  • You can also see my wooden dummy 7 days work cost around 60$

    Nice video ;-)

  • master at work..

  • Nice smooth music, and I feel so good watching this thanks alot for sharing it.

  • old scool!!! ;o) nice

  • is Ip Man (unintentially) showing here that there is more to the WC dummy form than has been handed down to the West? His flow and technique are superb with some techniques not in WSL's form (modified in consultation with IM - WSL had his reasons for modifying the form says William Cheung). A sense of big history in watching such vids (and that's all) but shame IM and WSL had no say in it (the Internet and its potential to appropriate intellectual property rights was not around in their day).

  • EPIC! RIP Ip Man

  • EPIC! RIP Ip Man

  • yip man lost his money when his envious and aggrieved neighbours burnt his estate....why? they felt anger at his wealth which came from his grandfather having been an opium smuggler..ive practiced wing chun for 18 years, 3rd gen yip man student. sadly this is documented true.

  • @DanieleToscano can't choose your family.

  • That is both amazing, and really sad. The great grand masters power and flow is truely exceptional, even if he didn't have advanced cancer. But him having to stop and rest (look at the breaks in recording) is utterly humbling and he still carried on after. Amazing man and an amazing style.

  • nisesamowite

  • This where leaders of the new school got their moves from and used them in their videos hahaha :)

  • It is amazing how perfect his positioning is. Granted he is taking his time but check out how precise his position is with every tool. Awesome stuff...

  • 5 ppl are justin bieber students

  • @seconds2death

He didnt actually do it, but he most certainly could!

  • the master of all master's man...that's y im training in the art of wing chun myself.

  • Too much Legendary-ness and Epic-ness in this video.

    *Faints*

  • did he really beat up 10 black belts at once?? please somebody tell me

  • @seconds2death Probally, but not at the same time.

  • @seconds2death u know movies go over the top just to make it more exciting

  • @seconds2death he may have I mean the film was more action oriented then it needed to be but who knows.

  • @seconds2death yes he did in the movie that really happen wen japs wanted to prove that karate was better and ip man comes and puts them in their place

  • @seconds2death

you can also see my wooden dummy 7 day's work cost around 60 $;-)

  • @seconds2death it's theoretically possible to handle that number of opponents with (sifu standard) mastery of the three open hand forms. Did it ever happen? perhaps only the Wing Chun clan knows. I can visualise how it would happen.

  • @seconds2death

No. It never happened. The movie is loosely based on incidents from Ip Man's life. Apparently the Japanese did ask him (a few times) to train their forces, but he declined. The book 'Ip Man, Portrait of a Kung Fu Master' by his (second) son Ip Ching is very brief, but might be one of the best sources for accurate information.

  • @seconds2death yes he did

  • @seconds2death At the age of 19 japanese invaded china,so that would be impressive if he fought ten men

  • @seconds2death No ahah that is just for the movies purposes nothing in the first movie actually happened besides having a son. The rest is scriptwriting.

  • @seconds2death The movie was a true story, and that would be to cool to just make like that.

  • ANYONE who DISLIKES THIS was a JUSTIN BIEBER LOVER and does'nt know martial arts. All they know was a JUSTIN BIEBER TECNIQUES!

  • Yip Man didn't actually insist on have the footage taken. His students insisted he do it so the knowlegde wouldn't be lost. Every other time anyone had tried or requested he do this, he refused. He only accept to do all the forms on video because he was about to die from cancer.

  • @MyJibJib They never thought of it intil Lee asked him for it.

  • @tonyvalente Possibly, but Yip Man refused Bruce Lee and after he offered to buy him a house if Yip Man showed him the Wooden Dummy form, Yip Man refused to speak to Lee

  • @MyJibJib

Not so according to Ip Chun. See "116 Wing Tsun Dummy Techniques", pg. 12.

