  • IM BATMAN!

  • 11:15 Sakuya's butt hahahahaha

  • Our powers combined, I am Captain Planet!

  • with the sake, WE CANS GET PLASTERED!

  • 11:15 Always confused me, is that an ass-less kimono or a well placed peach design?

  • @BlakDragon220 Both.

  • 11.16 BUTT BUTT!! =D

  • "Are you even old enough to drink?" If anything, Amaterasu is too old!

  • 11:15 WTF AT SAKUYAS ROBE

  • Well... Sake IS technically rice wine, so...

  • Guess that rock was made of Obsidian --- HOW DID WOOD JUST DO THAT?!

  • actauly the name is susa no o or susa no mikato his name

  • I'm mad that hearing the names Amaterasu and Susano remind me of the moves used in Naruto. But thanks for explaining the mythology behind thier names, now I can say I learned somthing today.

  • Actually, the name susano is the same. It's just that in mythology the full name is susano'o, I think he's supposed to be a god too, and Ammy's brother.

  • I love how Ammy tell Issun to shut up. Her directness is simply excellent.

  • lol your warning is nice

  • can some one answer to how the hell that wooden sword can not break when bashed agenst a big ass stone or is it minecraft physics where a wooden pick axe can dig through most of a mountain

  • nt only sakuya calls you your name mr orange kinda does of do it too

  • 11:14......... CHANGE MY MIND ABOUT SAKUYA (if you now what im talking about)

  • just a question:

wasn't there something about a pond and the reflection of the moon in the mythology

  • @MsMMMMMM12 We'll be getting to that later.

  • 11:14 - Why is there a hole in Sakuya's kimono so that we are able to see her ass???

  • Comment removed

  • sake during medieval japan was made by women easting the ingrediants and then spitting it back out again... its the way there fermennted it weird but true

  • sake = rice wine. I'm not sure how it's made beyond that, but just a little bit of trivial knowlege

  • susano has a wooden sword and yet he says it can cut a boulder? you have to be a 1st grader to believe that

  • 8:05 Train man is a great movie! xD

  • hey naka how do you make lp's? i know you don't use emulators, so how do you record the games? what do you use to edit? and do you use a walkthrough/guide?

  • @thehasbeenthatneverw

I'm going out on a limb here and guessing that he uses a capture card. (Which I've heard is one of the best ways to record a TV'd game) I could be totally wrong, though.

  • sakuya and the brushstroke gods calls you by your true name.

  • Whenever someone says to me "why do today what you can do tommorrow?" i always say "what is today, but yesterday's tommorrow?" so yeah. usually that just makes them stare at me for a few seconds, and then they walk away.

  • This maybe something you were thinking of showing later or possible did not know it happens, so as not to spoil the nice touch to the game, try simply putting a dot of ink on the ground or in the sky and see what happens.

  • I love how Kushi is the only character that will run up to Ammy and pet her when she's close enough. ♥ Just shows how much of a sweetheart Kushi is.

  • I just listened to a Japanese speaker from Japan on this awesome pronunciation site, and she pronounced Susano'o with a held out "oh" sound at the end of the name. So after hearing it coming from a native speaker of Japan, I trust that's how it's correctly pronounced. "Soo sah nō"

  • "No one calls you by your actual name. NO ONE." I know other people have posted this, but just to confirm what they said. Ammy IS called by her true name by other characters. For starters, all brush gods call her Amaterasu. Some more important characters will call her Amaterasu as well(queens and a king; a prophet and holy woman; at least one boss). I'm naming no names as to not spoil anything. It's not too common, but it does happen.

  • "I have barely the energy to speak" As she continues to babble on for three more speech bubbles.

  • There are several things that are bugging me:

    1. Considering how the water wheel works, the broken bit should be at the bottom, not the top. I know that its there for gameplay reasons, but still...

    2. I noticethat you can 'bite' Kushi, does that mean you could randomly pick her up and walk off with her?

    3. Could somebody explain the how the astral pouch works, I believe that Naka said that it acts a sort of revival system. So where does the food and the stat increase come into it?

  • @Parsonator64

    2. You can indeed pick her up and carry her off. I haven't really experimented with this, so I'm not sure to what degree.

