Hey joshi been doing some research on some delays and its down to the carbon copy and the line 6 delay modeler. which do you prefer??? have you a run in with the line 6 at all?? if so how does it compare to the carbon copy?? Thanks mate!
@submit1 The Line 6 delay modeler is brilliant! The main difference is that the Line 6 unit is more versatile. So if you're looking for versatility go for the Line 6, if you want just a lovely, warm analog delay sound, go for the Carbon Copy.
Greeting from Texas Josh.Great demo and nice playin on that Tele. I been tracking these Carbon Copies for a while on you tube and yours is one of the best demos ive come across I been using MIJ DD3's for a long time but your demo has me thinking its time for a CC. Thanks!
I've wanted this for awhile and am most likely going to go get it for my birthday today. I play through a Mesa Boogie Road King II and what you're doing with this pedal is making me yearn for it even more because its capabilities of such warmth and lustrous ambient tones. All I want to do is play "Time" solo from Pink Floyd with it with the Mod on!!!
so I've been testing the MXR CC, but i've also read and listened to the TC Electronice Nova Delay ANNND the Boss Space Echo. MXR CC appears to be a bit limited. I need tap tempo and on the Nova it can store 8 or 9 presets. Any thoughts?
@joelg125 That's a fair point, I really like the Carbon Copy but you are right it is fairly limited. I mainly use it subtly to add a different dynamic to my lead sounds. The Nova has some cool tones plus the tap tempo is very useful. A friend of mine has a Nova Delay and it sounds brilliant. The Nova would be a good purchase.
@testing123reviews Im gonna order either this, the EH Memory Toy, or the Malekko Ekko today. How warm and dark is this in person? Is it subtle but noticeable? Does it add nice ambience that can be used in all situations? Does it give a reverb-like feel as well?
@testing123reviews Does this pedal fatten up or color the dry sound at all? I wouldn't mind if it fattened it up. I just sold my Malekko 616 cus of money issues, but I'll be buying another one soon, and I would like this. This seems like it could do the sound of the 616 and have its own character
@theShowStopper321 I've found that it does fatten up your tone. Before, I had been using the Boss DD-3 which is a great pedal. I wanted to try the Carbon Copy after seeing Doug Aldrich and Carl Verheyen use it, and it has a much warmer quality. It hardly colors your sound even though it is an analog pedal, the overall result sounds fantastic!
@testing123reviews I just got mine last week. I had the Malekko 616 but sold it. It didn't color my tone enough. I like an echo pedal to react like an Echoplex where it kind of hits your signal and adds some saturation and color to the tone. I think the MXR does this better than the 616. The 616 was too bright in Bufered and too dull all around in TB. Also, the repeats were too present n I had to keep the mix super low all the time.
I just got my peddle working today, I have the Regan at 0, Mix at about 7 o clock and the delay from anywhere to one o clock to six o clock. there is one slapback repeat, takes a little getting used to when playing with the delay it kind of messes with your head because of the sweet anticipation of the last lick or note you pick becuase of the sweet delay
Killer tone and playing man!
