Many, many passages allude to the FACT that ALL will eventually KNOW God and accept Christ.
Although NO ONE can come to the Father lest he draws (Drags) them means that everyone has to go through Christ, it does NOT negate the FACT that ALL will come to him, Through Christ.

Jhn. 3:17 is one of my top 10 verses! like you I am amazed by the number of people that can quote 3:16 and dont have a clue what 3:17 says and are shocked when you tell them....

To pray is an EXERCISE for humans to do, so that they build up their spiritual muscles (sort of speak).
God already knows EVERYTHING, so praying is NOT for his benefit, but for OURS!
ALL humans will eventually be much happier when they live with God at the end of time!
Prayer is just one way of us growing a relationship of TRUST in the here and now.
God knows everything that will ever happen. And he knew it before he even invented time.
Before the foundation of the Universe.
It benefits us.

I do NOT claim anything, if you read the Greek the word is helkó, and it means: "To Drag".
To the rest of your question, I SPREAD the good news that EVERYONE will be saved from DEATH, by Jesus Christ.
Now is that NOT good news worthy of spreading????
I would think that everyone would want to know that their loved ones are not lost to time!

But the Jews are in turmoil. They crave God, but will NOT receive him because of his Son!
But, the Jews are NOT without hope since:
Is 45:23- All descendants of Israel justified
Ezk 16:55- Sodom will be restored to former estate
Rm 11:26- All Israel will be saved
And all OTHER people have hope and will be saved!
Acts 3:20,21- Restitution of all
Luke 2:10- Jesus will be joy to all people
Heb 8:11,12- All will know God
Col 1:20- All reconciled unto God

The Greek word that is used in both John 16:7 and Luke 16:25 (In Lazarus and the rich man) BOTH use the VERY SAME Greek Word!!!
Paraklétos, is the Greek Word used in BOTH passages!
Isn't that amazing!???
Gentiles were often referred to as "Dogs"!
And John and Luke us the same Greek word,..."Comforter" (Paraklétos), to show that the Gentiles will NOW be comforted!!

Phl 2:9-11- Every tongue shall confess Jesus is Lord (Yes, but will that save them??)
1Cor 12:3- Cannot confess except by Holy Spirit (It must, if they ALL have the Holy Spirit!!)
Rm 11:26- All Israel will be saved (Even though man says it will not happen!!)

You do not know who God is speaking to, when he talks in certain passages. Certain words, Like Dogs and Pigs are used to mean certain people.
I am not even talking about your quote from Matt. 13, but from all points of God's Word.
Mix that with the fact that the bible is "BADLY" translated in parts, gives you almost NO idea of what is going on.
That is why Original Language is so important!

Jn 6:44- No one can come to Him unless He draws/drags them
If you look up the Greek word helkó used there karburo, it is actually means TO DRAG.
So, it is actually saying "Unless the Father who sent me, DRAGS him!
