  • How the fuck did Kobe shrink an inch? Hes 6'6 now

  • They get another 5 in just one decade

  • Loth Angeleth Lakerth. haha nah i like this guy (when hes paired with good music)

  • The person introducing the Lakers was VERY lackluster in my opinion. Also the fans to a certain degree. In fact, if you didn't hear the team seeding numbers, it'd be hard to tell this is the playoffs, given the atmosphere. The intro is about as lackluster as the 1992 Blazers home intros in the NBA finals. The intro show/music isn't that exciting. And where's the mascot?? And at least get a native LA/West Coast person to give the intros- he sounds like he's from the northern Midwest.

  • @WindyCityNative1 Lakers don't need all that crap. And it's 240p quality. I'm sure it would sound better in 1080p

  • what a lame intro for the lakers

  • i like how bob costos says "scotti pippen looking for his first outside Michael Jordan's Shadow"

  • I love how when Pippen Says "give me the Fu**** ball" Fox walks right by and blocks out the f word from the audience.

  • This was when Portland is a very good team and i like them back then (even the current Blazers team now)

  • what is the song in the background during the blazers intro?

  • @TexasBALLA94 The song is "Love Like This" by Faith Evans

  • @StraitMoney24 Thank you!

  • Sabonis = best euro player of all time. Period.

  • im a huge laker fan ans phil jackson fan but i just wonder what if pip won 2 with out jordan would people be saying he the best ever

  • Sabonis!!

  • You edited the out "Roundball Rock"? You fail!

  • awesome intro by costas

abc sucks they always have stupid intros with stupid singers like PCD

  • I forgot that Fisher didn't start back then...maybe he did before they got Harper, and after he retired.

Still can't believe that comeback in G7...

  • 0:30 "But history's account of his [Shaq's] career will depend in large part on Championships won..." ten years later he has 4. how's that sound Bob?

  • The end of the Bob Costas era. Shame really. Probably the greatest commentator to call the NBA.

  • @rhcpguitarar I'd say Marv Albert was a pretty good replacement.

  • @jlb02034 Marv Albert is good, but not anywhere near as good the Cos.

  • "Celebrating 40 years in LA"

Damn its 50 now, has it really been that long?

  • @prodiggy13 they used to be in the twin cities

  • I'm assuming you all are lakers fans? -.-

  • I still like the Baba Oriely intro much better. I mean the lakers are good, but the baba oriely intro keeps it humble and less "pompus ass".

  • so i wonder if the afro is what made kobe 6'7? or is he really 6'7 but they say he is 6'6 now to compare him to Jordan? i wonder..

  • cool brah

  • choke!

  • What a beautiful franshise team and the best in the nba history but whatever happened to the fans when everyone in staples center used to where all gold? now everything looks different but as long as we sheering for the lakers it's all good!

    GO LAKERS!

  • It doesn't matter, LAKERS ARE STILL THE BEST.

  • back when staples was loud

    and fans wore yellow!!

  • it seemed like the western conf. finals was the NBA finals back then

  • how can this be their 6th championship..? when they just won their 4th since then and they said it was their 15th..

  • 5 in Minneapolis

  • it was their 6th because the lakers didn't recognize their championship years in Minneapolis until the 2001-2002 season.

  • yeah but you should also take into account that the entire Lakers dynasty is under speculation of a "conspiracy" thanks to some referees that had to have it their way.. im not saying the Lakers werent good as hell.. but they clearly didnt fairly win their third title..

  • How was losing in overtime on your own homecourt in game 7 unfair? Sacramento you are just an afterthought. WE ARE THE CHAMPS!!!!

  • no im talking about game 6.. one of the worst officiated games of all time..

  • Ok, game 5 was just as badly officiated. What happened in game 7 when the refs didnt matter anymore? The better team won.

  • Yeah, nobody seems to remember that Shaq shot 1 freakin' free throw in that game.

  • What about the closing 2 minutes of Game 5 when the Kings knocked the ball out of bounce but it was called on the Lakers. On that same possession, Peja hit a 3pter.

Not to mention the last play of the game when Bobby Jackson was pulling on Kobe's jersey while he took that last shot.

Kings win Game 5 by 1pt thanks to a bad call and a no call.

  • get over it dude. theyve got the rings, and your bitching its old fucking news

  • The Lakers didn't have home-court advantage, a Sacramento-area hotel gave Kobe food poisoning after Game 1 on the road, Shaq shot 1 FREE THROW in Game 5, and the Lake Show still took the series in 7.

  • The song is "Right Now" by Van Halen

  • anyone know the name of the song that's played in the first 30 seconds?

  • Love like this before by Faith Evans

  • for the FIRST 30 seconds? no its not..

  • The blazers song is "Love Like This" by Faith Evans and the Lakers is "Spybreak!' by The Propellerheads.

People forget that Portland was down 3-1 in this series.

Perhaps if the Blazers had made just one shot in that fatal stretch, maybe the Shaq/Kobe dynasty never happens.

  • It's called DEFENSE.

Portland didn't choke, they WERE CHOKED.

  • Where is the part where they say "This is the NBA on NBC"?

  • what is the name of the lakers song?

  • what is the lakers song?

  • for the blazers i thinks its call not like this before by mase? or somthing

  • wats the song during portlands lineup

  • the drama in these nbc intros are just the best. tnt's coverage is the closest we have now.

  • Amazing series

  • this is fucking amzing

    fucking. amazing.

shame on abc. they ruined the nba.

  • Oh man, you gotta love the Bob Costas intros for NBA on NBC, they were the best.

  • Lawerence Tanter, going strong since 1983.

  • The Utah Jazz

  • Portland and the Lakers were the #3 and #1 seeds that year.

Who was the #2 seed in the 2000 playoffs?

  • Utah was #2 but Portland had a better record than the Jazz. It's just that Portland and LA were both Pacific teams back then and Utah was Midwest

  • maybe i'm just old fashioned but this is way better than that annoying clown for the pistons.

  • Lawrence Tanter, the Lakers P.A. is one of the best. I've met him, and he is a great guy. Andy Jick, the Celtics old P.A., was great, too. Most of the guys now are just screamers/cheerleaders. Sometimes, the current Boston P.A. sounds like Jick, but the Lakers still have the original. LT.

  • That dude in Detroit is BA BA BA BA BEYOND ANNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOYINNNNNNNNNNNG!

  • this is when i started watching basketball

  • this is sikkk

  • where the lakers dynasty started!!!

  • They did not acknowledge their Minneapolis days until 2001-2002.

  • Lawrence Tanter is the man, perhaps the best announcer the league has seen. Better than all those Ray Clay (Chicago Bulls) ripoffs.

  • I think we will all remember where we were, where we were sitting at, and how it felt when Kobe fed that alley oop to Shaq.

That was the greatest single moment ever.

  • The blazers choked on that one

    LAKERS everybody, lakers

  • ....and then they CHOKED!!!!

  • haha old school intro.

no intro video, just lights on the floor and the starting line up. and i remember this game. what a game it was.

  • i love this game !!!!!!!!
