this relationship between G and the Duke just helps to prove that the opposite of love is indiffrence and not hate, cause even the people you hate in most cases hate you just as much in return and at least they acknowledge eachothers existance! id rather marry someone i hated than someone who could so easily forget me while living in the same house.

I hope you're kidding. Bess was a wicked, tricky viper. She stabbed G in the back when she seduced her husband. And it was her who stood by and enjoyed watching Eliza being taken away from G. After that, she enslaved G and stole the rest of her life. Bess was a horrible excuse for a human!

I respect your opinion, which you've given relentlessly for almost every Bess comment I have left, but I still stand by that she was a better person than you give credit. Besides, did you personally know Bess? No. There are two sides to every story. So stop being so damn judgmental and accept that some think that she too was an empowering person of her time. I respect your opinion, but still, you can't deny that Bess was a rotten snake. G's children hated her guts in reality and after Georgiana died, even the Duke didn't seek comfort from her. Bess was nothing more than a w**** who showed G how cruel the world is. And she didn't have the love and impact G had on the people. She's the equivalent to Camilla Parker Bowles. I didn't know her, but I know she wasn't a great woman you say she is. Even the Duke was better than her.