According to Chun, it was Ip Man who decided to do it because of:

    A. Arguments over the correct form

    B. Intentional changes being taught as Ip Man WC

    C. Teachers who never learned the whole set

    D. So students can identify con-men who lie about teaching Ip Man WC

  • @choyadavis Well I haven't read that, but my Sifu was taught by Ip Chun, Wan Kam Leung, Jim Fung and others... knows and has trained with Ip Ching and has been doing Wing Chun for over forty years. He's a wealth of knowledge on the subject. Since I haven't read it I can't judge the text, but all you've said is Ip Man decided to do it because of those reasons. That doesn't change anything that I said, just that those are some of the reasons he decided to do it. ............

  • @choyadavis He obviously must have decided at some point to do it, otherwise he wouldn't have done it. Doesn't mean it was his idea or that his students didn't insist he do it.

  • wing chun is like using the opponents strength right? correct me if im wrong i think theres alot more things but thats one reason...i hope?

  • There is much confusion as to the origins of Wing Chun. The truth is that Yip Man is a stranded alien who lived out his days on earth and Wing Chun is a highly evolved strain of alien kung fu.

  • This was like a week before he died of cancer. Pretty incredible.

  • as a wing tsun practitioner, i'm moved by seeing the GGM Yip Man in action.RIP Grandmaster.

  • He is so smooth he makes it look so easy....I am proud to train under Ip Man's lineage in Hawaii.

  • @katz808

Dude, check out user shaunic02 channel. It will make you laugh or cry. MAybe both.

  • His technic is perfect.anyone who knows self defence can see.You couldnt touch this man.beautiful style ,grace,Thank u for posting.5 star EXCELLENT.

  • Ip Man Wing Chun Forever! Are there any Dojos in Colorado Springs, Colorado? I cant find any

  • Cool! I love it!

  • whats with the music :P (very psychedelic)

  • @tonyvalente well let me chain punch you and then well see what u think after word. (ps. all the defenses can be used offensively, good D= good A)

  • Wow, this is only one the greatest martial artist who ever lived..mentor to Bruce lee who is widely disputed as "The" greatest Martial artist who ever lived..Show som damn respect..People who trash wing chun just dont understand the physics of it and what it can teach you

  • behold the legend who created bruce lee

  • This is the only person i care to watch to correct my mistakes... so thanks very much .. .and to all the dogs eating scraps that fall from the Wing Chun table... well that's all you get, scraps. You should just say thank you and find another table to eat under. Have some respect or stay outside with the other dogs. RIP Yip Man.

  • What I would give to see his street fights in Hong Kong!

  • like this!

  • 一个病痛缠身的老人·为了不让国术失传抱病留下珍贵影像·几次无法下去·却咬牙坚持·好感动!!!

  • You can see Ip chings shadow on the wall to the right :D

  • Respond to this video... samuel kwok is ip chun's representer. Ip chun the son of Ip man

  • is he overrated because of the recent movies?

  • @carlsontsang you have no rating fucker. this is the grandmaster. you've never done shit in your life but take up space.

  • @tonyvalente, man if I ever meet you I'm buying the drinks.

A witty riposte with all the speed and destruction of wing chun.

    Classic haha

  • @tonyvalente , man if I ever meet you I'm buying the drinks.

A witty riposte with all the speed and destruction of wing chun.

    Classic haha

BTW Yip Chun has no added moves to this form...a few less in places but only a few, on the fourth section after the double jut only 2 kow sau instead of 4 are used before placing hands on the arms before the jik jern.

  • @tonyvalente no gran maestro solo master

  • @tonyvalente he is only asking his not stating that he is overrated, maybe he doesnt know Sigungs state, no need to get angry at a person asking something.

  • @MrSinantra I give no respect to haters that have never done nothing. The new school brats talk way to much trash and need a beating. Saying Yipman is over rated is like saying Sinatra needs to go on America idol.

  • @tonyvalente no i agree with you absolutely but he may not mean it in the way you might see it brother. Thats why we need to be patient and just explain to those who dont know thats the way of Wing Chun Lifestyle not to be rash and hurt people for no reason to help and protect others. He probably is just asking because he thought he would see a young Ip Man here too. But us Wing Chun brethern know that this is not the case. We know of his greatness in Wing Chun.

