i took one look at that beer hauler and wanted to kneel down and praise it...only in japan would you find something so amazing that makes delivering beer so much easier and faster
Actually I saw one in the movie Hanable .....bowels in or out? part. Yea defiantly easy on the back if your job is hauling boxes of beer or cans all day.
To bad we can not get the "real" Japanese beer in the US. Kiren is brewed by Bud... and Asahi and Sapporo are brewed in Canada. They say it is brewed under strict supervision, but there is a big taste difference. I had some Sapporo from Japan and some from Canada. I told my friend if she could tell me which is from Japan I will treat her to Sushi.... she picked it out with no problem and had Sushi on me. I heard Pabst was brewing Suntory for sale in the US, have not run across it yet.
Yea! I was very disappointed with the taste of any Japanese beer brewed by US companies or the like. More so after tasting the real thing. I could find the big silver cans about 32oz from Asahi in certain stores in Boston. They were imported from Tokyo and were great. Cost 3 to 4 dollars a can though.... and worth it!
The only beer imported from Japan here is Orion from Okinawa, and it is $3 a bottle, and it is a pretty good brew. Hope I can make it there around the 12th of Oct since I had to delay my normal Sept trip. Beer and yakitori are calling my name.
Charcoal is a must for grilling yakitori. Looking forward to going there with you when I get back. Have you been to the place in Shinjuku where we went with Chihiro and your wife? What about the place I told you about near Shinjuku station? From 3PM to 7PM beer is only 300yen and the food it really good.
LOL.....I misread "Maturation" as .....well you know.
They should rig those beer hauling dollies to wheels chairs, so stairs are no longer obstacles. What's the worst that could happen? (falling over backwards on some stairs.)
'do they serve beer on the bus...oh darn' hahaa, it's was kinda cool you made it like a short film with a story behind it. The brewery looks like a fantastic place to visit, I will definitely headed up there next time in Japan....appreciated and keep up the good work.
Dude I had to pause this video and grab a Sapporo from the fridge! Too bad for us in the States, it's brewed in Canada (except I think for Sapporo Reserve and the 33 oz. Asahi supercans which are imported). Yebisu is also imported but is prohibitively expensive. How does "Draft's" compare to Asahi/Kirin/Sapporo?
mMm Suntory Premium Malts, nice beer. Apparently Musashino is about 1hr from my sister in laws & my wife has a friend that lives there. But she said we're not going damn'it. No free beer for me : ( lol...enjoyed the vid, cheers mate!
hahaha yeah we can do that no worries mate, would be very cool. I was not far off asking you if you were up for a few beers. I'm making a vid this weekend asking if people are interested in grabbing a few beers while we're there. We're in Tokyo for 3 Fridays & a couple of Saturdays from the 8th of Jan. Missus is most probably coming along (or I'd probably get lost lol), so would be cool if your missus joined us too : )
That little girl with in a pink dress you kept filming, what a sweet little thing!! She your niece? She reminded me of my dear cousin when we were little kids. Looks exactly like her!! You seem to have a fantastic extended family over there. You sir are vey VERY lucky! : )
Sorry also wanted to ask what did you pour on top of your udon dish? Looked really good whatever it was. Maybe I'm just hungry after watching all the food and beer in your video ;)
Oooh fun looking tour AND 3 free beer? Sign me up! I'll have to look this up when/if I visit Japan. Thanks for sharing. Do most major brewery's in Japan offer similar tours? I love trying out different beers from other countries.
Brewery looked awsome! It must be me but I got this Willy Wonka feeling from just looking at it. It's weird seeing as he didn't make beer. The Udon looked yummy! And that little crate mover that can go up stairs, I so want one too!
This was cool as always, but I like that you have added a scenario that tells a story. And you even, sort of, made yourself a character at the beginning there.
HAHA That is so cool!!! So that's what you were doing while i was rushing around , sleeping on busses and catching the plane! =) ...... I actually had "the premium malts" from the vending machine the night before I left. And it was verry good I must say. I have me doing a beer comparison amoungst my vids here somewhere. Too many vids to edit. LOL Take care!!!! =)
I was a regular visitor to Suntory when I lived just a short stroll away in Fuchuhommachi. Well worth a look.

Todd, you need to add a new video of Torikukai. I am planning a trip from 14 Oct to 4 Nov or so... hope to enjoy some Izakaya with you then.

another quality made video, dude! You captured many great clips inside the brewery. Also awesome how KIDS are allowed inside the place, lol.
Didn't like how that lady showcased her pouring skills though. I know us north americans don't like head in our beer but the japanese do; i know
That last clip of that hauling machine was SICKKKKK!!!! only in Japan, lol
