  • makes video trying to promote Linux, doesn't actually make any points why its better than Windows or Mac...

  • Why are people so obsessed with whats the 'best' operating system. Just use whatever the fuck you want. Its all much of a muchness these days anyway.

  • Apple OS X Lion = $36. Apple hardware to put it on ~ Your left nut

  • Are Linux girls open source as well ?

  • Linuxwhat? Shouldnt it be Mac, and two PCs?

  • Mac: "I couldn't help myself." Of course he couldn't help himself, Apple based their OS on UNIX... its just that Linux did it better.

  • Windows the best,Good things do not come free,

  • @IulianRo1 Windows as best at polishing ass. Good things are FREE.

  • @IulianRo1 What browser do you use?

  • @scorici internet explorer 9

  • I gotta say that I love the people who say how much Linux sucks , but yet over 85% of online forums , websites , servers , hulu , netflix , PSN , SOE , etc etc run...Linux go figure right. But then again I guess that's how you tell the difference between users , loud mouths and real IT guru's

  • il stop watching theese videos now... first it was win vs mac, now your ruining it with putting in linux.... LINUX SUX MORE THEN MAC... imo

  • these ad have failed. They portray linux as a egomaniac who thinks having 30 million users is a lot despite the fact that pc and mac users dominate by a long shot. Also they have ruined the illusion that the people are the computers, not people using computers.

  • Lol. Just use TRON. (any Japan fanatics will get that one)

  • Novell gay ipx protocol

  • I LOVE YOU LINUX!!!!

Now I just wish more commercial games would be compatible with Linux... Even IF you had to run them on wine! Then I wouldn't have to dual boot with crappy overpriced Windows 7...

  • Linux gave me eye strain... no joke. well, Ubuntu gave me eye strain... that was last year. This year it won't duel boot with win7 and I'm not going to leave win7 to attempt to try linux again.

  • I can understand why people like Linux, but honestly I can't stand it. There isn't enough software, there are about a million different versions, and it doesn't look as good as Windows or Mac.

  • She creeps me out for some reason.... BTW, I'm running Linux.

  • I was dual booting PC and Linux. My PC crashed, and when I tried to reinstall windows, It deleted Linux. I HATE YOU WINDOWS CRASHES!

  • @MrBearRoars It didnt delete linux, it most likely just took over grub as the bootloader. Unless, of course, you installed it on the whole hdd rather then just the partition. you could try EasyBCD

  • Mac- I am expensive

PC- I've had plastic surgery (transition to windows 7)

Linux- I'm free and open source, meaning you can suit me to your needs, oh and i will only change my apperance at your command

    LINUX RULES

  • Mac osx and Linux are form the same family UNIX

  • @awdean1 linux is from GNU. there is a diffrent

  • @doemaeries Linux isn't from GNU... GNU's kernel, Hurd, has never shared a codebase. That said Linux is only only Unix-like whereas Mac OS X has been UNIX-certified since Leopard.

  • @LordDestros Plenty of Linux distros would pass the Open Group's UNIX certification, but their makers don't pursue it for several reasons. Part of being certified as UNIX means providing a certain level of support, plus the monetary cost of the actual process, which doesn't make sense when your upgrade cycle is six-months long and a bulk of your users are getting the product for little to no cost. Not to mention there are Linux compatibility targets which are, frankly, much more modern goals.

  • @panton41 "Plenty of Linux distros would pass the Open Group's UNIX certification, but their makers don't pursue it for several reasons."

Potentially true but I don't believe it's ever been done (e.g. by Red Hat, Novell, IBM, etc.) and not all distributions are necessarily fully POSIX-compliant out of the box. As far as I'm concerned though, UNIX certification is irrelevant; I didn't intend to make being "Unix-like" sound as if it were somehow worse.

  • @LordDestros

problem with that is mac os x init process is apple's,not bsd.

that should not make it unix certified

  • @LordDestros who told you that Gnu hurd is under GPL sure they shared the code-base

  • Are you running Linux?

    Bill: Maybe.

