  • Susie (saorise) isn't dead in the movie but not in a real life

  • I know, this was just for the book and for all girls in reality who have been through what Susie indured.

  • Nooo, the character in the book, not in RL.

  • ow oke :D

  • the story of susie salmon is real??? bcausse it was so sad that i couldn't stop crying the whole movie :(

  • the storys not real

  • Sorta. Alice Seybold was raped in real life and i believe they found her rapist. Other than that, no i dont believe there is a real Susie Salmon.

  • @Dustgirl123

Susie Salmon was based, if I correctly recall, upon a girl that Alice Sebold knew was raped, and murdered. Hence her first book, "Lucky," refers to how the police told her she was lucky after just being raped, rather than being raped and murdered. It's sort of like how Stephen King created Carrie White after a girl he knew IRL or how Mike Judge created Daria Morgendorffer based on a girl he knew IRL as well.

  • That's a u2 song called "MLK". It is on the Unforgettable Fire album.

  • WOW she didnt even die in real life.

  • Who? Susie? I know, this is just a song I could see being played at her funeral in the book.

  • hey i danced to this song

  • @jellybellybaby234

It was partly based on the author's rape when she was at a younger age.

  • @jellybellybaby234 It's based off of Alice Sebold's personal account, but she wrote it more so about the murder and hurt. If you read Lucky, her other book, its a memoir and it talks about her getting raped. Its really sad:(

  • i loved that movie honestly made me cry. but then the guy died and i laughed as he fell down that hill lol

  • @popcorntome

Lol, YES! I'm not the only haha. I did too, lol.

  • She is such a good actor and she is so beautiful, and has though lovely dreamy eyes

  • ya it is based on a true story the author! alice sebold said she related this to when she got raped in university and he raped another girl and she died

  • @LittleYoungEinstein It's MLK by U2.

  • what do you mean that she's not rea she's a person

  • you knoow she wasnt a real person right

  • The trailer looks amazing.. I can't wait to see the film. One of my favourite novels!

  • These were the lovely bones that had grown around my absence: the connections — sometimes tenuous, sometimes made at great cost, but often magnificent — that happened after I was gone. And I began to see things in a way that let me hold the world without me in it. The events my death brought were merely the bones of a body that would become whole at some unpredictable time in the future. The price of what I came to see as this miraculous lifeless body had been my life.

  • I love that quote!

  • me too, i copied it from the book.

    i have it highlighted...lol

  • Lol. i have it bookmarked for whatever

  • i dont like bookmarks....