    3. A pouch has to be full before it will revive you. It's been a while, but I assume the upgrades give you more pouches, and as such more times you can be revived. If memory serves, four max.

  • @NakaTeleeli Are you told at any point how much fruit is required to fill this pouch?

  • @Parsonator64 Not directly, but I'm pretty sure the number on the astral pouch box that shows up when you get food is a percentage.

  • @Jalathas Ok, I'll have a closer look next time Naka gets some fruit

  • Wow, there is rice in rice wine? What are the odds? That's like saying there is poultry in a chicken soup. That would just be silly... :)

  • Susano is a bit of a bad swordsman, he probably does have some skill but is just too lazy. And it would probably help if he had a real sword instead of a branch made to look like one.

  • So Naka, off topic but how annoyed are you with Dragon Quest IX considering it is filled with nothing but puns?

  • I thought the name was pronounce Susanoo, like (Su-san-oo-oh)

  • I'd just call him Susano since that's what they called him in The Little Princess and the Eight Headed Dragon. I think if that movie portrayed Susano right, Susano is a child looking for his mother across the sea (she is actually dead) and his sister IS Amatarasu (I think).

  • susano is alot like mister satan in dbz. being a selfish, cowardly moron taking the credit for other peoples work, but is still a little bit brave when it comes to it...

  • heres a tip, naka: you can cut the giant orange(the fruit, not the color) on top of mr. and ms. oranges house for 100 fruit.

  • I wonder who would win, susano or cirno. They both claim to be the strongest, and there can only be 1 strongest person.

  • With all these names, I'm trying to remeber an animated movie from when I was a kid. The hero was a boy seeking his mother and meeting several god-like beings along the way. Amaterasu being his sister, and his brother being the king of some crystal palace. Can someone give me the name of this movie? Also, the final battle was against Orochi to save a madden.

  • i'm reminded of hercule from dbz. i shall call him suzy!

  • granted, in the mythos, he's a badass. here, he's just a joe. kinda sad really.

  • were did you learn all the japanese mytholigy

    i wanna learn it to

    and waka calls you amaatarusu

  • i beleive waka calls you amatarusue

  • holy crap the voices are really annoying

  • @BaDnEwS6666

Same thinking here. It ticks me off! Luckily Naka Speaks simultaniously, so I concentrade on him.

  • Thanks for the reasurrances Naka. I am a bit of a worry wort and have seen far too many people gloss over the first part of the game only to regret it later. Also isn't Susano hilarious in this game, I mean look at him after he cuts that boulder in half, he's all like: "I thought this sword was made out of wood-how the heck did it manage to cut through a boulder?" Heh, you crazy Suzano!

  • Then again just about all the mythology names are shortened... (Iza)Nagi and (Iza)Nami and Kushi(nada)...

  • It's not pronounced Susanoo so much as Susanowo or susa-no-o. Not an oo like spook, but two o's like rope next to each other.

  • finally leaving the village :D

  • The god Susanoo's name is pronounced "Soo-sa-noh-oh", actually. ^_^

Also, this game looks really fun.

  • why is it that often women in games wear really odd or revealing clothing? like did you notice that sakuya had a hole purposley on the rear of her kimono? why? and just the way women in games dress sometimes makes you wonder. oh well. maybe the designers are just perverts.

  • @dewybmt In this game, it's actually uncommon. They're generally only shown that way when the character is intentionally portrayed as being attractive. There are plenty of shirtless guys here too. With Sakuya, her theme is the peach. In traditional Japanese art, the female figure is often paralleled with the peach, specifically the butt and bosom. They emphasized this for Sakuya. I'll admit it's done often, but I wouldn't overreact to every little thing.

  • @NakaTeleeli i dont only mean sakuya. i mean in any game in general. (touhou being kind of an example but hey its a world with only women so i guess meh.) but i get what your saying. and i guess it makes sense. though still when it comes to just any game even if it has nothing to do with japanese culture i swear... but i guess thats another story. and i didnt overreact i just didnt get it so...yea. thanks anyways.

  • @NakaTeleeli I dunno, that has to be one of the weirdest features I've ever seen on a piece of clothing.

  • @Parsonator64 You mean ass-less chaps like clothing?

  • @Silviremon Please punctuate your sentence, I can't understand what you're trying to say

  • @Parsonator64 I meant, "Are you referring to the kimono that is similar to ass-less chaps?" Just disregard what I said, horribly failed attempt at being a jerk. Emphasis on horribly failed.

