I was at the 1979 Houston show myself. At a club called the Palace(?) I think, on Richmond Avenue. I tried to purchase the cheap, pink promotional sunglasses from everyone for $20. No one was selling.
I remember listening to them in the late 70,s but LOST my vinyl copy (AARGGH!) This music was great for a rebellious 15 yr old who played it as loud as poss just to annoy people.
Wow- call out the happines patrol !!! at last i find this strange memory from the past *S*:)
Got it on vinyl only - until now : )
sooooo many years - and it´s still flipping awsome : )
ATTENTION FOLKS :
BRAINWASH YOUR KIDS : - RIPP THIS TUNE - PUT IT ON A CD - MAKE THEM LISTEN TO IT EVERY TIME YOU DRIVE .....Like i do... but then again,-i´m strange : )
This was great to find. I was on tour in the US with Tom Petty, lighting crew, and these guys opened up for us. They were great and fun. I am looking at some photo I took of them on stage and had to do a youtube search.
this is actually the 2nd time in 30 years I heard this cool song, back there I thought this was a tune by The Residents(my favorite obscure band of all!!!) THANX 4 THE EDUCATION UPDATE...GREAT SONG!!!
This makes me feel SOOOO old!!! Used to play this in the 6th form common room (FULL BLAST of course)> No one else liked it but then - who said they had taste!!
My mom had this album, (I'm 31), and as a little kid I remember her putting it on and just hanging out in the living room together. Those are the best memories.
Mine still works well since 1978! You can still find many new on Amazon, they have a whole vinyl store too .... I'd suggest getting a USB turntable so you can transfer the vinyl (and "clean" the recordings) you like to files/CDs, etc... I have one and even a digital audio recorder for my stereo system (transfers things to CD and copies CDs...but a USB one does a better job) :) :)
great band

And you can just imagine how much fun this song is for a little kid, as i was!

Ahhh.... the "FAB POOS!" Met the guys at their show and cruised them around Houston piled into my brand new turquoise trans am in 1979!
Classy Brits too - didn't even try to take advantage of us pretty young things!

I remember this awesome, groovy song from back in the day. Ahhh, good times.

Dig this little jammy, is there two fab poodles? The other songs under the same name don't.....well, lets say they suck.

They kind of reminded me a little of the B-52's.

I totally agree. New Wave but sort of dark; totally a grandkid of Punk Rock...

@thercguy Nobody believes me when I tell them the Poodles outsold The Clash with their first LP here in the states. What a great band.

Air guitar in the dorm courts...Sequined tube tops, shorts and high heels; a tennis racket each and the required unlit Kool cigarette.
What a great song. Saw the Fab Poodles when they opened for Tom Petty and we were pretty much never the same.
Bring on Vampire Rock, ya'll!
1216 forever.
