MW3 is locked at 60fps on both consoles. You can thank the dated optimized Quake 3 engine for that.

BF3 looks and runs great on the current consoles, especially considering the dated hardware compared to modern PC's. All this will be a moot point when the next Xbox comes out. You PC gamers should want new consoles, as the current gen is holding back the full potential of PC's.

Because consoles hold up rather well against PC's for a long time. Battlefield 3 on the PC doesn't make the PS3/Xbox 360 versions look like an Atari game. The biggest difference is better resolution, shadows, lighting, but the overall texture detail is not leaps and bounds better. You have to admit that what's still possible on 7 yr old hardware is rather impressive.

30fps is fine for most games. The only time you really need 60fps is in racing and sports games which the consoles handle fine. Sure, the graphics are dumb downed, but it's not fair to compare 2012 PC tech to 7 yr old console tech. The next Xbox will be night and day better than the 360.

@charvelgtrs Fine if you play them casually. Now consider there is an actual sponsored pro scene in 3D fps and other games on the consoles (no matter how weird that sounds) and that's where 30 fps is pristine fail, not mentioning the controllers.

@xcloudx01 Ones who, literally, have gazillion processing cores. Oh, and I almost forgot, these systems also have twice as much RAM. And they're all linked together to create the most sophisticated and brutal HPC you've ever heard of or seen! On on top of that, everything I just mentioned is overclocked to the max (and some more), using liquid nitrogen. Just go visit Area 51, it's there... ;)

@Harpreet06 I agree 100%....they had to make the game run on shitty old console hardware.I bought 2 GTX 580's for this game,thought it was gonna be awesome....I was completely wrong.Battlefield 3 is gonna ALOT better than Crysis or Crysis 2.

@xlr8r2010 that unreal tech demo they showed was running in real time using 2 gtx 580s and 1 more for pshyx. it can definitely be done now. it will be alot more cost effective with the next gen of graphics cards. moving from 40nm to 28nm so they are estimating 75% performance increase, basically gtx 680 will be very close to 2xgtx 580s.

@gromislaw18 It means that the GPU (graphics processing unit) is creating all the images frame by frame, so there is no actual video clip; a video is like buying an apple pie already made, when you render you're making the pie from scratch yourself.
