Haydn is not Baroque. He went through a Sturm und Drang phase around 1770 founded the classical symphony and quartet - took great pride in his operas, which he considered important, and went on to become a Romantic in many ways, disregarding classical conventions again and again, and seeking to express emotions, anticipating Schubert.
Haydn is decidedly not Baroque - he often preferred expressive monophonic melodies.
For most people, all this is classical. For me it is too. I just find it fitting in the classical, because it has these instruments. No genre expert I be but.
I'm sure there are many people who like the Seasons more than the Creation. Great as the Creation is, the Seasons has a level of clean perfection which has probably never been equaled in Art. It's the embodiment of the notion of "Classic".
This is wonderful! I know you put it here mainly for embedding it on your website, but still - what a luxury to watch and listen to such a beautiful performance on YT! I guess I'm the only person in the world who prefers the Seasons over the Creation... all those hearty songs about peasant life... and then, at the end, this glorious transcendence -- how could you not love this? Thanks for sharing!

this was one of the later works in Haydn's life! and by then the classical period had already been well-established.

Como cambia el sonido de una coral, acompañada de una buena orquesta y unos excelentes solistas. Enhorabuena
