  • this version has more energy than the original, anthony could never copy the vocals

  • I love 45 Grave.

    Now I also love RHCP.

  • We're goin' left on right n' I don't wanna see you again!

  • Badass! Haha.

  • makes me respect them a little more....they should've given up the ghost after BSSM...and become another great LA goth band....

  • Nice cover. I've listened to the 45 Grave Autopsy album too many times since the 80s & this is a killer homage to them. They did an excellent job.

  • no it was rock am 2004...think their performance @ hyde park was done shortly after this

  • SO MUCH ENERGY!!!!!

  • 2:10 LOL

  • Who's song was this? Before they covered it,

    Thanks . ^^

  • 45 grave

  • Cheers man.

  • Frusciante and Les Paul ????

You can´t see it too often....but seems like he can use it..right??? Sounds great!!

  • he uses it more than most think eg. readymade, fortune faded, higher ground iirc

  • @frufrukurtjim not on higher ground

  • @PaScal95xD def on higher ground...at least pre bssm higher ground

  • @frufrukurtjim

    he does not

watch higher ground on the Green Fest (?) in India 2007

  • @PaScal95xD the first time he was in rhcp before he left he played it with a les paul

  • I'm not a fan of these guys, but i remember them doing a show early on in their career and Don Bolles (the drummer for 45 Grave) was sound man and ... whatever, this is a well done cover of a great fucking punk rock song.

  • so on the floor of my room in reform school was RHCP's first album.. and we were also listening to 45 grave at the time.. most people don't realize that RHCP sprang from the california hardcore scene, this is just them paying homage to their peers. funk at the time was really unusual for an la band, hardcore like this was more common. i think it's really cool that they did this cover. dream syndicate, the germs, celebrity skin.. these bands are all connected to 45 grave.

  • yeah, and theres references to some of those bands in some chilis things, like for example in the californication video, the car that anthony drives the license plate says "GERMS" on it

  • Great 45 Grave cover

  • FUCK! I love this song!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • personally, i don't like it.

    BUT

just because you don't like it, doesnt mean it's shit, or not good. it's not my type of music, but im not letting that stop me from enjoying my favorite band.

    i'm drunk hahaha

  • why do people hate RHCP for doing a cover

    it reallly isnt bad

  • durgAUMurge do you realise how talented john frusciante is? And yet you so carelessly insult him? everyone makes mistakes and don't go insulting people who have such a huge amount of talent when you probably have zilch

  • ya durgaumurge close your eyes and open your mouth cuz you deserve a teabag . you flamer

  • to durgaumurge fuck you

  • like you could do a better job

  • A mainstream band covering an old goth classic. I want to know the story behind this.

  • read the book scar tissue youll know the story

  • they do what ever they want

  • Haha.. love it.. they did this at the City of Manchester Stadium a few years back, the week b4 the Hyde Park gig think. Unfortunatey we were in the seats, we went mental and cleared three rows of people infront!! Landed head first between the seats.. Ooops.. apologies to all that were in our way! Awesome cover!! lol

  • sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • gotta love early 80's punk.

  • i just heard the original and this is like million-times better

  • yea it is man, i also listened to its original version, and this one is waaaay better

  • Thank you for posting this. I always loved their cover on the Hyde Park CD and it's awesome to actually see them preform it.

  • i remember they played this in Hyde Park a few years back, we went fuckin mental!!

  • ok this is amazeing

  • great 45 grave cover!

  • 0:53

    - not often you see John like that ! awesome shit !

  • hardcore punk oh yeah

  • its old school punk u moron

Screamo!?!? Lawl, dont make me laugh

  • GREAT COVER :D

  • omfg...that doesn't sound like RHCP....

  • pussy.

  • .....

  • EPIC!

  • Woah Fucking crazy!!!

  • 2:46 anthony's aura!! O_o?

  • sry for the 45 Grave-fans but this cover has 1000times more energy than the original!

  • damn! such an awesome cover!

IN MY OPINION better than the original!

  • Doing 45 Grave justice and that much more! Fucking killer cover!

  • Look at the girl at 1:24. She's saying to herself : "AK is so cute and he's a rebel ! I want a baby !"

  • hahhahhaxD

  • lol ^^

  • Their acoustic version is delightful too.

  • fuck yea

  • so fucking intense i think i just shat myself

  • I guarantee that only about 1% of the people there that night had any idea wtf this song was.

  • Exactly. I can imagine all the hippy marks jaws dropping going "What the fuck is this"?

