You complain about big pharmacy making profits, but it appears that you are also attempting to profit by promoting your maximized living, or is this a nonprofit organization that provides services with government funding? Highly Unlikely, I'm sure you charge a nice fee to provide consumers with maximized living.
I have seen with my own eyes and experienced the pain of watching someone else on a few of the drugs mentioned above. He did not take them like he should have because he didnt like how he felt. Taking them caused him to lash out at me and become unbareable to live with. He has hurt himself physically in the past and hurt others including me. I feel there are other ways to deal with ADHD and other problems...we just have to quit trying to shove pills down kids throats for an easy fix

seriously? i used to take concerta fer my adhd not only did it help me with that but it also helped me with my manic depression as well... these kids had other problems they didnt freak out becuz they were on meds. they freaked out because they needed a loving hand. my brother takes straterra and he has no thoughts of killing anything either. the only person in my family that has killed anythign was my lil sis she used to stab gerbils to death with pencils and guess wat SHE WASNT ON ANYTHIN!!!

first of all, i don't think anyone here is contesting that these drugs have an effect on people (some good, for others, not so good). i think the point dr ashley makes is that there are no SPECIFIC tests that show a need for mood altering drugs (psychotropes). there is no measurable, quantifiable chemical imbalances detectable. this is unlike diabetes, hypertension, gout.....