  • @tonyvalente He didn't say that, and I think it's a good question, and Ip man is my Si Tai Gung. Most of what was in that movie never happened, and many of the legends about his life may very well be nonsense. I'm sure he was a great teacher, but that doesn't mean he was some god of the martial arts world.

  • @tonyvalente this is for carlsontsang, i'm a practitioner of win chun and both ip man 1 and2 are some one of my favorite movies. its obvious ur just asking a question not trying to be disrespectful. the truth is that the movies are just movies. although ip man did deny training the japanese he never had a fight with a general (although it is reported that he did fight a policeman) or lost all his money. in fact he was very wealthy. Ip man eventually became a police officer in foshan.

  • Yeah the Japanese shit is just bullshit. He fled to Hong Kong because of the Chinese Communist Party, who now have control of Hong Kong where the movie was made so they had to change the story to say that the Japs were the baddies not the Chinese Government. He didn't eventually become a police officer, he WAS a police officer and the communist Party were going around killing everyone who opposed them. So so he fled to Hong Kong. Not to mention Ip Chun and Ip Ching have different mothers

  • @cartuner22 hey man, Yip Man did lose all his money. The Japanese confiscated his house... that was during World War 2. When he went to Hong Kong, he was forced to teach to make ends meet. He never ever recovered the amount of wealth he used to have.

  • because of the conflict of interest he was forced to leave for hong kong where he opened his school. As for his fighting ability, it is obvious that he is masterful, that can not be denied, but was he better than all the other styles, it is impossible to know. Although, i would not disrespect other styles which are very devastating. Wing chun is designed for close range combat and designed to use power positions and techniques so that strength, although helpful, is not needed.

  • to over estimate oneself and underestimate your opponent is failure.

  • @MrSinantra finally someone who talks sense, and who's willing to stand up for others, instead of blindly jumping at someone's throat. true martial conduct. my respects to u, bro.

  • @lucidmist Thank you very much my brother, and for those who say Grandmaster Cheungs students have no respect and such... I am one of his students. There is no need for us to get angry with others or each other seeing as we are Wing Chun Bretheren, sometimes others hate of our martial art i get it alot, if we react calm and fairly then people will want to listen more true.

    Thank you for your comment.

  • @MrSinantra exactly! mutual respect goes a long way, not only in martial arts, but in all areas of life!

  • @lucidmist its great to see that not everyone hates each Wing chun, if anything i have only to gain from other wing chun or Ving Tsun, we all have great knowledge behind it all, its just that Sigung Ip Man taught it differently to each of the students based on there attributes.

    Thank you again

  • @MrSinantra hey bro, Wing Chun is a great art! like many other arts, it has its own flavour of effectiveness. i honestly believe Bruce Lee got his speed, accuracy and sensitivity from WC! for any practitioner of any art, it's really up to the student to realize his/her potential in it, and find the personal "key" to make it effective for himself/herself. eg. a heavier fighter will use it differently from a lighter, speedier fighter. i believe that is what Sigung understood - the personal "key".

  • @lucidmist I completely agree, with you one hundred percent, however i do believe personally i might have found my key in Wing Chun. I love Wing Chun completely its so beautiful and effective. Whose linage are you under.

  • @MrSinantra hey man, i'm not a wing chun guy, i do taiji. :)

  • @lucidmist ohh okaie, sorry i just assumed you would be, cause ussually the guys talking here are of a wing chun background doesnt matter anyway were all one peoples of Martial Arts united by our knowledge. I'm guessing that your not talking about Tai Chi right ?.

If its not Tai Chi, then could you please give me an idea of what the martial art is about, where it comes from, how its used, where its effective and such maybe a small description... I love to learn about new martial arts. thanks.

  • @tonyvalente Excuse me but Yip Man himself never claimed to be Grandmaster of Wing Chun. He had seniors who never left China. I guess you don't know there are Wing Chun lineages that have nothing to do with Yip Man? There is even a Wing Chun lineage with no forms. You can't say that it's not real Wing Chun since it was created by Yip Man's teacher's Sifu Leung Jan. Study before you make knowledgeable comments

  • @tonyvalente roflroflroflrofl!!