  • AMAZING!!! Original was good but I prefer this. Each to their own \m/

  • Fuckin' A! Never heard this one before. The RHCPs must have gone to and loved many a 45 Grave show. Thought they did a good version, tho i much prefer the original. Anthony ain't Dinah, and John ain't Paul Cutler. But damn they really did the song justice, which is a credit to the Red Hots. Evil lives!

  • dude, this is flipping awesome!

  • I never heard of this song before. How old is it??

  • It's a 45 Grave cover, it's only recorded on Live in Hyde Park;)

  • Old school RHCP

  • AGUANTE LA PANCHE

  • Damn ! Those kids didn't know what hit 'em !!!

  • lol haha dont speak about shit you know nothing of. thankyou.

  • i loved watching this... i used to play 45 grave songs as a teen guitar player in the early 80's... paul cutler was the reason i liked 45 grave although occasionally dinah cancer would belt out a scream that would rival yoko ono. it was all in good fun.

didn't hurt to have rob ritter on bass and don bolles on drums.

  • haha. i love anthony's screams

  • Haha i love johns guitar faces

  • Love it!

  • This is a really cool performance...bags of energy, bags of attitude. It's a shame the Chilis haven't had much of either on their records since the early 90's...they've continued to write good songs for the most part, but in the studio, the fire has been slowly going out. 'Don't Stop', for example, is a decent enough song, but sounds so mild, so gutless compared to, say, 'Higher Ground'. They definitely need to work harder to translate their live energy onto their records.

  • Do you not mean 'Can't Stop'

  • Yep, my mistake.

  • RHCP were good only up to 'get up and jump'///the ABORIGINAL version of this is much better and darker and abstract...and much better where it counts. THIS IS A PARODY

  • Even though the original of this song SUCKS!

  • Huh? This version is pretty much exactly the same as 45 Grave's. Albeit with Keidis's more consistent vocals.

  • this speed and power and love of playing music is why I fell in love with this band nearly 20 years ago

  • this is so cool. could it get much more intense? you would think the mosh pit for a song like this would make everyone go insane!!! they are all just standing there...

  • you are SO right....doesn't matter. with a band like RHCP, the fans are just as shallow. they'll never get IT...it's about the party...not the grave which 'skares' them!

  • I remember seeing them play this in Manchester and I was this grubby little kid at the front wearing a TSOL t-shirt dancing my ass off, surrounded by a bunch of really confused looking indie kids.

Best song they played by far;)

  • Chad is fucking loveing this!

    x

  • you suck, they're great

  • you suck, they're great

  • beautiful, especially frusciante

  • What is this?

  • .45 Grave

  • deathrock? .45 Grave was punk dude... the Chili's have had a firm and solid appreciation for punk and the Chili's were apart of the early 80s punk scene in LA. Hell, Flea was in Fear for a bit. You don't have to like it, I don't really care what you like, you're just looking for a reaction. Besides, you should at least appreciate that they covered it, most people, even most punk and metal bands don't know who .45 Grave is... whatever, I'm done now.

  • Hell Yeah! Shut His Ass Down!

  • awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome

  • fuck you Orchid, you don't know shit about the chili peppers. Stick to your deathrock bullshit.

  • wow wow wow, why you get mad? I love the Peppers too, but everybody have an opinion about music, and that is good.

  • he dosnt scream as good as miss cancer, but its still a cool cover of a very good song

  • AK surely did "scream" (or bark lol) way better than you miss cancer at 80's and early 90's maybe not now but c'mon he's already 41 in this show

  • with a name like miss cancer, you have to scream like a banshee... a sexy, though a bit morbid, banshee... mmm.

  • this music is more from their original roots, the punk/surfer fast rap from AK....very cool, although I love all of their music.....great cover.

  • John looks better with his hair shorter, like in this vid.

  • agreed

  • wouldnt it be nice if they played more pieces like this on concerts and cd's :) but i still love them!

  • uh yeah, john with a gibson les paul...! YEAH!!! this fuckin rocks!!! great, incredible, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS!!!

  • I just Luv that songggg !!! I noteced that ppl like John ALOOT ! i mean thats ok i like 'em too, but wats wrong with Anthony?! i think He's the Hottest dude in the band !

  • nahhh this was awsome.

  • I like johns strat more

  • A LO GRANDEEE!!!

  • Nice song

  • pure energy

  • this is twice as good as 45 grave

  • Chad is a great drummer, but he can't pull off Don Bolles' weird ass "I learned to play the drums by accident" style, which is what made the original song so fucking awesome. So no, this is not twice as good as the original, fuck face.

  • umm well i have heard 45 graves and yes i like the hyde park version better so until u descide what i like "fuck face" shut your mouth

  • u people are very strange. why does evrybody get so violent on youtube?