  • @Silviremon I guess we were, unless you can't tell in the video

    Bad luck on the fail

  • @Parsonator64 It was more in reference to the fact that, yes, there are clothes like that. It was a rhetorical, with a jerkish tone, question. But that doesn't mean they aren't weird. I should have put it like this the first time: "You mean ass-less chaps?"

  • @Silviremon ass-less chaps are amazing

  • @Silviremon Why does the fact that ass-less clothing exist not surprise me?

  • @dewybmt

Two words Fan service and yes i bet my right testicle that video games will always be male dominated it will never drop below 70% male players.

  • @ZombieXJester woah thats a big bet. you better pray to god that male players never drop below 70%. XD

  • Also, shouldn't it be "Warning: This video contains a lady's exposed peach-shaped bosom" or something?

I was expecting to see... Ah, never mind. I prefer it this way.

  • @CarrotShticks My vocabulary is appaling, but I'm pretty sure that bosom refers to the chest, not behind. Then again I could be wrong

  • @Parsonator64 Yes, I think bosom does mean the top which is why I suggested changing it to that, but Naka said bottom, which makes me think of the behind, not the top.

  • @CarrotShticks That was kind of the point. Wait for a back-shot of her.

  • @NakaTeleeli Ohh, I didn't notice that part because of the chat box was in the way.

So I guess I will just have to avert my eyes from her at all times.

  • To clear up what Issun is, he's a Koropukkuru but i think they call them Poncles in this game

  • This'll be trouble, remembering all his names... :/

  • oh Naka you silly person you, you should of gone to Kushi with Susano on your back, for the lols as it were.

  • I'm impressed that Amaterasu can climb a ladder while carrying a heavy, lazy man on her back without opposable thumbs

  • Well,she IS a goddess.

  • @4:19 What is today but yesterdays tomorrow

  • @NakaTeleeli what is you favorite weapon type i like the rosaries

  • Why is his glaive/sword made of wood

  • sake is basically just a rice wine

  • Hey Naka. Just to let you know. Susano'o is the name from mythology. But the interesting thing is that it's not an "oo" sound, you pronounce as "two" seperate long "O's". "Soo - san- Oh - Oh. But at the end, you pronounce the two O's quickly. Sorry, that parts kind of hard to explain. <:/ Hope that helps! :D

  • @XTheFirstkazekageX Another way it often gets romanized is Susanowo. That's horrible, linguistically, but it does help get about the right sound.

  • @Jalathas Oh. I've never seen it romanized that way before. Thanks for the feed back. :)

  • I knew sake was made with rice watch inuyasha

  • Having never played this game I can safely say at this point.

I adore the art style and characters here already. Mostly Susano though, he makes meh laugh.

  • Ammy has one great presonality

  • Hey Naka, a couple points. Firstly, the other gods recognise you as Amaterasu, as do all of your enemies (except for a few extremely stupid exceptions). Secondly, I really hope that you did not go out into the next area yet. As an old hand at this game I can tell you that there are still quite a few praise points that you could get in the village. For that matter, if you really tried, you could completely fill your Astral Pouch. Lastly, you did not meet everyone in the entire village,

  • @bltanti I'm not playing this game blind. I've beaten it many many times. Believe me, I know what I'm doing.

  • Yup, Sake is fermented rice.

  • Susano is actually the name of a god Susano-o Amaterasu's brother i guess his name is an abriviation

  • I kinda like how the Astral Pouch is a really clever name for the concept of Hammer Space.

  • hey naka were did you learn all this japanese mytholigy i like mytholigy

so i wanna learn it 2

  • I live life Susano-style.

  • i do believe that the brush gods call you by your name but i haven't gotten them all in my first playthrough.

also, Susano is my least favorite character in the game.

  • You missed a bead/treasure in the Torii and loads of animals in Kamiki (oh right, no feed) ;) The most useful technique for the digging field is, of course, to just blot her black. That one should be familiar, since it's the easiest way to get 'perfect defense' Fangs later in the game:/

I disagree about the name, there's a few noble characters later that do recognize you ;)

  • @shinrenx I will miss things. Don't worry about pointing every one out. If I miss it, I'll go back to it later. Don't worry, I know what I'm doing.

