@natureisthelife you must be allowed to change your grip on the bat mid ball, otherwise any shot where the bat moves in your hands is illegal. Pietersen plays both the reverse sweep and the "switch hit" the later where he changes to a left handed grip, what needs to be sorted is the rules for LBW, not limiting the way the batsmen can make strokes. The bowler needs to declare how he is bowling before he bowls anyway, so the side switching should not be an issue.
