  • thank you! my hat looks way better with the ear flaps on it :). couldn't have done it with out ya!!

  • Thank you for your great videos!

Question...can this be done in hdc?

  • @girlyhammer you can work it in half double crochet instead

  • I liked it. Thank you you are super

  • For everyone asking how to do the braids or tassels. Here is how I did braids. I cut out 6 strings double the length that I wanted (but 3 work too, it just depends on how thick you want them). Pull the strings through the hole at the top of the ear flap, make sure they are even, braid, and tie off! Easy :)

  • @sherpatel910 Thank you!

  • i've looked everywhere and finaly found what i was looking for. thank you.

  • you are such a good crocheter u are so blessed with talent!

  • Oblong! I have been unsatisfied with my triangle ear flaps :) Always a pleasure learning from your vids!

  • @dyscea Thank you!

  • Thank you SO much for this well explained and clearly videoed tutorial on making an attractive ear flap. I've viewed and tried numerous videos and instructions and they are so complicated and unclear. I'm new to crochet, but determined. This video and explanation has encouraged me that crochet instructions can be logical if presented and taught in the right way!

  • @Mooshie2 I appreciate the comment, thank you!

  • now how do you do the tassels hanging down from the ear flaps?

  • Hi Teresa! I love your videos! I have learned so much from you...thank you!

Quick question though...if I wanted to make the flaps longer, you said to just add a longer chain in the very beginning. Now after that first step, are the instructions the same as yours (with the 5 chains)? Or do the increases change since it's longer? Thanks!

  • I was making a hat with ear flaps and they just didn't come out looking right on the edges. Then I found this video and I am going to take out the flaps I made and make these!! They look SO much better! Thank you!

  • @sbrisby25 You are welcome! I appreciate the comment.

  • is this possible in double crochet? thx for the vid :)

  • @agentkitty009 You can work the ear flaps in double crochet.

  • How do you measure where to start the ear flap on both sides and how far to go?

  • @ddiamondk I just eyeball where the ear flaps go

  • I made these, but when I was finished with them they we kind of cupped. How do I make them flatter?

  • @kwizsica Work more stitches in one of the rows.

  • Quick question...if I want to add ear flaps to a beanie that I'm making, should I had few rows (so the beanie is shorter), or just make the beanie the same length as my other, then add flaps? Thanks!

  • @kwizsica If you are making it for yourself, try the cap on to see if you need extra rounds. Working additional rounds is going to be what you prefer for length.

  • Hi! What age of child would size ear flap be for approx? Thanks so much! I love your tutorials! :-) x

  • @Rubeslovesdavid These ear flaps can fit a variety of size heads. These were made for adult size. Use a smaller crochet hook to make the flap smaller.

  • I am going to try this out! Thanks for an easy to follow instructions :D Hope mine turns out as great as urs!

  • @moonchildja I bet you will do well!

  • this is just what i need =]

  • IFONLY MCGIVER COULD CROCHET LOL

  • @bojangles465 You didn't know? I am MacGyver! ;-)

  • can you make a thong?

  • @SmartJew81 Yes you can make a thong. I have a tutorial for a crochet bikini top. There is a lot you can make with crochet.

  • lol... a thong?! haha

  • OMG I finally get it! Normally I make my ears seperate then stitch them on but this looks so much better and because I never follow a pattern I now have a better way to make my own little critters!!! Thank you so much!

  • Comment removed

  • i have learn alot with you i will like to know if you have any pattern of a dog sweater i will like to crochet one for my dog thank you ivette

  • I do not have any dog sweater pattern right now.

  • I've been looking for this too! I just crocheted my baby a beanie a couple days ago and wished it had ear flaps! Now I can add them, How would make you attach a tie down for under the chin?

  • You can attach the tie to the earflaps using a thick braid or a crochet chain. I would recommend 2 or 3 strands or yarn.

  • Great! Thank you so much! I'm going to be writing about your videos in my blog soon! I'll let you know when I'm done. I might get it done today!

  • I appreciate that. Thank you.

  • ahh, im having difficulty doing the first thing. putting the ear flap on the hat. how would you attach it..?

  • So would you put those earflaps on a beanie cap?

  • Yes. You could put them on a beanie or hunting cap...anything it would ook good on.

  • Update: I watched the videos a couple more times and finally got it! I put the earflaps on a headband! Thanks so much Teresa! If I could make 50 fresh cookies and give them to you I would. : ]

  • You can put them on any cap that you think they would look good on.

  • where do you get the thinhs on your hook?

  • those are pencil grips on her hook. You should be able to find them at any store in the school supplies department. dollar store, walmart, target, walgreens. Many places. They making holding he hook more comfortable.

  • great thank's : )

  • ahh! much needed earflap hat pattern!! thank you :)

  • I have had so much fun crocheting since I subscribed to you videos. Thanks so much.

  • How did you know I was looking for this pattern? Thanks, tjw.

  • This has been a frequently requested pattern. I did two half circles a year ago, thinking they would work for ear flaps, not realizing that everyone was looking for oblong. I have done a lot more research on the style and hope this pattern works better. I have had people tell me they used a triangle pattern I have posted for ear flaps too.