  • @carlsontsang When Master Yip filmed this footage, he was very old and sick, yet he still insisted to record these techniques so people can learn from it after his passing. And 16 days after the filming finished, he passed away. (I just learned this from a newspaper)

By the way, I'm NOT a Wing Chun practitioner, though I like the concepts of JKD.

  • @macchxero JKD is the same as wing chun just with more emphasis on backhands (cause bruce liked them lol) and some other things Bruce Lee thought was faster. he also tried to get rid of some of the annoying strictness of the old martial ways (because hes awesome :) ) but really their the same. (ps. wing chun is a mixture of crain, snake, and tai chi)

  • @carlsontsang look you need to take in to account the man is old and has cancer and dies about two days after this, the doctor examining him said he should'nt even be standing up, so actually being able to perform this would be amazing its self but if you pay attention to his movement closely and certain techniques you will find that he is showing alot of strength from the look of the reaction of the dummy, but one would think what you do due to him being ill with cancer and such.

  • @carlsontsang No he's not over rated. All films throw in artistic flare, exaggeration etc but the man is a legend & more than likely one of the most skilled martial artists the world has seen.

@Tonyvalente - He was only asking ...calm down

  • @carlsontsang He is highly rated because he was a legend, an undefeated master of wing chun kung fu who taught also legendary masters of kung fu, e.g. Bruce Lee.

  • that was inspiring! thx for uploading this... RIP IP MAN THE LEGEND

  • Ip Man was a hip man; just listen to his taste in music as it plays when he trains! ;-p

Anyway, thanks for posting the video. (I just watched Ip Man 1 and 2.)

  • @burgerbird67 hell no

  • he is old. he didn't do it traditional to the T. you can't hate on him he's old. my father got his masters from the ip man association and the form is better seen writen down. most respect to our Grand Master Man

  • hi is Greath

  • It's amazing to see his technique and structure so sound even though he was so close to death. That can only come from decades of training and mastery. There have been a lot of stupid comments posted about Yip Man and Wing Chun, but I really don't give a shit. He was the true grandmaster of Wing Chun. Bruce Lee, Wong Shun Leung, Moy Yat, Hawkins Cheung, and many more all came directly from this man. That's really all anybody needs to know.

  • This is what I called Ip Man Wooden Dummy training, while the rest only CLAIM they follow Ip Man's style but added too many things :)

  • @Daquan70 I agree. they all wanted gimmicks to pretend there better.

  • No one outside of China would know anything about Yipman if it wasn't for Bruce Lee. Lee was the one true master of the fighting arts. Nothing against Yip...But Yip didn't like you if you weren't Chinese. Bruce was the first one who openly taught anyone. Still to this day man of Yip's students try to put down Bruce and his skill....but they all know that No one could beat Lee once he developed Jeet Kune Do. JKD was the ultimate martial art for it's time.

  • @burgerbird67 I agree with you up untill the part of JKD. Wing Chun made Bruce a great fighter not JKD

  • @coupwolf Wingchun got him into the arts...his ability to adapt and his willingness to learn from everyone is what made him great. JKD was far ahead of any Martial art during that time...

  • @burgerbird67 granted without Bruce Lee then Wing Chun would perhaps not be as well known as it is today but JKD is wing chun..all it's principles are the same.

Bruce would beat Wong Shun Leung??...I don't think so and he'd stand less of a chance if Master Leung had taken as many steroids.

  • @DanieleToscano the roids lee took dont work worth a shit. you can get over the counter. And no wing chun guy was gonna beat Lee after training with the big dogs in LA.Hong Kong is never been known for producing fighters, only knock off gucci bags.

  • Please see

    youtube.com/watch?v=ash3CY-9Ovo

  • this just shows his love for his art.

  • Great to see that these vids still exist.

  • i wonder what is this wooden dummy for..? sharpen techniques?

  • Grand Master IP MAN, Your Are The Best, Your Are the number one

your are the Soul of Wing Chun !!!!

