Great music from a great era..NO...we can't travel back in time but at least the good memories and feelings will always be kept alive through this brilliant music.
Bentley's NYC....oohhhhh the memories, when skirts were short but tasteful and gentlemen really showed you what they were working with...in those tight jeans...hooo hoooo!
Man its memory lane taking me back thriugh time in the funk capsule..man i don't care what anybody says ...Micheal jackson will always be the best in the world..his music wasn't ment for the world anyways!!!!!!!!!!! R! P
This was a top tune in it's day,i was 19 in 1981 and had been running round Londons west end for a few years ,yes the music of today is nothing compared to the 12'' discs of yesterday,i too miss those lyceum nights but i remember that gradually the clubs and the music started to loose their appeal for whatever reason and we all started to move on with the times>Where we all ended up i think has left us all looking back to the 70s and 80s as somewhere we can only visit here in our heart & mind
Folks! there nothing like the old skuul. This remember me of when were we. Back then we don't know what we were doing. But today, is all good and perfect. Gone are will always be the best in our life, Keep the draem alive. Enjoy till you drop. So long!!!
This is a remix. The original has a more innocent feel to it, this one is rough and tumble but it is the better version. That "Don't ever wanna come down, down, down.... use to drive me crazy. My first introduction to Shep Pettibone's remixes.
Come on ya'll lets put our heads together and invent a time machine so we can go back to the 80's! Man do I miss those days when the music was real good.
Man this song brings back memories, I can't believe i forgotten about this band, I get chills just listening to this. Man this was true music to the core. Music like this gave you inspiration, help you take on challenges in everyday life, expanded your imagination. I remember in the clubs I would be soaked in sweat dancing my ass of. I was about 21 back then. The music, the girls, oh man, i wish i could go back in time.
WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT BACK THEN IN THE EARLY 80'S, THAT GREAT R&B MUSIC LIKE THIS, WOULD BECOME A THING OF THE PAST.....THATS WHY I HOLD ON TO EVERY SONG I CAN GET A HOLD OF.... GREAT MEMORIES FOR ME GROWING UP.......!!!!!!!
The lead signer of Skyy his brother use to live in New River(Jacksonville,NC) He drove a yellow VW bettle...Think I'm lieing do your homework. -Grice;Poindexter-
i'm french and iam a hudge bif fan of SKYY,from the first 'call me' and superlove, here's to you, let's celebrate and many more, such a great band!that what i called music, the're no more sound like this in our days unfortunatly.
This group was SUPER relevant on the airwaves (radio) and in the clubs! They had so many hit records. I doesn't hurt that they were from NY and had swagger!!
the LET'S CELEBRATE version released on radio was a secondary mix by SHEP PETTIBONE in 1982.The original , by Francois Kevorkian ,was put in the archive because it had more of an r&b groove and at the time it was felt that a "DISCO" dance beat would be more of a crowd pleaser. This song is so good that either one would have burned up the charts!
everytime i hear this song,i think of fort lee,and a place called mr. js ,it was outside of fort lee,in petersburgh va. ......lisa jenkins whereever you are ill always love you.......
back in the good ol Disco days in Auckland NZ there used to be a club called DRASCOS and BABS..disco hangouts..i didnt geet in of course but my cousins used to come home with this music.,1 song i couldnt find on limewire and othere p2p was SKYY - GOnna get it on.,,does anyone have it..oh and props to the memories..JAM THE BOX WATTTTT
yeah, i remember. 107.5 wbls was rockin also......do you remember the 50 cent juices from the deli and the $2.00 hero sandwiches in the summertime???? i miss the early eighties

"I want to celebrate everyday that our love last you helped me forget about my past, you may think I am going in sane, let's break out the champaigne" wow!

Most of the music of back then you can listen to forever, cuz it was made by humans, not by computers.
Not that computerized music can't be rememberable, but it has to be a very good composition to withstand time.
Acoustics are far more pleasant for the ear.
