  • does anybody know why she is holding a ribbon in her hand? It's been bugging me since viewing this movie.

  • Priceless! I'm reading Mary Pickford's biography and how so many of her early movies (and the early silent movies in general) just deteriorated to the point that they're lost forever... It's a shame they didn't have a way to preserve them...or just didn't realize anybody would want to watch them years down the road. Anybody who likes movies should appreciate these great old films and the stars who really got the industry rolling.

    Thank you for posting this!

  • Remarkable, underplayed performances by both Pickford and Barrymore, especially for 1912.

  • this is lovely.

  • I actually gasped at 7:43 !

  • Yes!

  • D.W. Griffith was such an amazing director. He could really get you into the mood of the movie, like when Mary's father rips the hat up, I actually gasped. Great find, I see why it is one of your favorites!

  • Many thanks.
