The danger with so-called 'evidence' is in the system of belief practices - that surround the agent - which has 'evidence' for that system (e.g. Christianity). I.e. If that system provides 'evidence' and a fledgling 'believer' comes to believe and, in their belief, must espouse to the 'evidence' of the credibility of God; the only thing seemingly occurring is an exchange of belief for evidence. Evidence is by no means proof and without it, there is merely evidence that is believed in.
@UnBeguiled The burden of proof is on the one claiming our experience of the flow of time is an illusion. If I told you the physical world was really an illusion, the burden would be on me to justify that claim. The same applies to our experience of the flow of time.
@CasperTheMeanieGhost I've had good luck with Augustine's notion of time, reworked by Ricouer. I don't know if you've had a chance to invest in these two sources but, if you're interested, pick up v.1 of Ricouer's book, Time and Narrative. It will give the references necessary to go to Augustine's argument, as well. It's more of a literary-critical/hermenuetical argument but, it can be plugged in to theology, if necessary.
