as someone who is majoring in biochem, biotech progress isn't what's going on. plants are being genetically engineered then patented, third world farmers are going bankrupt buying them, and the only result is a decreased variety of food. biotech has potential, but it's being abused.

a laissez faire attitude shouldn't only be applied to economics, it should be applied to nature. nature works best without our interference, lets try and minimize it instead of playing god.

I fail to see how genetically engineering plants reduces the variety of said plants any more than the artificial selection process that humans have used for thousands of years. I don't see a problem with patenting your creations either, patenting naturally occurring genes is a bit too far, but then the patent system is run by the government, so direct your complaints there.

The second angle of the melee is from the camera that was grabbed and tossed to the ground by a cop. I was not using it at the time; but it was my 1st camera and had given many years service to the cause of the people.