  • This game hurts my eyes x.x

  • 10:38 its not that he would, as the game shows that he is plenty strong on his own as well without your help. but it only that he's a coward. thats all.

  • @CloudHiro I have some doubt in his skill, considering he can't even hit a stationary dummy without my help.

  • @NakaTeleeli hay, cowardice can make it difficult to hold a sword straight. and besides, knowing the storyline, he could have been holding back to avoid removing the bolder after all, coupled with his lazyness

  • @CloudHiro I'll admit he's got some skill, but between his cowardice and lack of faith in his own skill, I think you're *really* giving him too much credit if you think he chose not to remove the boulder of his own will.

  • @NakaTeleeli I think CloudHiro's theory has some merit once you learn how the boulder got there in the first place.

  • 1:20 so you know, you can find out just what the neighbours think if you talk to them while he's on your back >:D

  • I find it stange you didn't know rice was a main ingredient in Sake. Cause it is, after all, rice wine. (D: Just saying. Not trying to sound rude!)

  • I have gone out and purchased this game to play myself thanks to your LP. Over 20 hours into it now, and the epic just keeps ramping up ^_^ I love it :D

  • Being an owner of this game on the Wii, I will also advocate that this game IS purely awesome - you made a wise purchase, definately! :D

I advise ANYONE to try this game themselves...it's beautifully made.

  • @Robikku up to 40 hours now ^^;

  • @Robikku I really want to get the Wii version. :]

I imagine it makes you feel like a professional painter because last I checked the way you paint on the Wii IS the way they paint (pose wise anyway)

  • 7:36 Vista, no matter how godly, still sucks. I should know; I'm stuck with it.

9:53 WAIT WAIT WAIT!!! Swords do not make boulders EVAPORATE! I call BS!

11:16 Wood Sprite booty. That is all.

    11:52 BOW CHIKA BOW WOW

I'm sorry if the way I comment is irritating, btw.

  • ... okay, just one small detail kindof confused me for a while- Shiranui was always Amaterasu from the start, right? I just got a little mixed up with all that :/

  • @raCteJ Shiranui has always been Amaterasu.

  • @NakaTeleeli Ah, thank you. I guess since Amaterasu, being a wolf, couldn't tell them her name (and may not have told them, either) that they just didn't know, then. Makes sense.

  • Fun stuff Naka. Sorry to hear people nit-picked at you so much in the first few videos. Hopefully things will get better.

  • A ladies rear? Scandalous!

That's it, it's decided. You've inspired me. I'm going to do a Let's Play of my own! I'll follow in your teachings, Naka!

Well, I decided that a few days ago. I was reminded of it by Issun's behavior.

  • sue-sah-no

    not suez-zah-noo.

    lol?

  • susanu or no seems like a worthless piece of shit, just because your the blood line of a hero or warrior doesn't make you great, you have to work for it and help people, not expect things to just fall in you lap because of your heritage, plus, why the hell does he have a wooden sword and not a real sword?you think that would cause doubt...

  • Is it me, or is Sakuya's backside exposed?

    Kinky...

  • Huh, I never noticed that her bottom showed in her dress. xD

Curse me and my interest in story...

  • That bottom is just Peachy.

  • Sake, I believe, is brewed just like or similar to beer.

    Looking it up... Loading...

Rice is the main ingredient, added with a japanese fungi called Koji, citric acid, and yeast.

The yeast, sealed up and doin anaerobic reaction creates the alchohol like any other drink. Wain a while, then there ya have it, Sake.

Hmmm nutty strong stuff... mmm cant drink cause im a minor;;;; guh

  • yea the typical romanization of the god of waves is Susano-o. the hyphen can be taken out but more or less it's that and yes Susano-o is the brother of Amaterasu washed from Izanagi's nose after his visit into Yami.... wait was that too much info for right now?

  • A correction to my previous statement Susanoo is the TEMPEST god not the wave god also I wanted to call the underworld Yomi. Yomi is the underworld and Yami is the unknown darkness... my bad. Also yes Sake is basically rice wine. It's polished (or basically cleaned a loooooooot) in a rice mill and then fermented so that it can be brewed into an alcoholic state

  • i bet ammy has multiple headaches