  • Who is the girl here? somebody help me please!

  • Here Linux seems like it's the ruler of the world and Macs & PCs are just garbage. And it's as evil as you can see.

  • OS X = Unix = Linux

  • I used Ubuntu for a day, gave up and went back to Windows XP.

    Try me, gentlemen.

  • @PanimatePlox When was the last time you tried it?

  • @unrealjeff I'd like to say about 9 months ago.

  • @PanimatePlox That was before even the release of 10.04, why didn't you like it?

  • @unrealjeff It didn't do anything O.O. Largely incompatible with my computer. Wasn't friendly with my VGA card (which is nothing to write home about but I spent good money on it)

  • DON'T FUCK WITH LINUX!

  • Ubuntu is free, my 8yo cousin figured out how to use it, and it is faster than both Mac and Windows, Also I can make it look like both, and it can do anything Mac or Windows can do, (i don't). (they got me at free.)

  • mac is the best the the price is worth it... i used windows linux and mac and i have to say mac is the best no matter how much it costs...

  • @XcomputernerdX totally agree

  • linux is a bitch xD

  • for all woundering windows 7 kicks snow pussys ass

  • @megamanxdeath windows 7 sucks compared to mac os x... mac is the best

  • @XcomputernerdX no way :D

  • @megamanxdeath LOL... I like linux and windows 7 is okay.. but everyone has their own opinion :D

  • Well mac = linux but with softwar ethat you paid for.

And Windows copied both operating system.

I still like windows though, a good stable os, that is top 1 in the market.

  • solaris fuck yea.

  • Does no-one care that Linux is not just free as in beer but free as in freedom?

and the same can be said with most software that runs on it.

  • Good things about linux: Its free

Good things about mac and pc: everything

  • here's the price range:

    Linux - FREE

    Windows - Expensive

    Mac - OVERFUCKINGPRICED

  • @TutorialKidOfDOOM actually mac is no overpriced a copy of osx is 30 bucks, and if you dont wanna pay like 1000 dollars you can just make a hackintosh...

  • @TutorialKidOfDOOM your comparison isn't right, because if you say free for Linux, then you'Re just talking about the OS. and in this case it's windows the most expensive.

  • @TutorialKidOfDOOM Apple OS X Lion its cheap 30$, Windows 7 its 200-250 EURO , Windows it`s the most expensive OS

  • @IulianRo1 But you will pay twice as much for the hardware that you cant really upgrade.

  • Dude! Why would Mac want Linux? OS X is way more stable!

  • @Rubiksguy97 Actually, no, no it is not. OS X is nowhere near where linux is right now in terms of stability, linux is defiantly way higher than OS X and windows.

  • @NovaN0va That's because Linux has little or no programs that come with it. Meanwhile, OS X comes with a whole bunch of programs.

  • @Rubiksguy97 Actually, your wrong once again, Linux comes with LOTS of programs for daily computing, as well as an easy way for a user to download an additional program if they see that they need to. You are losing this argument.

  • @Rubiksguy97 i agree dude

  • Running Linux on a Macbook pro ? Now that is stupid. Replacing a UNIX type system with a uniform easy to use interface with one with a fragmented community of semi usable interfaces.

  • Nixie is cool, I use Ultimate Edition for it's out of the box applications; burning DVDs and THOGGEN rocks :)

  • I bet she has penguin pet named TUX

  • alguien me puede traducir todo esto en español???? jejeje

  • This woman is NOT representative of Linux users lol

  • i love linux

  • Umm. Your on a computer right now...

  • Computers will be the end of us, just you wait. It won't be like Terminator, it will become the new religion. People will fight, bomb and kill other over allegiance to an OS. I already see WAY too much hate in the comments belong. "they are the worst peace of shit out there" Does it really require you to swear and freak out? Calm down...

  • Novell is even worse than mac. And Linux is a fucking piece of shit.

  • @nakedvolleyball And, we won't mention PCs because everyone knows that they are the worst peace of shit out there

  • linux is a science- like this ads

  • the future is open

  • Linux Mint is the only Linux I would recommend to family and friends, it's a great experience.

