yeah, me too. i watched him and sawyer brown on star search. i will never forget his somewhere over the rainbow, it was incredible. i bought his cassette when it came out and then his sugar don't bite one.  later i got the CDs.

Sam, every time I see you you make the hairs on my body stand up. It's been that way since '82, my friend. Of course I remember the Star Search days but what I remember the most is going to the mall and walking into the record store and seeing your debut album. Running out and begging my Mother for my allowance early so I could buy it. I played it constantly and had to buy another. Thank you for all the years of music. You have ebbed along with my life.