  • great video thanks for posting

  • holy fucckk!! dis is soo amazing!! to c the man himself doing the forms..i worship the ground he walks on and to c the exact same forms that i do, here in this video is so fkin inspiring...its midnight by me now..but hell...im gonna go train now..laterz

  • If only he didnt smoke that opium thing

  • @OMGWTFShizznat slap your mom for doing a terrible job of rasing you .

  • @tonyvalente Your an idiot I love Yip man hs the soul reason why im learning Wing Chun, just saying he might have lived longer if he didnt smoke opium

  • @OMGWTFShizznat Im glad you were in hong kong in the 50's to know yipman personal business. your mom smoked when she was knocked up, thats why your so fucked up.

  • @tonyvalente He smoked it because he got ddicted to it. How about you know your facts afro man

  • @OMGWTFShizznat you need to smoke then , because you have no students, no skill and wont live half as long as YIPMAN

  • @tonyvalente Again I love this dude and he himself started Wing Chun, but im just saying u queer, smoking caused himself lung cancer

  • @OMGWTFShizznat You don't need to smoke opium, cigarettes, drugs to get lung cancer. Are you that naive?

  • @cwmak70 I know im just saying that caused his death

  • say what you want, the notion of martial arts in it's pure form(like no macho-ism, nothing to prove or 'hero' mentality, consider this. How much does that dummy weigh? A solid wooden beam, low, therefore low center of gravity. An 80-plus year old man gives it a series of palm(not clenched fist) hits, and the whole thing shakes and weaves slightly. I'm in my 30s, i run up and down hills and through the jungle on a regular basis. I'm not going up against him and standing.

  • if people rated this video down, they sucks. Master Yip Man rock!

  • @Codename155025 true!

  • Awesome 5 Stars *****

  • Hahaha, I'm talking to your parole officer Valente.

  • @WingChunLover2 i hope your wooden dummy hits you back!

  • @tonyvalente Hahaha. Yeah, it has a better chance of hitting me.

  • grandmaster teaching his art to some gay ass track?? what happened to silent moon???

  • @nemesisbreakz go watch twilight with a box of popcorn up your ass loser.

  • The Grandmaster of grandmasters

  • Yo for all people's on here who fell in love with that background music...I had to get it. Its off of Molemen's PNS album and the song is "The One is Missing". Cop that album if you like serene but in depth sounds...Avid supporter, keep it movin'.

  • R.I.P. GM Ip Man...Hey by the way, what's the name of this track? Very good choice, and very emotional video. Inspiration to true martial artists everywhere. Thank you.

  • Good,but not clear

  • wow. i wonder if he could live to 100 if he din have cancer

  • the japanese feel jelous from china :))

  • yip man moves like a fukkin robot with althritus lol

  • thank you very much for that!

  • exelente exelente

  • @MuayThaiViking sure mr i just went to wkipiedia =3 theres a difference when someone is studying martial arts .. and it is not always used for combat lame brain

  • @clipsahoii I just just looked it up and it says people like you are terrible at all sports so fake karate{like united studios of selfdefense} hire people to pretend to be masters. so a guy who is scared to fight, will always say its not for fighting. you fucking coward.

  • @tonyvalente XD! ROFLMAO obvious troll is obvious u know nothing of martial arts if u think that... tell me, what form of martial arts do you use to slam such dum ass thoughts into the key board LOl umad? XD

  • You are all so ignorant! All you do, is to focus on who beats who... There is no point, discussing who's students were better. Bruce Lee did not teach Wing Chun, so why would his students fight against any of Yip Man's Wing Chun students, including him self? Something tells me that you guys don't know very much about martial arts, other than what you see at MMA. You would NEVER fight against the students who are alined with your sifu!

  • @kenji7766 why dont you start a ballroom dancing class or sewing. martial arts is about combat.

  • @tonyvalente wow your are a profound idiot if u think martial arts is about combat....something tells me you never study any form of martial arts if u think that

  • @clipsahoii tai chi is not a martial art, it exercise. so some 8oyr old guy in the park can fight? does a sprinter jog to pepare for a race? stick to dancing you lost bum.

  • @tonyvalente since when did i say anything about tai chi u trolling so much u dont know who said what.. get out thata basment and gets some air =3 umad?