  • I use Ultimate Edition because almost everything I would ever need is right out of the box ready to go.

I know one thing FORCE QUIT does not MESS AROUND in LINUX unlike Apple where it lags and takes it's sweet ass time

  • macs are already running unix. i prefer ubuntu to suse, but still...

    LiNuX rOcKs

  • They don't run unix. unix is just ridiculously unstable. Mac OS is BASED on Unix.

  • @capitalsown well then they are running unix if its based on it (possibly modified a bit).

  • /facepalm you sir fail, your comment is invalid for bing a dumbass.

  • Lolwut? "bing a dumbass"? What does that mean? Fine, I'll humor you. I'll pretend like it says "being". Lolwut? My comment's a dumbass? Also you are missing a few commas.

  • Linux RoCks!!!

  • me to

  • Do people actually use linux I tried using it few years ago did't really see why should i see extra trouble.

  • Because you can't get used to it.

I'm running Linux for almost 2 years, and I'm still glad with it.

More as I was with Windoze.

Switching to another OS just takes time.

You can't think it can take just one minute.

Same goes like from XP to W7, from OS X Tiger to Snow Leopard, and so from Windoze or OS X to Linux, and vice versa.

  • I moved pretty comftably form xp to vista and from vista to w7.

  • Could mean that you're more flexible than the most switchers to any OS.

I am too, but the most people aren't.

  • ace142, what you probably missed (and that's really easy to do, when you're used to commercial OS's) is that many Linux Distros have a 6 month release cycle. The experience you had a few years ago has probably NOTHING to do with how Linux behaves today (on the surface). Grab the latest Mint Linux ISO, burn it and boot from the CD. It will give you a glimpse at today's Linux. (rated up cause it's a somehow a valid argument)

  • Anyone who would like to try a Linux can download 'Live' CD. Then run the OS from the disk like you could do with Macs. I have to say new Ubuntu's are fucking slick!

  • I couldn't help myself either.

Although I'm in Windows right now I've been spending like half my time in Linux, I would spend mor,e but i cant get this "How To Gurus, HTML" DVD to work there. haha

I really like the Emerald title bar customization, the effects, thre free software, and the multiple desktops in Ubuntu. But I've also heard of Mint and openSUSE, is there a difference between those Linux OSs?

  • Mint has flash and such to begin with, but bases on Ubuntu and so is fairly similar. Dunno about openSUSE.

GNU/Linux (what you called Linux) is however strikingly different from the core up. There are so-called 'desktop environments', which people can use which are like Windows' interface, but these are inter-changeable. Ubuntu uses one of the big ones called 'GNOME', but there are several others to choose from. And this is only one thing, there are a lot of other choices in general too.

  • To everyone who is trying to debate about computers: It's not worth it, get a life. All the people watching this are Linux fanboys, and we all know what happens when you get a fanboy in with the logical thinkers.

    It's not worth debating here.

  • lol...everyone?, well obviously you're not.

agreed: it isn't worth it so what the hell are we doing here ?

all the people watching this are linux fanboys (ME) AND gamer arseholes who don't know what the fuck to do with a computer after they press the on button apart from cranking up their latest shoot 'em up shit or racing their moronic virtual cars around non-existent racetracks or amassing their armies...........etc.etc.

  • XD

Don't forget retards who don't know what the hell they're talking about. There are some of those guys here, too.

I'm one of the privileged few who has had the chance to meet one face-to-face. Well, user-to-user, or whatever.

  • if there are any people here who wanna try Linux or haven't used it and are just spamming old myths here are the facts

    1) Mac and Windows both have trojans and worms, linux gets one every couple of months or years and every single linux thread is notified where the viruses are as soon as they're found.

    2) There is a free alternative to virtually every single program you use. (even 500 dollar software)

3)If we don't have it, VMware.

  • FUCKING LOL

  • I know a woman that uses Linux... Have you ever heard of Nixie Pixel ... She knows more about Linux than most men.

