  • This is beautiful, melodious music. "Sing unto the Lord...." God has anointed each individuals with joyous gifts. Look at His wondrous works. soloist - voice, pianist, drummer, choir, director, organist, stringed instruments, hand clapping, feet tapping, but most of all balance with the presence of the Holy Spirit to Start and Finanlize. HALLELUJAH!! Thanks for posting. God Bless Everyone.

  • How can you go wrong with Judith and Derrick... Great minds

  • The great Derek on them keys!

  • @SingingLover17, the sopranos are saying "for all of your goodness." My name is Reggie Royal and I wrote this song for West A many years ago. It was inspired by classical and Smallwood-like elements. Judy added the 'Hallelujah' to the vamp. The original was sung by Judy McAllister and was only the 'Thank You' section. The inspiration was actually not a hymn, the song is called the Anthem of Thanks.

  • Reggie, I love this song. You need to get a Choir record this on a Cd. Keep up the good work.

  • Hey Bro Reggie, I agree with kmilton. Please have someone record this! Because someone taught this where I am, and listening to it I see that it was not only played wrong, BUT the parts were SO OFF! Its a beautiful song, and I am so sad that it was ripped apart the way it was...

  • @Artz4life Is there any way that we can purchase / get copies of the recording? I Love this song!

  • What are the sopranos saying after the choir sings "thank you"?

  • I love this. I have repeated this vid at least 10x. So beautiful.

  • WHAT IS THE NAME OF THIS SONG?

  • awesome song! i'm trying to hear the lyrics in the second verse. what are they saying here: "Lord I give You praise for ___ Thou who ruleth over all" at 1:17

  • 'Praise for being God who rulest over all'

I like this rendition better than the original.

  • What's the original song named? Is it a hymn?

  • One of the older posts said it was an original written by a West Angeles member. There was a version available to download before the call meeting on the national music site for folks to learn the song. It was sung by an ensemble, rather than a full choir, it sounded like. There is more hollering from the lead @ the "hallelujah" part which is awful, she just was not as melodic as sister in this video.

  • Direct well Dr. McAllister!

  • what is the title of this song it's absoluetly beautiful!

  • I was there for this service---there was defintley some mixed emotions about the type of music---as COGIC is more a foot patting up down up down type worship style--the music sung was totally different than that---but I must say the whole service different tone---it was good

  • the arrangement sounds like a Richard Smallwood arrangement. In many ways, we as Pentecostals do not have an appreciation for sacred music. Don't get me wrong, hand clapping, foot stomping music has its place. But many times that stuff does not have sound theology like the hymns and anthems of the church.

  • so true!

  • I totally agree with you Apostle JD2, coming from a traditional church, to cogic and attending a pentecostal contemporary university i can appreciate the hand clapping foot stopping, the hymns and the christian rock like sing of your love, i love worship!!!

  • Can I ask what university are you referring to???

  • @henryhar Really, so people didnt enjoy the music ? i like it, but it is very different for us. As long as God is in it, I am good. But, I do like to get tore up ? guess I am too COGIC. lol

  • my uncles up there in the choir

  • AWESOME!

  • Wow! Oh my God! Judy is something else. Great song. Great arrangement. I like, I like. I didn't know that Judy was COGIC though. See with me because I'm Jamaican. I know these people via the media here... and the internet.

  • It's good to see Rev. Dr. Richard Smallwood's influence on Black Gospel, even after his retirement. That's how you know you are a trailblazer and leave a legacy.

  • He retired? I didn't know that!

  • no...that's not true

  • when?

  • me either.

  • he retired are you serious when?

  • im sry i love COGIC.. but i guess Judith said if they wanna sleep at the beginning of the song i'll wak them up around 2:36.. ono doubt the choir was bomb though.. To God Be the Glory

  • I loved it when we tried to rehearsed it at GCT(for the folks outside of memphis thatz Greater Community Temple COGIC). I was horse after that night but i had fun though

  • Man Markita Killed and Dr.Judy beasted directing the choir along with Derrick Jackson on the piano! COGIC is going Higher to the next Dimension...EMBRACE the change! God is doing a NEW THING!!

  • The choir sounds good! What's with the folders? Not the COGIC way... We learn the music!! Not a difficult song.. In this "season of change" in the church, let's not forget the teachings and legacy of Dr. Clark. I feel like we are going towards slowly letting our traditional sound go.. I love Dr. J, but we needed a better transition. Only my opinion

  • u entitled 2 your opinion man...but be flexible and ready, because times change, what do u mean the COGIC Way...behold I will do a new thing bro.... much love

  • I totally agree with you. those folders reeeeally threw me off

  • Well not really a Mattie Moss Clark moment because Dr. Clark would have probably laid that sister at 1:56 jammin in the choir stands. LOL but Dr. McAllister did good.

  • Direct Judy

  • i love this song that gurl at 1:56 was feelin it and that lady SUNG DOWN

  • The lord brought that lady at 2:50 a longggg way.. AFRO AND ALL!!!!

  • Wow! That thing is huge! lol

  • Oh Motha Knight!!! Sang it

  • We sound AWSOME!!!

  • Judith is looking like Mattie Moss Clark with that bun in her hair. She also is giving God some praise. Wow, the choir can still sing and also praise Him while singing.

  • That girl at 1:55 KNOW SHE AIN"T supposed to be moving around like that...LOL...thats why she started laughing!!! LOL

  • LOL!! Even the guy in the blazer was lookin' at her like "what are you doin'?" LOL

  • YEP!!! He kept looking at her!!!! LOL!! like " HUH?" LOL

  • Shewas feeling the song I guess. lol too funny!

  • @Reshard18 >>>>I GUESS WHEN YOUR THAT CUTE YOU CAN DO THAT

  • Kudos to Judy, the choir, and Markita as well as the musicians. You really captured the heart of the song. It's always nice to hear someone do your music. Blessings!

  • I Heard West Angeles Sing this about 5 years ago....I see Judy is still keeping it alive!!!..Sing Choir!

  • Is this written by Judy? This song needs to be recorded.

  • No, actually it was written by one of the Choir Members at West Angeles.....West A is rediculously blessed with talent in the area of music!

  • This was back when Judy was still their Minister of Music

  • I am sure, now the world will see what talent comes from West A. Bishop is taking the COGIC family higher.

  • I loved when we first learned this song at rehearsal and I had fun singing it that night too. I'd never been so excited about learning a song in my life.

  • praise God Wonderful this is what Gospel Needs Today !!!!!

  • Derrick Jackson is playing man!!!

  • Nice!!!

  • This is one of my new favorite songs....awesome transitions in tempo.....
