I loved these two and Days back in the 80's. There were no VCR's then so I watched as often as I could and the story lines were great!!!! I recall Days winning soo many awards back then and I was proud to be an avid viewer!! Will always love Marlena & Roman (Northrup) Bo & Hope, Steve & Kayla and Pete & Melissa!!
To me-In daytime there is no other classic scene then this episode.MB & Stephen chose to reach farther and deeper than most to expose the pain and honesty and loneliness these two souls were feeling.It wasnt just about Steve's outer pain with never letting people see his eye, it was also about Kayla getting past the surface would she knew she could heal but digging deeper to confrontational feelings of fearing Steve yet not wanting to leave him alone.Deep passion was built in this eppy.TY <3
DOOL was at it's best back in this era (1980's). Nicoles & Evens were at the height of their soap career. Wish DOOL went back & made storylines like this.
@bfred1963, - So true. Even the fans wanted to see more S&K episodes when they returned hoping DOOL made good storylines for them ... Mary Beth (Kayla) was on DOOL temporary & left last week.
@reklawj9 I'm a little late in replying, but they do not make soaps like that anymore. When Steve and Kayla were on I was glued to the TV and couldn't wait to see the next eppie, now not so much at all.

@cmammlj I love them too and they are classics. Too bad when they came back in 2006 they didn't use them and gave them really bad storyliines.

Nope, they never showed the viewers under the eye patch. Steve did have it replaced at one time but lost it again.