  • @maw88ify

    not more than me ;)

  • Comment removed

  • @maw88ify yeah, she's great!! XD

  • I am of the XX Tribe, and wish to deliver this message on my tribe's behalf: Go RM -RF yourself! So there :)

  • there is an even better and more dramatic way to do just that with the pc, it involves my penis and large amounts of piss.

  • yes, my wife

  • ...Is it just me, or are these commercials even worse than Apple's new Windows 7 vs. Snow Leopard commercials?

  • I think it's just you Pokemon Einstein!

  • Nope. It's definitely not just me.

  • @pokemoneinstein

    Oh yes it is!

    :)

  • @pokemoneinstein Back when this Linux ad was made, the top of the line PC/Mac OSes were only Vista and 10.4 respectively

    .

I guess it's time for Novell to update.

    .

  • PEBCAK. Nuff said.

  • You can't say you hate linux just because you've choosen particular distros of it you don't like (there are over 300 to choose from after all).

  • wtf im not spam biatch

  • why would a mac want to use linux?

  • Yea OS X have more ports from linux then Windows ;]

  • running Linux. Photo library cause your to Retarded to put Pictures in designated Folders.

  • Damn straight. I never understood this quick search BS. If you just organized your shit in the first place you wouldn't need that stupid indexing service that chews up resources and takes forever to index in the first place.

I always disable indexing on any system I use that has it on by default.

  • Congratulations. YOUR NOT RETARDED! lol.

  • I would consider trying linux if it could actually RUN anything...

  • Linux runs pretty much anything you need. WINE has support for many, many Windows applications. Things WINE doesn't run are either in the works for support, or there is a free and OSS package to do the same thing.

    What's stopping you now?

  • WINE Sucks. Almost as bad as Macs Virtual Windows crap.

It simply doesn't have the Library support that the actual OS has. You just can't run advanced programs that utilize it's driver functionality.

  • I'm going to go ahead and call you out on your obvious lack of experience.

I haven't had any issues running anything worth running under WINE.

  • Wine is kick ass, but he's right that it doesn't support windows drivers. And why should it? If you want an unstable operating system complete with unstable drivers, root kits, viruses, spyware, crappy caching, arbitrary memory limitations, etc. go install windows.

  • i could only get counter-strike to work with a million drivers on wine

  • I could with wine.

  • except linux and its software is completely free, Apple is seriously overpriced

  • definitely true.

  • So what if they are both unix based, mac is clearly a more advanced, and as a fact more competetive than linux

  • I love the other spoof where Linux is this random Geek and Mac n' PC hate him lol

  • who said mac isnt a PC? u dumb ass pc stands for personal computer, and mac is even more of a personal than windows. the only reason they dont call it that is for names sake

  • i absolutely hate PC and think it sucks balls, and im in love with macs. but even i can admit that PC is better than linux, despite my hateful dread for PC. MAc obviously is better. hahha who is trying to say linux is even in the competition, go back to kiddy pool linux! u suck!

  • @sweendog1994

What is at the core of a Mac? A UNIX based Kernel... so why the hatred for Linux, Mac and Linux are practically brothers.

  • No. Macs use Intel Core Duos.

  • actually macs use UNIX

  • stfu dude keep ur dumb opinions for you

  • and why linux suck's?its support the games y play...also support the programs y use...see?for me linux is perfect, now repeat again what you said.

  • In that case why not voice your opinion by boycotting all services with relation to Linux.

  • @LordDestros Made me giggle. You sir have made my day.

  • Isn't Linux a PC too?

  • Yup.

  • So if a Mac isn't a PC (read: personal computer), then what, exactly, is it?

  • PC is (was) IBM PC ;]

  • But the fact remains that PC is short for "Personal Computer." ;)

  • So call Mac as Mac PC if you want ;]

  • No, thanks. I will call it what it is; A PC.

You can brand it whatever you like (not you specifically) but you cannot change what it is at its most basic. That is... a Personal Computer.

Call it Mac. Give it hype. Color it pink, red and yellow. It's still a Personal Computer.

