  • He wanted to do a musical version of 1984 by George Orwell, and ended up with the Diamond Dogs album that has many references to the book, and the 1980 Floor Show instead..

  • The tour was called the "1980 Floor Show", the tour took place in 1973.

  • This is definitely 1973 -- by 1980, Bowie was just closing out the Low-Heores-Lodger trilogy and was about to embark on Scary Monster (and Super Creeps).

  • as well as being an untalented hack, Lady Gaga is also 30 years too late,

  • definitely 1973

  • @deborahnash Yes, I was born to this song :-)

  • marica

  • Wow, his outfits were getting weirder and weirder at this point.

  • Please!!! How do you get this video. clive.winfield@ live.com

  • Bowie on harmonica?

  • I love his ears... Dunno why, but they are so sexy !

  • 1980? nope. quite sure it was 73

  • he is so freakin cute!

  • ma cosa succede a 4:43 a Mick Ronson??si rompe una corda??

  • Typical! I just sit down after breakfast on a sunday morning to wacth and listen a brilliant musical performance and Bowie is wearing the exact same clothes as me!

  • Best live shows!

  • DB is a genius, pure and simple.

  • @San5a Yes but the shows name was 1980 floor show

  • @Hog4n is this a TV show?

  • @San5a Yes, it was filmed at The Marquee Club in London for the NBC TV late night show The Midnight Special.

  • Gemma the only hand ABC would not allow was the obvious 'crotch' hand designed by Natasha Korniloff for the Oct.1973 ,Marquee Club extrvaganza.

    Email me lover...

    Dr. Jeff

  • Aynsley Dunbar on drums!!!!

  • This is so hilariously awesome. Mick Ronson! :P And I like the hands on Bowie's costume XD

  • Aynsley Dunbar!!!!

  • This was the first record I ever bought. I never did like Donny Osmond, David Cassidy or the Bay City Rollers!

  • GREAT !

  • Only in the 70's would someone be wearing what Bowie was wearing. LOL

  • hey, i'd wear it!

  • oh boy i wish this hands on his costume were mine^^

  • i loved his bass player 'burns

  • No sonny boy boy, this was taped for the American Musin program entitled The Midnight Special,October ,1973 for ABC television...Live at the famous club the Marquee Club..David had all the walls painted black for depth ,which failed.

  • What happens at 2'45 - the director plays very safe, and goes to shots of the musicians at the back..was the interplay between Bowie and Ronno getting potentially too steamy?

  • shame tho =]

  • i no would be quite funny too see whats actually happening :S

    luvsxxx

    ElectroRaveGirl

    p.s i luv his extra hands :D

  • ahahaha, tis a great top (y)

  • Jenna, Natasha Korniloff designed the 'spider-web' wrapping Dave is wearing in theis video...also the 1980 Flooe Show dancers wear the same in the beg. and in the track entitled 'Time',everyone's fave erotic/mayhem tune from A-Ladd-Insane album.

    Luv on ya!

    Toronto

  • Toronto, eh? How fucking great was Bowie's Stage show at the Gardens in 78? And then a few years later I believe I saw Roxy there on the Avalon tour ... which was also a life changing event ... and way better than Roxy's Massey Hall gig the year before.

  • Yummy! I'd love to tie him up in that outfit and have my way with him! It would be quit fun stripping it off!! XD ***drool***

  • Only an artist... Maybe one day you will see the difference.

  • major nelso0n jeannie iff and only if go

  • Does Anyone have the unsensored video??? hee, hee.

  • love that oufit with the hands over bowie's "breasts" haha. it's ingenious.

  • What's the reason David didn't want the Spiders band for his musicians during his trip to America for the Diamond Dogs show? In this video they looked like they were having fun. Extraorinary!

  • So this how an overdriven les paul is supposed to sound like! I love 70's rock.

  • No Jenna its at 2:45 when Bowie does the 'go down on Ronson', and it was way SLICED OUT for televised viewing that October/73.

David was to never play with Mick again, or, ever return to England with the Diamond Dogs Show, until he went bankrupt, and went back to 'black n white ' basics, with the most awesome show he ever did...SSTATION TO STATION.If you missed it, R.I.P.

  • I saw the Station to Station Show in Evansville In. The stage was all black and the lights WERE all white, It was a great show!

  • gobsmacked your ass...that was a Marquis Club audience...probably all special invites,we thought when we saw this live on the the Midnight Special ,back in 1973,when I was babysittin my littler bros...fuck, like yesterday....then I wenmt to Diamond Dogs and my life changed forever....for ther better of course, cept for talikin to you losers....be well morons!JJ

  • Beautiful! Classic Ziggy-era Bowie.

  • What a static audience , probably they were all gobsmacked .

  • The classic 'Bowie / Ronson ' duets! The very first duets!!!!

  • David and Ronno rocks!

  • Live on the Midnight Special, little before your time Jenna...

  • Initially, David had a dummy hand over his crotch area, but ABC would not allow such a thing in 1973, so they had to remove that hand for the broadcast.Jeff

  • Of course they had to go and film the drummer while Zig and Ronno were having hot, kinky guitar-sex. Damn censors.

  • it's october 1973

  • 1980? I don't think so

  • My guess is 1973 the latest.

  • brodell meant this as a reaction to the poster of this clip, who claimed this to be 1980 for chrissakes, obviously this is '74,never mind.

  • Actually this was 18 to 20 Oct. 1973.

  • i love the outfit...

  • MICK RONSON rest in peace sir ,your music and your spirit lives on...

  • nice, he should have kept the spiders from mars
