of this, I don't count the versions that make the song sound weak, it should just follow the same theme as the original, dramatic and powerful.
i love this song so much, its so climactic. the whole song sounds like it is marking that the end of days has finally arrived and this is literally where it will all end in an ultimate battle of good vs evil, yet the drums manage to pull it back just enough to really capture the suspense of this whole segment. i was literally shaking with anticipation the second time i took on this dungeon, not the first time though, because that was when i learned not to go there as soon as you get the airship.
@BlackWyvernFS Final Fantasy VII came out on the PlayStation (after N64) and Final Fantasy VI came wwwwwwwwaaaayyy before the PlayStation (You must of played the Anthology version FFVI came out on SNES) So there for, Sephiroth > Kefka, in every way shape and form would be the proper way to say it.
@TheGameAnyoneRPGer No, not by any means, tehy're on the same league, insane men who wanted to become gods (something in which Kefka succeeded, by the way) and annihilate every living thing, the fact Sephiroth makes you moist does not automatically make him superior.
@Joel354vanfanel I'm not moist, in fact, Sephiroth doesn't even league as much as Kefka does. In fact, Sephiroth isn't even superior, he's just a mama's boy who wants to kill everything for no damn reason.
@BH400q I love FFIV. I've played it on almost every platform it's been released on (in America) SNES, PS1, GBA, DS, and Wii's virtual console. All I can really say is that I enjoy FFIV better than FFVI, but I think FFVI is a work of art, and a classic that will never be lived down.
@RicoLen1 this talk is really making me weak in the heart because i beat both of them and miss these two games alot.FF IV and VI both had there good times.
i remember once i got setzer n the 2nd airship I would always save before hand, go to the tower n get the force shield (or was it the force armor) before continuing on :P
Nobuo was a genius at creating tension with his music. You just knew this was the final area because of how grand and epic and dark this theme was. If a villain is going to have a soundtrack, you can't go wrong with this at all.
Kefka needs to surpass Heath Ledger's Joker.... There is no clown that can beat this guy.... He became a GOD.... So he should be known as the God of all Clowns/Insanity
I think there should have been a random laughter coming in the background.... Showing a sign Kefka knows they have shown up and are putting everything at stake.... Why not have a remake.... or even a live version movie! Show Christopher Nolan there is someone darker than what Heath Ledger showed the world
Ha ha, damn that intro hits me every time, so frigging epic it is. Such a fitting piece of music for the final dungeon of the game. Lunar Subterrain and Giant of Babel from FF4 are also both extremely befitting, and in fact they're the only two that can top this magnificent piece of music.
I feel like I'm covertly infiltrating Kefka's tower and sneaking past difficult opponents when I listen to this.
(I ran away from half the battles while in the tower. :) It's too hard to fight every single monster since they are so uber tough and you are at such low level..)

I love the intro to this song, it's just pure win, but the momentum is just lost after the twenty-eight second mark... From that point on it's just another bland dungeon theme :(
I love both games

@Dantarn Sephy's not so tough. He lost to a crazy Amish guy, who kicked him in the nuts with a hammer.

@ThelronFjord But kefka can lose to a mime and a moogle, if we're saying "well he can die to this charector" both sides can't win

Now that's what I call an epic final dungeon music that fits the ambiance of a tower inhabited by a greedy and insane god.
