I agree totally with this man. Really the Gracies are too much into sport fighting and their street moves aren"t even good. Grappling has its place but its different on the street. A lot of those ground fighting moves just won't cut it on the street. And there are a lot of street fighters who just know fighting. They don't think ground or stand up or long range or short range. etc. They only think about destruction of the other person. I grew up that way and its made me better at martial arts.

When I was training the program, most girls were not able to even reach my face with the ellbow. An ellbow is not more powerful. It makes more cuts, but KO are less likely.
Grabing an/both arm is what we were training, how realistic is that? Body, shoulder, hair, a combination off all and tearing to the ground is what happens.

People think Brazilian Juijitsu is the best martial art in the world, but there is a question that I would like to ask here. Can a brazilian juijitsu fight against multipal opponents in the street? My answer for that is no , because it is just based on sport only and is not designed to take on multipal opponents in the streets as like other martial arts. @sincityracer1 I still see no reason against competitions. There are four principles in wt and some mechanics like chi sao, that are unique and are the core of the system. All are very much applicable in a competition. I myself was never able to use chi sao in a fight. This was the reason i quit after 3 years. I think it is necessary to test the techniques you learn and wt community tries to avoid that. I do not belive in stories about Kernspecht. Besides one case is not enough.

To know if techniques work, you have to compete on ragular basis. Most important students, not trainer should do it

@CloudsBeyond Jon Blumming (student of Mas Oyama) sent his student Dik Vrij to accept Boztepe's open challenge. Not only did Boztepe not fight but he cried and begged them not to tell anyone and even told them it was show business to attract students. I highly respect your dedication and incredible achievement in your art.However, to so casually dismiss another art that you obviously have very little TRUE understanding of only serves to undignify your own art.Having been in a great deal of street fights I can say without pause that ground fighting (i.e. BJJ)is exceptionally effective.I cannot say the same about Wing Chun.Perhaps YOU PERSONALLY are a great fighter,but most practitioners cannot do what you do(with your wrestling background btw)

I agree totally with this man. Really the Gracies are too much into sport fighting and their street moves aren"t even good. Grappling has its place but its different on the street. A lot of those ground fighting moves just won't cut it on the street. And there are a lot of street fighters who just know fighting. They don't think ground or stand up or long range or short range. etc. They only think about destruction of the other person. I grew up that way and its made me better at martial arts.

Obviously what he wants to do in a fight is all the things MMA rules do not allow to be done.
If that is the way he fights then possibility for permanent damage to the opponent is very real similar to what a bullet would do to human appendages.
So why not shoot the opponent in the leg or the arm.
Mastering a gun takes much less time than learning to punch.

When I was training the program, most girls were not able to even reach my face with the ellbow. An ellbow is not more powerful. It makes more cuts, but KO are less likely.
Grabing an/both arm is what we were training, how realistic is that? Body, shoulder, hair, a combination off all and tearing to the ground is what happens.
Running? The main advertisment of WT is, that you do not have to be fit. Did anyone tested you in your exams if you could run for a while?

@sincityracer1 Firstly, you do not learn to fight several opponents in your fist program. Second, you were telling about 20kg stronger dangerous opponents, that is not usuall! I was talking about 70kg dunk, who I was holding down, which is usual, but you did not accept that.

Well, of course you have to be informed about the rules in your particular country. You have to know about the dangers of having a gun. This is what a good self-defence should focus on for a solid part.
It is difficult to train self defence because of such reasons: you have to take into acount the law, the area where you live, and criminal statistics and much more.

People think Brazilian Juijitsu is the best martial art in the world, but there is a question that I would like to ask here. Can a brazilian juijitsu fight against multipal opponents in the street? My answer for that is no , because it is just based on sport only and is not designed to take on multipal opponents in the streets as like other martial arts. So which means that Brazilian Juijitsu is just marketed to nieve people.

Police records in Germany show Emin was in lot of fights, a Turkish person there of course he got into confrontations. In the EWTO/IWTO there were few hundred thousand members (incl. top Karate, Kickboxing , Muay Thai, etc guys that crossed over incl. champions; special forces guys) some really good fighters & tough...

Every self defence system make a lot of assumption about the opponets on the street. If you want to test certein techiques, than you just have to set up appropriate rules. That can be done for WT, so that all wt techniques are included.