  • Tai chi is used as exercise but it is a martial art. It is for fighting. It can be and has been used in competition. The forms have many applications in combat. It has many very dangerous strikes. It has many effective deflections. It strengthens internal organs and promotes good health and long life too.

  • @tonyvalente You're horrible.

  • @monkeyx3000 Tai Chi is a Martial Art, an Exercise, A way of life. Tai Chi is a very effective Martial Art. It teaches you the proper ways of applying energy when and when not to use it, so that you maximize every hit, with minimal energy. But you wouldn't no better because ignorance is the Martial Artist blindfold.

  • @monkeyx3000 Tai Chi is a very effective Martial Arts. It teaches you the right application of muscle use and energy making every hit maximized with minimal effort. And Wing Chun is the same. I am a 4 year Wing Chun practitioner and I had the same mentality until I was hit in the solar plexus from less than a half inch away and flew across the room. If your going to dis something at least know what your talking about. Ignorance is a martial artist blindfold

  • @monkeyx3000 cursing people's parents are wrong too

  • @jasonxx218 are you sure it was me?

  • @monkeyx3000 Wing Chun does not use strength.

  • @Chewyfied nope

  • @clipsahoii do you even know what the word ''martial'' means? mix it with ''art''.. put 2 and 2 together... get back when your brain starts working

martial arts exists because it was needed in ancient times for warfare and self defense. doesnt matter if its western styles from ancient greece, or asian styles like kung fu. its made for combat, end of story

  • @tonyvalente All i got to say to you, is that the one who speaks does not know, the one who knows does not speak...

  • RIP..

  • lee meaning bruce lee? explain to me how Lee's students can beat ip man's students. technically (if you're taking about bruce lee) lee was taught by lee, meaning lee is a student of ip himself. And a sifu (master) can obviously beat his students. ip's students (including lee) can beat lee's students. Get the logic?

  • Man... This what you call a real GRAND MASTER! A man who were suppose put his last strength in bed waiting for death, but this GUY JUST KILLS IT!

    Very inspiring!

  • Beat him very easy???? Are u stupid or what??? He is lee sifu, how lee student can beat him easy??? Delete this idiot please

  • @superneochild1 If you can READ! I said LEE"S students would beat yipmans students. Lewis, stone, inosanto, just to name a few would win easy. Glover years ago over powered them tike little kids.

  • @tonyvalente I don't think so. Yip's students include Duncan Leung, WSL, William Cheung, Hawkins Cheung and at their peak those guys could not be beat. Sure, maybe some of the lesser known, newer students would probably get mopped but not the masters that we know of today.

  • @tonyvalente Thats your opinion, but i think William Cheung, Wong Shun Leung and Bruce Lee would all beat Lee's students pretty easy. That's My opinion

  • @superneochild1 lol ur a retard.

  • Sorry, but Ving Tsun is not JKD's foundation. JKD shares the principles of Ving Tsun, but two entirely separate art.

  • @KurosakiIchigo however you want to spell it, Lee"s student would beat yipmans very easy.

  • @straightcash

your sifu is a direct student of yip man?

well, how old is your sifu?

  • if anybody out there studies wing chun real wc they know how much of a jewel this is we never share our secrets my sifu is a direct student of yip man and wing chun guys are assholes sorry to who might be offended yip was one duncan is one and so am I its the nature of the art... its a dark system .

  • @StraightCashTV You're an idiot.

  • @StraightCashTV

I'm not sure i agree with you i mean i study under Grandmaster William Cheung, and he teaches it very openly to any who wish to learn, also Grandmaster Wong Shun Leung's student is around the corner from our academy and they teach to everyone as well. If they didnt teach there secrets then how can the style last dude. Maybe i dont understand what your saying completely. My opinion anyway.

  • poor yip. He's was so tired. Very Thankful. Effort to show us his ART. Much respect.

    PEACE

  • ozzie- k, that makes sence, though ive rarely heard of a master, especialy wc, that gives out all info, or mas produces extremely accurate videos... ive met one though, and its truly and experience.

wish i could have met the man, wich would be a grand experience regardless. =)
