We adopted her from a local shelter so we aren't positive on her origins. She's definitely part Siamese since she has huge blue eyes, trouble retracting her claws, (She frequently gets stuck to our couch after napping.) and goes completely crazy over nothing at all.
My cat does the same thing when it is intently interested in something and i wiggle it.... It's not hurting, it thinks that rug (which might be a new addition and thus strange) is making a crazy noise and might attack.....
Wahnsinn die Katze reagiert teilweise schon auf die Töne bevor sie erscheinen, müsst mal genau hin gucken/hören. Nehmen die signale eher bzw schneller auf als wir Menschen?
Omfg if it was really SO BAD for it's ears it would have ran away in discomfort. It was obviously curious. -_- Goodness gracious I hate people who think everything is abuse. It's obviously in a nice house and it looks perfectly healthy. You overly sensitive buffoons.
I don't know if that's actually a xylophone. A xylophone is a wooden istrument that has a real hollow sound to it if you strike it with hard mallets. I should know, I'm a percussionist.
@percussionist624 your talking about a proper xylophone, a childs xylophone sounds like that, cause its more pleasant to the toddler (apparently, how they figure that out is beyond me)
Cats can hear a lot better compared to humans. So using a xylophone next to them might be like using a tower bell next to a person. Hence why the cat is jumping around when it hears the sound.
The cat wasn't scared .Her ears werent back and she was'nt hissing or arching her back.If she got used to a baby crying all night she'll get used to the xylophone

Believe me, I'm not usually the one one to screaming "animal abuse," but in this case I think it was unnecessary to keep startling the ca over and over again. If it were just once or twice, maybe it would be more funny.
the cat isnt clawing everyone to bits trying to get out of the romm you know, she just looks curious, and its a new sound she's getting used to. what are you gonna do, keep the xylophone away from her forever?
Me, for example, wouldn t use the word abuse, is too big word, but i notice the difference between video of a cat enjoying and video if a cat being bothered. I can t enjoy this ones.
Sorry, but i m going to defend every animal who can't defend itself. I pay the price to be called names, is cheap.
That's funny! Hmm...maybe she would prefer the low, smooth sounds of a marimba? :)

probably the sound vibrations traveling through the ground made her think it was the floor/rug. I wouldn't be surprised if a cat can sense them.