@sincityracer1 I was doing WT for 3 years, I know very well what it is. No wt fighter has experience in a "real fight", unless you get in one by chance. No wt fighter pratice on hard ground. No weight calsses, so what? WT has no technique that somehow compensate weight difference, no martial art does. And holding your opponent down until help arrives (like security) is actually a good strategy. In case of many opponents I would run, because wt has no technique for that either

Usually you fight some drunk 70kg guy. This is reallity, not some crasy life or death scenarios, you imagine. In dangerous areas you should never fight, there you could be injured with a knife. @sincityracer1 I still see no reason against competitions. There are four principles in wt and some mechanics like chi sao, that are unique and are the core of the system. All are very much applicable in a competition. I myself was never able to use chi sao in a fight. This was the reason i quit after 3 years. I think it is necessary to test the techniques you learn and wt community tries to avoid that. I do not belive in stories about Kernspecht. Besides one case is not enough.

@jx87zq Wt teach to fight with all things which are not allowed in a sportfight!I And if you got the 1.Tech.degee you must know how difficult it is to do WT with big gloves on! The higher levels in WT are able to fight against a sportfighter with rules!You can investigate the stories! GM Kernspecht do it against the bulgarian worldchamp wrestler and read the interview from Mustafa Cengiz about WT ! Since I do WT I am able to stop a wrestler attack! With my TKD I was not chance !

@sincityracer1 What techniques are not allowed? To use chi sao + the principles, you do not have to kick in the groin or eyes! Use small gloves.
High level WT fighter are able to compete: How do you know, since they never do? Kernspecht is a fried of the bulgarian wrestling coach. They did not fight, Kernspecht arranges a WT school there and they did a presentation.
To know if techniques work, you have to compete on ragular basis. Most important students, not trainer should do it

@sincityracer1 I read about Boztepe and Vrij in an interview with John Blumming. Blumming put this story in writing in a public forum for the world to see. If you knew anything about law (slander) you would know that Blumming could be taken to court by Boztepe if it wasn't true. But Boztepe does not attempt to take him to court. Why? because then many more people would know that this actually happened. That is why Boztepe is silent on the matter.

It s only a part of the "...I heard from a friend how Emin",,,,,,or "..somewhere I did read how Emin..." No , its time for facts ! Visit him with a cam ! Don`t be afraid , nothing will happen , because you are so sure that he only will start to crying or try to escape ! No risk for you,c`mon do it ! Whats the problem why you don`t give us this proof ?

@aldridge1 Blumming is a joke, a very turd-itional martial artist; he sent some of his guys to a Boztepe seminar (Blumming shat his pants at thought of challenging him himself!) for no real reason - Boztepe had said nothing directly about Blumming or the arts he does. Guys stormed in Emin seminar, he said ok I'll fight you one at a time, they declined and left the seminar. End of story. Blumming claimed his guys spat on him & Emin begged for mercy on his knees LOL! Blumming talks pure BS!!!!

@konerath Enough people saw what Dick Vrji really has done there ! He was very kind, no challenge and he left unnoticed though Emin said , that he will look after him :-) ! Yes, there was someone with panties full with shit , but it wasn`t Emin ! Only a promotor ? No ,my dear , I saw him in a real fight against several guys!Believe me , he is an other league and I saw a lot of almost mortal fights!

Five bad guys try to kill you , no referee,no rules,no classes of weight,no soft mat on the ground and it was uncanny ,I never saw so fast motions before! Not only William Cheung , also he fought againt a top-wrestler (Mustafa Cengiz-0lympic winner) and won !And now go to JOE BLUMING,visit EMIN but don`t forget a cam , gimme a proof how Emin escape instead of fight !

@konerath I would never talk bad about one of the Gracies !I was one of the first here in germany who did learn BJ from a brazilian instructor ! Its not loyality but I saw Emin in a fight ,no rules or a show performence,but a streetfight!Do you remember one of the first UFC events , how much trouble Gracie got with the streetfighter "KIKO" ? Believe me ore not , Emin is a damn good fighter ! Nevertheless ,my friend , I wish you a happy new year !

i think he just got rejected from mma, thats why he is so mad, plus he sucks, he likes to cuddle too much, dont ever underestimate any fighter, and he just did to alot, so as the old saying says, a dog that barks alot dont bite.

'it's just about money', yeah right, and your motivation is???.....he is a chicken, i remember the days in holland during a seminar and some well known MMA guys wanted to fight him, and he chickened out!! i was THERE. a seminar with the Dutch sifu from holland... I trained 3 years under emin & came to realise he is a fake heroe. he claims (700!!????)streetfights and won without a scratch. i was a bouncer and never ever you can come to 700 fights!! only when your crazy!! liar!

@MrCalathea for sure hed be killed by any decent mma fighter,he trains entirely the wrong skillset for a matchfight.He cannot wrestle at all,has no boxing,no groundwork.The grappling he shows on his vids would only work on a non grappler.Its a joke

I know, i trained under him, & he always bragged about how many fights he had. i was a bouncer at the time & if i had 700(as he told me while drunk) fights in two years that would be a lie ..... i mean real fights....
