I have friends locked up in Michigan, and they are telling me that its getting worse by the day. Every possible place to put a bed, they are doing it. Its a shame that the parole board will not honor the original intent of "Truth in Sentencing" Let guys go on there first out date!!

Yea, the people in Lansing are WAY out of touch with what is actually going on behind the walls. I'm sure they do "walk throughs" and that's about it. The Governor and Legislators have lots of great ideas, but no one really takes the time to see if they will work practically. Plus NO ONE wants to come of as being "soft on crime", so the situation is not likely going to change very soon. My friend got a 2-6 for Assault with Dangerous Weapon he's got 1yr left w/NO TICKETS! Board does not like him!

there are so many laws that almost anything you do can get you arrested or at least ticketed/fined. street patrol officers even have quotas as to how many tickets they MUST write per month. big corporations own a lot of prisons. former Vice President Dick Cheney has his hands involved in the "prison racket".