  • But we talking here about PC as platform made by IBM, not type of device, duh it a personal computer, but this is not a point.. Anyone can make other platform, but calling it PC would made costumers think in wrong way. You can't run OS X on PC without modifications and Windnows on Mac (even if Microsoft doing it instead you). Linux as kernel is ready to run on both in it's one modular source code.

  • The platform doesn't matter. Both non-Apple computers and Apple Computers run intel chipsets and processor. Platform means nothing, so your argument is moot.

No matter what you want to label it as, it's still a Personal Computer. Calling it anything else is just absurd and shows a complete and total lack of understanding what the machine is at its core... which would be a Personal Computing Device or a Personal Computer.

  • wrong! Many Macs now use Intel chips, but there are many that also run on PPC.

  • Wrong? I acknowledged that they mostly use Intel now (newer ones). I know and understand some of them use another platform. However, it DOES NOT change the FACT that they are still Personal Computers.

  • They ain't funny. At least Mac vs PC make you laugh.

  • didn't understand why mac is crying !

    i like mac then linux

    windows i play solitaire with

    why does i lie

i like windows for gaming prupose

  • linux blows osx

  • the people who are in the communist side is Microsoft they want to suck people money on an OS that has source code so old as a floppy disk so hail to the penguin because it gonna be king in a few years by now

  • Eh, I love LInux but you have no idea what communism is, and yes, Linux fits the profile.

  • Has anyone seen windows 7 recently? Gag me with a glass encrusted spoon! I mean whats with the overly huge SUPER bar? It looks like a kids OS??? IDK it does not look sleek in the least. I would rather mess with Vista. Windows seven is the Khloe Kardashian of Windows OS's

  • (ran out of room) but Most Linux distro's are more stable and more effecient than windows.

But like i said.. i'm a linux fan.. Windows does have it's upsides too.. #1 Support.. there are people who support windows EVERYWHERE, whereas with Linux.. well I hope you don't mind a bit of reading.. (again.. Mfg's not doing the work so we have to) #2 commercial software.. Windows has been the standard for how long? guess what? tha'ts why..

If it runs yer computer and you like it. great if not oh well

  • Alright.. I'm gonna put an end to this debate right now.. being a linux fan.. yes you may say that I am biased... however.. i do support Windows on a day to day basis.. Yes Linux has some issues, mainly lack of driver support and commercial software.. however that's not because of the people who program for linux. It has to do with m$'s contracts and the hardware and software Mfg's, they don't write the stuff for linux becuase it has a rather small market share right now..

  • Actually I used Windows for a very long time and I have found that linux for the most part has MUCH better driver support than windows.. most things work out of the box... whereas with windows I was always downloading drivers etc.. Not to mention I had to re-install Vista just recently on my aunts Dell and had to manually download every driver for WiFi etc.. set it up for a dual boot with Kubuntu 9.04 and everything "just worked" after the install.. no hunting for drivers everywhere.

  • Lets remember that Linux is free and people spend their time to come out with great software to help and improve our computing needs. Lets embrace Free software and Distros and look forward to a time where we can all share and create media, art, ext.

  • Looks like you got al your infos on Linux from Windows-ads

  • Nah I used ubuntu 8.10 for 2 weeks straight and nothing else. It is pretty fucking pitiful. Unlike you I know what I'm talking about. I doubt you have ever used done gaming on a PC in your life, I also bet you have never used OS X.

  • meh, you don't know 5h17.

  • Or you could just go with Windows and pay for an easy to use installer that gives you some tid-bits of extras that you don't want or know about! You can spend your time running countless Antivi and malware software (that in installing it causes more viruses) and having windows only semi customizable. O and lets not forget the money you will spend on the $100+ OS and $******** you will spend on software. Apple is reliable and sufficient but lets not take out a loan to buy a MAC!

  • I put it in dumb dumb terms for you.

    Windows has more software.

    It has a better OS.

My $2000 PC I bought 2 years ago still running well and more powerful than the top of the range iMac that costs $3699 today.

    OWNED!!!!
