No, no, no.. Media coverage in the US is biased, and the US public does not know the truth about Palestine... BUT, it's not only "Zionist Jews" who do this. Many fundamentalist Christians/Christian Zionists have a much more media control (look at Pat Robertson, John Hagee, etc.) Plus, the US likes Israel as a US military base in the Middle East, for energy (OIL!). Oil companies also benefit from this relationship, and as the richest companies in the US, they have much media control.

So, it is all of these interests coming together: oil, financial institutions (who benefit from oil), Zionists (Christians and Jews), military interests. The US media rarely is critical of the US military. DON'T say it is "the Jews who control the American media." That is not true, and ignores many other factors. Plus it fuels racism. Its illogical to only wait until more Israelis die in order to justify their right to self-defense.
