  • Well said - you've helped me understand Adler's inferiority theory better and I now believe the theory has more merit than I originally thought - my mind just flashed to the recent attention to bullying which speaks to inferiority/superiority - the bully makes his victim feel inferior in order to make himself feel superior.

  • What I am saying is someone with an inferiority complex needs to feel superior in some way to compensate E.G. "control freak" type people like managers and bosses that order staff around. Someone with a "superiority complex", sheesh, show me one :p

  • It could be argued that god in the first testament had an inferiority complex which made him tell people not to worship other idols. Its swings and roundabouts if you ask me!

  • @eXPerienceyeah You can stop with this Jesus bullcrap now.

  • From 2:40 to 3:20 - generally speaking, someone that fails will have an inferiority complex and someone that succeeds will have a superiority complex, but being actually inferior or superior in the real world is usually a result of the person already feeling inferior or superior to begin with. Failure doesn't cause inferior feelings, the feelings of inferiority caused the failure. Success doesn't cause superior feelings, the feelings of superiority made the person more successful all along.

  • @eXPerienceyeah Not really buddy.

  • Very nice explanation of Adler's concepts. Your point to "Mr. Speaker" made me think of a video I just saw last night. Interestingly, archaeologists have found that in times which the old testament was written, "God" was actually several gods, including Baal, Yahweh and Elohim. The jealous, wrathful god was Yahweh, an evolution of Ares in greek myth.

  • Uh uh umm ohhh ehh uhhh umm YOU SUCK

  • Absolutely excellent... I learned a lot.

  • outstanding....i like very much how beautifuly you elaborate "inferiority complex theory"

whereas the biblical comment in regards you are totaly off...but overall you are to admire

  • You couldn't have nailed it any better. Highly concise, extremely to the crux of "the word's" problem. Splendid repartee.

Talking of inferiority/superiority complex, I aspire to hold such witticism and fluency constructing such quick logical arguments; hence the application to Harvard next year lol

  • i tried to post a similar comment at his website Dr. Bob) but he wouldn't approve it.

Born again Christians like him, or whatever he is, will not under any circumstances agree with anything except what the Bible says and any thing else is the work of the devil.

I think you may have missed what Adler was describing, which was a THERAPY technique in order to get at what the person was trying to block which was how his parents made him feel about himself hidden in his goals and ideas.
