I created an account so I could comment on the absolute vitrol I see posted here! As a current active duty member I am absolutely appalled at the disgusting language I see here, even from people who say they're in similar programs! The point of this program is to help teach the importance of the core values Naval members live by, as well as important life skills. They're learning. That's the best you can ask for.
Im only checking out the drill here because im setting up a drilling team. I am shoked by the unprofessionalism of this Navy Cadet training. Considering I'm having to combine FOUR services, just this one is terrible. As a Cadet Petty Officer Coxswain, I suggest you invest in some Ex-Service personell to train these guys, because it is absolutely abysmal. The Colour Guard dont put their feet down at the right time, and that's just damn disrespectful to the flag.

it doesnt matter what both of you say. No military based program is better than civil air patrol. Sea cadets army cadets or whatever, you guys dont do shit. Your drill is horrid, you program offers nothing to help get into good military colleges and you cant even do anything at airshows. I "worked" with sea cadets at an airshow and all they did was try and set up are barracks for us and they couldn't even do that. Cap did everything for the airshow. So sorry but this is the truth.
Compared to us in the british cadet forces, their drill is rubbish, most aren;t even in step, their not even swinging their arms!, having said that, their standing to attention was top class!

Anyhow, I respect all cadet elements. We each do different things within the military, each as equally important as the next. To me, there is no BETTER element, but there are better Corps and squadrons.
I just skimmed through a 5 minuet NSCC mini boot camp video (3rd one down in related videos) and it reminded me a lot of CAP encampment. Again...it's a matter of taste. If you wana learn about the Nave joing the NSCC if you wana learn about the AF join the CAP.
keep in mind these are all recruits, most of them have only been in for about a month. also these are navy leaguers they standers are lower than sea cadets. the only sea cadets were the staff cadets.
I do agree in regards to the marching. It is quite atrocious. A friend of mine who was in CAP and switched to the NSCC told us that the cadet's can't march worth a dime in the NSCC. About your second point, I have no idea what you're trying to prove. Cadets get to work onboard Navy Destroyers, Patrol Craft and other things just as cool as planes. And about flying in gliders on every weekend? That's only for a few units. The advanced rank enlistment also applies to the NSCC
Also in regards to your encampments. I was able to go to one at Wright Patterson USAF Base in Ohio. And it wasn't that great. And your NCSA's aren't that great either. The NSCC has countless better ones. Can any of you guys actually get to train with the USAF Parajumpers? Because our cadets go to Little Creek and train with the SEALs. Or can you get EOD training from actual Air Force EOD techs? Because we go to Norfolk, Virginia and get trained by actual Navy EOD techs and DM's.

civil air patrol is not even a comparison to this program. This is a congressionally chartered youth program, is yours? We have access to any navy base or Naval Air Station, Do you? I was in Young Marines for a year and I've been in Sea Cadets for about 3 years. Young Marines can PT, march and shoot better than any other Military Youth Program. But, Sea Cadets has more oppritunity than any other organization. CAP, I'm not too crazy about. Think you're the shit when your not. No one in the military youth programs are the shit, including me. Thats why I'm joining the Marine Corps next year.
Sea cadets are the best, why are you all talking shit about the different branches etc, someday these guys will be saving you asses from ah(flem)med, and besides marching is pizzaz, though its not the best in the video, you cant blame them, in Navy Sea Cadets bootcamp they cram 3 months full of really BCT into 1 week. song sucks as well.

I see it the same way and I used to be all about Air Force, but I wouldn't say that their not important... they just don't sit back and relax, they do whatever they can to keep the guys on the Ground Safe and the other Branches admire the USAF for what they do, plus they have Ground SF, and the Navy has more Aircraft than the Air Force so that proves a point
it is very easy to get out of time unless they are stepping it short while marching. I just finnished the 2007 2008 Advanced leaders course and we were even better than they are and we had guns in the sweltering heat. it just takes time even if it is basics they will get it eventualy

I'm no expert but I think PJOC and APJOC is with the USAF.
Also we have Blue Beret. It involvs working at one of the worlds largest Air Shows in Oshgosh (spelling?), WI. Don't know what EOD stands for or DM???
Something funny because were AF, my squadron stayed at patriots point (retierd aircraft carrier) in December and it was hella fun.
BOTTOM LINE FOR EVERYONE WHO ARGUES THE NSCC AND CAP.....IF YOU LIKE AIR JOIN CAP, IF YOU LIKE WATER JOIN NSCC. they both have things to offer

Even if they are recruits they should of been able to march good after what ever they went too.
Yes, some CAP encampments arnt good but down here in the South East Region, SER, we have probably the best encampments.
CAP has more and better NCSA's than you probably think. Also one of the NCSAs is ParaJumperOrientationCourse PJOC and Advance PJOC.

OK, I am a NCO is the CAP (C/SMSgt) and will make my stand on the "sea cadets or CAP"
1) Are they trying to march, or get everybody dizzy by being out of step. I mean, even the color guard sucked.
2)IN CAP we can fly in jets, C-17's, get our pilots and gliders licencse, fly in gliders every weekend

I do agree in regards to the marching. It is quite atrocious. A friend of mine who was in CAP and switched to the NSCC told us that the cadet's can't march worth a dime in the NSCC. About your second point, I have no idea what you're trying to prove. Cadets get to work onboard Navy Destroyers, Patrol Craft and other things just as cool as planes. And about flying in gliders on every weekend? That's only for a few units. The advanced rank enlistment also applies to the NSCC

Also in regards to your encampments. I was able to go to one at Wright Patterson USAF Base in Ohio. And it wasn't that great. And your NCSA's aren't that great either. The NSCC has countless better ones. Can any of you guys actually get to train with the USAF Parajumpers? Because our cadets go to Little Creek and train with the SEALs. Or can you get EOD training from actual Air Force EOD techs? Because we go to Norfolk, Virginia and get trained by actual Navy EOD techs and DM's.

civil air patrol is not even a comparison to this program. This is a congressionally chartered youth program, is yours? We have access to any navy base or Naval Air Station, Do you? And if this is how the civil air patrol teaches it's cadets to behave then no wonder it's not nationwide. I am an officer in the sea cadets and proud of this program.

actually if you knew anything...we are in the navy chain of command, we get our pilots wings, we train with the fighter squadrons of the navy, we get to train with the seals and with the special warfare boat crewsso before you go spouting off know what you are talking about....I spent 6 years acive duty and a total of 4 years as a cadet and 3 years as an officer so get your facts right..

I was in Young Marines for a year and I've been in Sea Cadets for about 3 years. Young Marines can PT, march and shoot better than any other Military Youth Program. But, Sea Cadets has more oppritunity than any other organization. CAP, I'm not too crazy about. Think you're the shit when your not. No one in the military youth programs are the shit, including me. Thats why I'm joining the Marine Corps next year.

I see it the same way and I used to be all about Air Force, but I wouldn't say that their not important... they just don't sit back and relax, they do whatever they can to keep the guys on the Ground Safe and the other Branches admire the USAF for what they do, plus they have Ground SF, and the Navy has more Aircraft than the Air Force so that proves a point

it is very easy to get out of time unless they are stepping it short while marching. I just finnished the 2007 2008 Advanced leaders course and we were even better than they are and we had guns in the sweltering heat. it just takes time even if it is basics they will get it eventualy

Hell week is when they navy seals only get about i think its like 5 hours of sleep, i forgot but its around only like 5 hours of sleep and they constantly have to train in the whole week every day with only like 5 hours of sleep
